When I was in Florence, my car wouldn't accelerate out of the driveway one late Friday morning. I contacted Tony's, and they agreed to check my vehicle. They also suggested a tow company, which arrived within half an hour. By closing time, Tony's had replaced the throttle body, and my car was running well again. In town for a few weeks when my brakes start to make that awful wear bar sound, called around a few places and everyone was at least 10 days out. So was Tony's, but the person who answered the phone seemed more organized, so we got an appointment 10 days out. Showed up, they were expecting me, gave me a 2 hour window, and I walked across the street to Starbucks. They called with bad news, funny thing is, I was kind of expecting it. My front brakes were bad, but my rears were worse. They got my okay, through another guy on the job, got it out in about the same time frame, got me in my car and on my way. I swapped my battery out on my 2010 Lexus GX460. Immediately several lights came on the dash. The 4Lo light ( full time 4x4 ), the check engine light, and the traction control light. I looked online and saw some things to do , but thought I'd call a professional to see if they could get the lights to go out. I called and the lady there said sure just bring it down any time and and we'll take care of that for you! So I did , and the mechanic had a code reader computer , hooked it up to the GX's computers interface and with a couple swipes of the reader, the lights were gone !!! I then asked him how much I owed him and he said nothing. He also said you can check in the office if you want ... So I did and she said no charge ! Amazing !!! We went camping and couldn't get something fixed before we left. Called them up and they met us at 7am to get a sensor fixed, the part arrived at 8am and we were out of there by 9am. We were so impressed by the entire experience and especially since we were out of town it could have been so much more stressful. We highly recommend Tony's Garage in Florence, Oregon. It was recommended to us by some local people when we were traveling through Florence on a mini-vacation and our trunk wouldn't latch. The mechanic (probably Tony) at Tony's Garage stopped what he was doing and worked on our car, fixing it enough so that we could continue our vacation. Everyone there was very friendly and very helpful. We may even consider scheduling our non-emergency auto repairs to be done there the next time we visit Florence rather than getting them done in Portland. Other customers came in while we were waiting, and we could tell that they were all pleased with the service they received. read more

Traveling far from home. The Electronic Throttle Control light came on and vehicle's acceleration and response to the accelerator pedal became erratic. Without an appointment, dropped in to Tony's. They got me in that very afternoon, did the diagnostic, performed necessary maintenance, and got it done before closing. They didn't try to upsell anything and the price was very reasonable. I used a local taxi to get to and from my vacation rental home. Cab driver said he has been taking his personal vehicle there for 20 years. Highly recommended. read more

Virtuous and Highly Proficient Ma & Pop type Automotive shop! This shop was recommended from a few "Locals" as well as the high reviews/marks on Yelp. I figured it had to be good because the owner (Tony) has his name not only in the title but is the first person you meet via phone or as you walk in towards the office counter. I had an old Dodge Ram w/the engine light on & wouldn't accelerate past 40 MPH. Tony gave me a call and told me the problem, as well as the price and estimated time of completion. Tony was fair in his pricing but above all he was HONEST! A virtue that is hard to locate in today's world. There may be Automotive shops out there as good as Tony's but you won't find one better!! read more

It's hard to find good family run business nowadays.. I burnt my transmission fluid on a camping trip and Tony and his sons charged a fair price to triple drain and replace it with Honda fluid. This saved me my transmission since I didn't have to climb hills and drive far to a Honda dealer an hour away. While I was there I witnessed Tony helping an elderly lady who didn't know anything about cars. She came in because someone told her she needed to top power steering fluid. Tony checked her car and didn't charge her anything. He could well have added a little fluid and charged her since that's what she came in for. These people are great, fair and helpful. I too had my engine light come on in my Dodge RAM. The dealership in Newport charged me $100 to diagnose and tell me it would cost over $1100 to fix ($690 for the part and 3.5 hours labor). The truck is 15 years old an I wasn't about to spend that much on a small piece of plastic and electronics that fit into the palm of your hand. I found the part on AMAZON (new and same part # as dealership) for $18.95. When the part arrived I went to Tony's to ask if they would install it and make an appointment. They installed the part then and there, took about an hour, and only charged me $100 for labor. A week later, I went to them for a non-automotive quick repair and again they helped me out then and there and only charged $10. So, my first two visits and these people saved me over $1200.00!!!! They will continue to have my business!! read more

After I received a tow from Dillon, you promptly asked for my key and under 15 minutes you stated it was the starter. You already ordered it and within 1 hour I was back on my way. I understand you had several jobs, of which you were working on, but in response to my comment that I was willing to wait until Tuesday you said you'd stay late and get it done. Later, you additionally commented, "You were in trouble...." This would have been a very trying time as we are from Eugene and were camping at Harbor Vista for the night. As Florence has no car rental agencies we had no idea how we were going to pack up our gear if we would have to leave my car for an extended repair job. I got towed to Tony's @ 7PM one evening during the middle of our family vacation. I work on computers and don't know anything about vehicles. My 3500 diesel truck with camper on the back was down for the count. My worst fear is that a local shop would know that a) I'm not mechanical b) that of course I'll pay 'anything' to have it fixed because I was stuck and on vacation with 2 small kids. I got a call from Tony (the owner) at 8AM sharp, as soon as they opened. His technician diagnosed the problem by 8:20 and ordered the part from Eugene. The part arrived by 1PM and was installed by 1:30PM. The kicker: $213, out the door. We were at the Sea Lion caves in the next hour enjoying our vacation again. I was traveling and had an issue with the check engine light on my car. I stopped in at Tony's Garage and Tony the owner immediately took the time to look at my car. He scanned my ECU for codes and determined the code and then cleared it so I could continue. I am very knowledgable about cars and I agreed with his assessment that from the code it would be safe to continue my trip. He even said there would be no charge but I insisted on paying him for his time. It is nice to fine an honest and competent shop when traveling. read more
