We had our dashboard light up with ESP/ABS, tire slippage, and check engine lights. We went to two other places in Florence to see if they could help, and finally was directed to Gerred at Muffler Works. He wasn't sure if our vehicle could be read by his diagnostic European package tool. But we made an appointment to bring it in, and it did work! He knew exactly what it was, one of the wheel sensors, which ended up only needing to be cleaned of debris. We love to have discovered Gerred and Muffler Works, an honest and professional business! While staying at Winchester Bay RV Resort in our Motorhome, Our Towed vehicles (2000 Ford Ranger) clutch went out. I was referred by locals in Florence, OR to give Jerrod at Muffler Works a call. Being on the road 500 miles from home, finding a competent repair shop can be tricky and expensive. Jerrod at Muffler Works said his shop could do the job. Jerrod and his staff Kyle, and Kyle #2, went out of their way to fit me in. They worked overtime to get the job done and when they realized the job could not be completed that evening, Jerrod made sure I had transportation back to Winchester Bay until they could finish and upon completion, made sure I had transportation back to Florence (30 miles each way). This shop USED to be legit. unfortunately its falling down on scheduling, wasting a lot of their customers time. communication is extremely lacking as far as who is responsible for what job so things just sit there. Also the mechanics just leave for the day at random hours without letting anyone know what's going on w tyh the vehicles. Also had a bunch of expensive suspension and steering work done and it lasted a few months before it all went back to what it was. I'm really disappointed as I've been a customer for 25 yrs. Last Monday the inner cooler of our truck blew out as we were towing our trailer. Jerred agreed to take a look at our problem though we noticed they were swamped when we got there. He diagnosed it and made phone calls to get the part needed for the repair. When the part arrived Jerred and his team worked overtime in spite of the fact that they were supposed to close at 5 pm just so we can continue with our camping plans. Jerred is honest , fair and very helpful. We had no problems with our truck after the repair. Though the name is Muffler Works they are an A+ automotive repair shop. Not a better person to bring your car or anything with a motor too. Gared is absolutely hands down a trust worth, open guy(mechanic). Will not bring my car anywhere else. I've had him put a supercharger in, plus other electrical work and what he's known for...muffler work. Save yourself some frustration and just go here first.
