The guys here totally saved my ass right before closing on a Friday afternoon- I started to leave town and heard metal scraping the highway, so pretty immediately had to exit and find the nearest garage. I called and asked if they could help, and they stick around for us (even though it ended up making a super quick jack up and fix) and we were SO appreciative!! I chose Tony's because of the proximity to my house and because of the reviews. I was not disappointed. When I first walked by the shop I was greeted by Nick, Tony son who runs things now. I believe Tony was sitting in the office overseeing things, but Nick greeted me with a smile and offered his help immediately. I had a slow leak in the tire and wanted to get it checked out and also got an oil change on top of it. I dropped my the car off and picked it up about three hours later. When the slow leak got worse later I bought four new tires from Nick after he advised me to not wait for a blowout with tires. He's not pushy or manipulative he just says what he thinks and then let you decide, unlike a lot of other mechanics I've been around. All in all a good experience with great customer service that can be a little hard to find in South Philly. read more

Usually, when you walk into a place that works with your car, you expect to be cheated. Sad, but true. Most of us just don't know enough about cars to be protected. So when my expensive import car's AC broke, I groaned and checked my savings account. When I called Tony's Auto Service, I spoke to a super friendly guy (Tony). I was instantly impressed with his professionalism as he talked to me for close to ten minutes while I described my problem. He was friendly, upfront about potential problems and spoke very clearly, all without "talking down" to me. I dropped my car off early in the morning. They didn't haggle or try to get extra work done. He even told me he'd call me in the next few hours to let me know what his diagnostics showed and the potential price. Low and behold, nothing was even wrong with my car's AC. He told me he tested everything and couldn't find any issues. He tried the AC several times and drove my car around the neighborhood to see if the AC was acting up. Nothing!! He called and said come pick it up this afternoon. It's completely fine! Luckily, I only had to pay a small labor fee for them to test my car for a few hours. Tony's Auto Service is a solid, honest company and I will keep coming back when I have car issues. read more

I just moved to Philly and was worried about finding a new auto mechanic. I came across Tony's website while just browsing the internet and chose it randomly. I was so very pleasantly surprised. Tony and his son run this friendly, clean, honest business. They were very knowledgeable and made sure that they explained everything clearly to me. They only fixed what I asked them to fix for a very reasonable price and made suggestions about what might help it run better. They didn't push me into fixing anything that didn't need to be fixed, they didn't overcharge, and they told me which repairs were important and which ones could wait. I had come in saying somethign needed to be fixed because another mechanic told me it needed to be and the Tony's crew told me that it was not even broken--they could have easily stole my money because I know NOTHING about cars!! (but they didn't!!) On top of this, the people who work here are welcoming, professional but in a casual, friendly way--you'll feel really comfortable. Let me first start by saying that I will never take my car anywhere else ever again! I moved here from Baltimore 4 years ago but still have family there so I go back often. Until recently, when I needed something done on my Nissan Maxima I would take it to the place I had always went to in MD. After a while that obviously got annoying so I decided to stop by Tony's (after reading these stellar reviews!) and WOW I am so happy I did!! Nick is the nicest guy! Sounds crazy but I trusted him immediately and felt comfortable with the work he needed to do on my car. He wasn't pushy, just gave me the facts and his honest opinion when I asked for it. I've been back for an oil change since and was again greeted with the warmest welcome. I even had a "police escort" while I was leaving :) Everything about Tony's Auto Service was enjoyable (well maybe not the actual bill but I do feel like it was incredibly reasonable for all the work they did!). Tony was very nice on the phone and explained that they would be happy to look at my car and pay attention to any specific concerns.
