Very pleased with this shop. My 2015 Camry wouldn't start and had to get towed on a Sunday evening, when everywhere was closed. Was taken to another location, which I later did some research on and wasn't crazy about. I left a message here overnight and Kevin responded first thing in the morning. After speaking to him about availability, I called the other location, which gave me a 1 week estimate due to backlog (one of several concerns I had after my research). I was able to get the car towed here instead, where he was able to diagnose and repair it by 2pm same day. (I lucked out as he had a couple cancellations and got me in earlier than expected.) Along the way he called with updates, so I was informed. Also he was able to get the OEM part, per my request. When I picked up the car he came out to meet me and chatted briefly about the job, future maintenance, etc. That is the way to handle your business. I always like to speak to the mechanic after the job so I know what's going on with my car. Admittedly, my repair was a straightforward one. Probably would have had the same outcome at most other shops, 9/10 times. Nevertheless, some places might've tried to upsell me on a new battery/alternator, even though power supply was not the issue, because a lot of customers don't know better. Didn't get even a whiff of that here. Overall, the shop was responsive, quick, accommodating, professional, and honest. Will go back when needed. read more

This shop should be more than your go-to auto repair shop, it should be your only auto repair shop. I called them with an emergency, they sent a tow truck to pick us up (me and my car) and worked on it the very next day. Unfortunately, my car needed major repair that I ignored for a while, but the mechanics at 1939 auto took really good care of me and had me back on the road in no time. screwed us for money, car was not starting so we were referred to this place. everything was good until a month later the car was not starting again, stated he put a new starter in and less than 24 hours car did not start again. he diagnosed the car wrong and now we must put out for another starter and the electrical wire that was not caught by machinic. our dealership stated they don't know how 1939 AUTO did not catch this problem, even if they could not do the job we should of be notified but instead they replaced the wrong thing and making us put more money out. I second the opinion of I'd never go anywhere else-unless Dom told me to. They are quick (I never had a problem getting an appointment within a reasonable amount of time if not same day). They are friendly. They never try to up sale me. As a woman who knows NOTHING about cars, I am susceptible to getting ripped off when it comes to car repairs. The first time I went to Dom's was for a flat tire. They fix it and charged an acceptable price and I was on my way. I know it seems simple but the last time I took my car to different mechanic for a flat, they told me I needed $2,500 worth of work done. I most recently went to Dom's to get my car inspected. Having an older car, I was really nervous about how much it'd cost me. They checked out what needed to be fixed and went above to explain everything to me. When it was ready, it turned out a part didn't need to be replaced so it cost less than his quote. I feel so comfortable taking my car there and am so happy I have a new mechanic. read more

I called to ask about getting my brakes done. Was told I could drop it off the next morning. I got there shortly after they opened and was taken in right away. Shortly after I arrived home I got a call explain what repairs and parts were needed and how much it would be. The price quoted was quite fair and I okayed the repairs. I'm happy to say I got my car back within a couple of hours. They were also nice enough to tell me why my check engine light was on and told me what to tell the dealer as it may have been covered under warranty. I truly appreciate great customer service. brakes were screeching loudly when I stopped, I originally took it to Pep Boys they told me my front brake, rotor, and caliper needed replacing, $700, I said too much they said $500. Left Pep Boys and looked on Yelp, Dom's had good reviews, I took it to Dom's he said leave it he'll look at it. Calls me back an hour later says my front brakes are fine, it is my back brakes that need repair. Fixed back brakes, Dom said that Pep Boys didn't even check my back brakes because he had a hard time removing the wheel and dirt was caked up, so for a about half the price that Pep Boys would have charged me, my brakes were done the same day. Brakes work fine no screeching, and stop on a dime. I highly recommend Dom's. read more

Dom has a thing or two to learn about customer service. I called telling him my car's check engine light was on. He replied with a friendly and lackadaisical "Sure thing, bring it in tomorrow morning." Arrived at 11:45, where his employee (who was very friendly) told him that I was coming in for an appointment and he replied with a short "No he's not!" I proceeded to say that the check engine light was on and just needed to know what was wrong (a quick plug into the computer) and he told me "Well not at 12 o'clock. Come back tomorrow before 9AM this time." I told him OK and that he "didn't specify the time with me on the phone" and his reply to this was a once again rude and short "Well I'll be sure to be more specific next time." All in all, I'm sure Dom does honest good work but he has a few things to learn about customer service. I'm new to the area and considered him to be a real decent guy based on other reviews. I ended up calling 11th St Auto and they told me to come on in anytime before they closed - to at least get the car in their hands. I showed up around 1:00PM and they called me back an hour later with "It's good to get picked up!" Funny enough, there wasn't anything seriously wrong with it. Just a small fix that 11th St Auto gave me FREE OF CHARGE... Thank you, Dom - For letting me know that I should never go with you but always with 11th St. because lets be real... with that snippy little attitude of yours, you probably would have charged me a decent bit for the quick simple fix I got for free. Myself as well as my family have been coming here for years. I have never had a negative experience. Recently I had issues with my turn signals, high beams and brakes on my car. I was told by a larger business that it would cost a base price of $200 just to look into the issue and that the parts would be extremely expensive and could cost over $1000 total. I brought the car to Dom's and he told me that he was extremely booked but promised that he would look over it as soon as he had the chance. Within 8 hours my car was finished and he even asked if he could do an oil change because one was needed. I dropped my car off for an oil change last Monday morning- dropped it off at 8am and he called me at 8:30am to say it was ready. I recently rehabbed a 2002 Honda Civic given to me for free and he ran the codes for the engine light I had on and gave me advice on how to move forward.
