This park anchors the Hudson Valley Rail Trail at the western terminus, so we parked here for our cycling adventure, and after-ride lunch.
The park itself is pretty nice, with a number of facilities that were being used: baseball diamonds, basketball and tennis courts, and a nice big playground for the kids. The parking lot could use some shade trees, as it was pretty sunny and the cars get pretty heated up.
Down by the baseball diamond, there's a nice shady picnic area with a lot of tables and bathrooms. I would have given this park 5 stars if not for these bathrooms, which were broken, badly. I'm not going to go into explicit detail, but suffice to say that they were rather fragrant, and highly unpleasant. Hopefully they've been repaired since our visit.
So, if you're going for a ride, this is a good place to park your car for the duration, and an ok after-ride spot. It's definitely a lot quieter than the lots closer to the Walkway over the Hudson. read more
