I hardly ever write reviews so this is rare for me but I had such an awesome experience buying a car from Ray & Ben at Central Sales that i've become a total raving fan and wanted to share my experience. I have had several people ask me about the process so here's how it worked for us: We had done a bit of research and were deciding between a Pilot and a Highlander. Ray (who was great to work with) from Central Sales brought both cars to our house on multiple occasions (including evenings after work and weekends) so that we could test drive them at home and in our neighborhood, try them with our carseat and see which one fit better in our garage. We were also deciding between a couple of different model years so we were extra difficult :) It was a very easy process and the real bonus for us is that we didn't have to drag our 8 month old baby to a car dealership for 4 hours on a weekend. Once we decided, we filled out a quick finance form via email and they handled all of that for us, a making sure they found us the lowest rate. They tracked down the exact car we wanted (colors/features/etc) and again, brought it to our house. It took about 10 minutes to fill out the paperwork and then we did a quick "training" on the new car, how to use the features etc, and we were all set! The pricing model is 100% transparent so you know exactly what you are getting and for me, the best part is that you don't have to deal with talking to multiple layers of management, and juggling with the sales guy, the finance guy, the warranty guy. Compared to the typical car buying process, (which always takes too long and ends up feeling way more stressful and deflating than it should) this process left my husband and I thinking "Why would anyone NOT buy a car this way?". With both of us working full time and a new baby at home, this was a no brainer. I think Central Sales could change the entire car buying landscape (and I sincerely hope they do). I just purchased a 2010 Infiniti G37x through Central Sales. I was not 100% sure I wanted to give up my 2002 Subaru as it was paid off and in pretty good shape. I live in Seattle, but have family and friends in Portland, so thought I'd give Central Sales a try. I tend to keep cars for a long time, mainly because I hate the car buying process. I worked with Ben, and he never disappointed. I told him my budget and type of car I was interested in. He emailed me a few options. I was very interested in the Infiniti. Before I headed to Portland to test drive the car, Bryce set up my financing. He found me an interest rate that was better than my credit union. Ben does not usually work on weekends, however I was only able to go to Portland on a Saturday afternoon. No problem, he made it work. He went to his office and waited for me. There was no doubt that I wanted this car once I test drove it. Ben had all the paperwork ready and I was driving off in my new car shortly after I arrived. He felt bad that we did the transaction in his office, however I did not live in Portland so this worked just fine for me. The transaction was not over when I signed the papers. Ben wanted me to be completely satisfied and did whatever it took to resolve any issues that came up. Before I headed back to Seattle, I expressed a concern about the brakes. Ben was at my Mothers house the next morning with a loaner car. He had the brakes checked and fixed at their expense. Because I purchased the car with 44,000 miles on the odometer, I didn't expect it to be perfect. Ben did not want me to take the car home until it was as close to perfect as a used car can be! :) I was very impressed and never had a bad feeling about the process. Ben even sent me a text on the evening that I drove the car back to Seattle to make sure I was home safe and enjoyed driving the car. This is the first time I have written a review for any business! My wife and I are both local credit union members out of Vancouver, WA. We heard of Central Sales through a contact through one of our employers and were interested how the process worked and how we could cut the dealer hassle out of the picture of purchasing a new car that we needed. After a quick phone call we talked with Bryce about what are needs were and what we were looking to purchase. He suggested makes and models for us and his recommendations per what our needs were. I wish I had known about Central Sales when I purchased my past two cars. It would have saved me from a lot of grief and frustration. And I wouldn't have thought of buying car as such a daunting experience. Luckily, this time around, I heard about this service and decided to give it a try. I am so happy I did! Our company needed a vehicle in a short period of time. I was dreading getting it simply to avoid the usual process: researching, finding ads, calling around, going from one dealership to another and, worst of all, negotiating with them. The thought of the experience alone was enough to postpone the purchase until the last minute. Then I engaged with Central Sales and everything happened fast, efficiently and smoothly. After a previous horrible dealership experience I was nervous to start the car buying process. I heard about Central Sales through my credit union and called wanting to ask a few questions about trading my old car in, hidden costs, etc. I spoke with Ben on the phone he was so informative and friendly, it instantly put my mind at ease. I was contacted the next day by Matt who I dealt with for the rest of the process. If I could have everyone I know buy a car from him, I would! He brought 2 cars out to my work and when I hesitated he didn't pressure me at all, just assured me he'd keep looking and eventually we'd find the right fit. When I decided a few days later that I did in fact want one of the cars I had tried, it was no longer available. Matt instantly found me not only the exact same make and model but it turned out to be a car in better shape as well. He brought the car out to my work for me to test drive and even took it to my mechanic for me since I was looking to get an independent inspection done. Papers were signed the next day, and I could not be happier with the Pilot that I chose. From start to finish, the process took less than 2 weeks (and that was because of me) and was certainly more enjoyable and hassle free than any other car buying experience out there. I've waited 49 years to say this --- I had a great experience buying a car from a dealership!! I will never buy a car from anywhere else again as long as I live here. Central Sales is awesome and Chris Mueller is a dream to work with. I also had the pleasure of working with their GM a few months ago as he walked me through all the different scenarios that were available to me at the end of my horrible lease experience from another dealer who doesn't ACTUALLY believe in nice. Central Sales will bring the car to your home to test drive, if that is your preference, You can also sign all the paperwork in the comfort of your own home. I did go into the dealership, because I knew I'd want to drive multiple cars and as I'm not the most patient person on the planet, I thought it would be more efficient. No pressure, just an experience above any other. They make a real effort to get you the car YOU want, not just what they want to sell. He even showed me reasons why one of the cars I looked at was not a good option even though I was drooling on it. I got the best interest rate of my life and a fantastic deal. Best car buying experience we've EVER had. This business is not too good to be true no matter what your skeptic side tells you. After a week of miserable car shopping at other places I searched "best dealership Portland" hoping I could trust SOMEONE and found Central Sales pristine rating in Yelp and Google. I called and Roy, within 2 min of talking, directed me to exactly the car listing we'd spent weeks looking for. Roy was friendly, genuine, enthusiastic and laid back. He gave me his cell and arranged to bring the car to my house the next day (we hadn't even applied with them yet). Without me even asking, they dropped the dealer asking price dramatically. Our...rather credit troubled application was approved in less than 24 hours. Roy called the next day and offered us TWICE what other dealers had offered on our trade. I was in shock waiting for the ball to drop. It never did. Even after verbally agreeing to the approved terms, Bryce (Roy's manager) of his own accord requested an even lower interest rate for us and got it. Blown away and relieved, we went home with the car we searched for, a transparent contract we clearly understood and loved, and not a frayed nerve in sight. Our experience with Central Sales was awesome from start to finish. I couldn't believe the service they offered: All I had to do was call, give them a description of the car I was looking for, and then sit back. Within an hour, I started getting links to cars that fit our parameters, and the next day, the first one was brought to our house for us to test drive! This service was perfect for our busy lives; we needed to replace the old car, but didn't have time to visit dealerships. We worked with Roy Ramirez who was kind, thoughtful, and did everything he could to help us have a great experience. There were a couple of things that we wanted to have repaired on the vehicle we chose, and Roy helped ensure that everything was completely to our satisfaction. I was introduced to Ron Tonkin's Concierge Program by Ben Odenborg and with a busy real estate practice and little time during the summer months to be away from clients, it seemed like the perfect program for me. I called Ben about a vehicle I had seen at one of the many Tonkin dealerships and he had one of his team members contact me. Tanya had the car in front of my office for a test drive within a couple hours between meetings I had scheduled. After a test drive I told her it was the car for me, but that I spent a lot of time at the mountain and needed raised roof rails for a ski rack. Let me start by staying, I absolutely hate the idea of buying a new car because of the hassle and time consuming process I've always exeperienced at the car lots. That being said, I can honestly say that my experience with Central Sales was so painless and stress free and I will never buy a car any other way again. My wife and I browsed cars on the website and inquired about one in particular. I got a call from Roy who handled everything from there. There was no pressure whatsoever. He was able to handle the financing and helped us find just the right car and payments we were looking for. Once we decided on the car we thought we wanted, he brought it to our house for a test drive. We loved the car and proceeded with completing the sale right there in our dining room. The papers were all ready to go and the signing of papers only took about 10 minutes and we were then the proud owners of a new 2014 Toyota Corolla. I was referred to Central Sales by my loan officer at my bank and at first I was a little skeptical. I had no idea who they were or what exactly they did. After first contacting them (Roy was the name I was given) I told them what kind of car I was looking for. It was a couple of days later (it was a Friday when I first approached them) that I had emailed to me three cars that fit what I was looking for. After looking at them and a few more later I decided on one particular car. Roy worked with me to meet with me after work and he drove the car up from Gresham to Vancouver so I could take a look at it. What great service. I test drove the car and decided it was the one I wanted. The next day Roy drove back up to Vancouver with the car and we filled out the necessary paperwork on the spot. Took all of 15-20 minutes! Roy and Central Sales made car buying extremely easy and there was absolutely no pressure whatsoever. I would recommend anyone if they are in the market for a car to give them a call. We heard about Tonkin Central Sales from a co-worker and told our daughter about them. She had a great experience with everyone there - especially Roy Ramirez - so we decided to give them a try, too. It had been 14 years since we bought a car and I truly hadn't anticipated the warm, relaxed, and genuine reception we got from Roy. If there's anything lower than low pressure sales....that's how it felt. We had some VERY specific requests about models, interior, mileage, color, price, etc. and Roy was diligent every step along the way. He was patient, asked clarifying questions, and seemed genuinely interested in finding the right car for us. Here's the ironic part.....we eventually found our "dream" car at another dealership! I had the best car buying experience ever using Tonkin's Central Sales. I was looking for a custom Audi SQ5, Mike and Matt were able to find one at another dealership, arrange for a test drive at Wilsonville Audi, arrange very competitive financing, and delivered the vehicle to my home where we completed all the paperwork. It was the most painless car buying experience ever. I can't see how anyone who buys a car using this business model can ever go back to the traditional way of visiting a dealership to buy a car. Having multiple car brands to sell means they aren't trying to sell you the brand on their lot, and they aren't smack talking the competition, it really is all about what the customer wants. I've purchased 19 new vehicles over the years, all brands and all price ranges, from Ford to Porsche, and I've left many car lots in a bad mood or feeling they just weren't out to help the customer. Central Sales ROCKS! I recently got in a fender bender and my car was totaled. I was dreading the whole dealership adventure. I am an employee of Tonkin Parts Center and had never heard of Central Sales. One of my co-workers referred me to them. I didn't know what to expect. They helped me narrow my car search down to two vehicles, which they brought right to my work to test drive. Then they brought the favorite one to my home for my husband to test drive. The salesman, Oscar Perez was very personable and put me at ease right away. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, but left the decisions to us. There was no pressure and we felt very well taken care of. I will NEVER go to a dealership again! We signed all the paperwork at our home. It was unexpectedly easy. Now this is my new expectation! I have been to other dealerships before with my parents when they were looking to buy a new car and it was always an unpleasant experience. I have been putting off trading in my car for a new one for a long time but it was definitely time to do it. My friend recommended that I try this dealership. I talked with Ben & Roy before going in and they asked me what kind of car I was looking for and what I was trading in. When I got to the dealership they had options of cars that fit what I was looking for waiting for me to test drive. Since this was my first car buying experience I had a LOT of questions and I felt like they were all answered very thoroughly and I didn't feel pressured to make any rushed decisions. Best care buying experience. We purchased a Toyota Highlander from Matt Kim and he made the process effortless. We simply told him what we were looking for, what we were willing to pay and he did the rest. He brought out two cars to test drive to our home and when those didn't work, Matt went quickly back to work and found us the perfect vehicle two days later. He brought it to my work and we drove it over to my husband's work. We both agreed - this was the one!!! Later that night we signed paperwork on our kitchen table as we got our 5 year ready for bed. I only wish the best car for us had matched up with the best salesperson. We test-drove a minivan with Ray and ended up getting a different vehicle, but I wanted to write a review because we liked him so much! Central Sales is set up to bring the vehicle to you so, esp. having kids, that made it easier on us. Ray was very easy to communicate with and didn't seem to be employing the funny tricks that sales people at large dealerships seem to thing are so hilarious. (Can I also suggest trying smaller dealerships like Dave Russell, Powell Motors, or Tommy Wilson?) I recommend Ray highly. This is the way of the future to buy a car. Why drive around, then sit for hours in a dealership while they try to sell you a financing package? Screw that! Have them bring it to you, AND get to deal with someone a little more human! read more

My 11 year old car finally died and I was hesitant to start the car buying process. I went to my credit union for a loan and the lady there referred me to Central Sales. She raved about it them... I made the phone call to start the process and to my surprise these guys were AWESOME! Extremely helpful and not pushy, knowledgeable and an overall good feeling. I did send them a link to a car I was looking at (not a Tonkin car) and asked if they had anything alike with the year and millage. They were happy to inform me details of the car and did advise it was a great deal! I appreciated the honesty and the help even though it was not a sale they could make.
