I was really happy with my 2006 Ford Escape. It was in like new condition and low miles. So you may be asking yourself what am I doing at a used car lot on Portland's notorious for used car lots 82nd Avenue. So, there was this lady out driving around on February 1, 2023, and she wasn't paying attention to my car going through the intersection and I couldn't avoid her. I'll spare you all her drama and hysterics. End result, this particularly unpleasant lady's negligence resulted in my car being totaled. After what I thought was an appropriate mourning period, I felt ready to welcome another Ford Escape back into my life. Finding right one was a tiresome process. Some didn't match their profile photo, and that was just a deal breaker. I wanted to have my dads blessing when I thought I found one I could be happy with. He inspected the profile and agreed. So yesterday afternoon we drove to Barron's Auto Sales and Details. It was pretty much love at first sight. My soon to be 2010 Ford Escape was just sitting there all golden and gleaming in the sunshine peeking through the clouds. We got the keys and me and my dad took it for a little test drive. I felt right at home sitting behind the wheel. My dead was impressed with the way it drove. We both agreed I should buy it. My finances were limited as I haven't been paid for my beloved 06. We went into the office and met Hugo Lara and discussed a price we were both happy with. I'm almost embarrassed to admit this but I've never bought a car on my own. Let me explain. I know that when you purchase a vehicle especially one that is very low priced, and 20 years old there will be a few problems you encounter. It's to be expected. This happened to us when we first had a blowout with our tire, that lead to over $800.00 in issues. This was all fixed and we thought everything was good to go. It wasn't and we were certain that we had a lemon on our hands. I made a call to Barron's and explained everything that had happened and what was happening now. Instead of "so sad too bad, as is no warranty", they were very understanding and very willing to correct the issues. Long story short, everything that we knew of that needed to be repaired was done, in addition to things that were found while making the repairs. They didn't have to do this but they did. I know for certain that this was not a money making deal for them as the repairs were almost as much as the car. The point is, they fixed it, made it right and proved that they stand by their word and are honest hard working people who truly believe in making the customer happy. I have purchased dozens of cars in my life many new and a few used. I would without hesitation make a recommendation to visit Barron's and see the staff there. Unlike many "used car sales" tactics that are employed elsewhere, these people want nothing more than to have happy customers. It's easy to do when everything goes right. Sure, it may not be perfect, but it is better than the ones the competition have. The guys here are also down to earth and easy to talk to. They do not waste your time beating around the bush or push you into buying something that is not right you. They are also open to negotiate and as with any used car lot, if you have cash, then the better chance you have at getting at at a fair market value which they also acknowledge. We looked at 6 cars here, it's just that I am very meticulous at choosing a car, and I know what to look for, but I would not hesitate to spend my hard earned money here. here's the thing: you can't trust car dealers. EXCEPT- you actually can trust these guys. a few weeks ago i bought a 2001 hyundai in what i thought to be good shape, only to have transmission troubles. i took it in, even though there was no warranty, and explained the situation. bob asked the bosses what they could do. they let me trade it in for a way way nicer 2003 beetle that was actually what i wanted in the first place. they are such wonderful, awesome people. you'd think on 82nd that this place wouldn't be possible. but in the end, i was $200 short and they just said, "bring it tomorrow, we trust you." I will never buy another car anywhere else after my experience at Barron's! I was initially drawn to a car they had for sale online; I inquired, and got a super friendly phone call returned. I decided to go in personally and check it out and im really glad I did. Do not trust these guys. I bought a car from these people and the radiator had so much epoxy on it it wasn't funny. Almost a year later and it still isn't running. I had it one day before it broke and it was supposedly mechanically inspected. They will sell you a lemon with a smile. They will tell you not to blame them but they knew. Back in May I wanted to buy a car for my mom for peace of mind that she could get around safely. I went to Barron's because they had such good ratings. We found a basic car which drove very nicely and they eagerly had us buy it off the lot that day. Something that should have just stopped me altogether was my bank didn't even want to give me a loan because they said the car was way over priced by about $2k. The company finagled any 'reduction in price' out of me with the loan they facilitated with a partnered lender by tacking on DMV fees. All of which I wouldn't have minded if my moms car didn't break down the VERY next day. I had to call them multiple times for them to come get the car and help us. Finally they did, and made some quick fix but for 2 months the car barely ran and my mom had to put new oil in it once a week. The cost to fix this problem was $1300. We thought we'd get by but then about 4 weeks ago the car fully broke down. The transmission is wrecked and will cost about $2400. So now my moms car sits broken on her lawn... with a total of $3700 in repairs to do and I have $4500 left to pay on the loan. The car isn't even work the cost of the repairs. Its one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made and Barrons Auto will not return our calls or emails. DO NOT GO HERE. They sold us the worst possible car. At the very least don't EVER buy a used car without a proper inspection. These are not good people, and I'm so confused how they have all the ratings they do. read more

Barrons Auto Sales is seriously the #1 BEST car dealer I have ever delt with!! I have bought many vehicles in the past and by far, this was the smoothest car buying experience ever. I happen to drive by and spotted a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Never thought would I own one, but decided to stop in and take a look. Adrian, the salesman, right away was super nice and friendly. I felt no pressure at all with him. Trust me, I've been to many other dealers and right away, its nothing but pressure. All that does is makes you uncomfortable and makes you want to run away. However, this was not the case. I was comfortable and they talked to me like I was their own family member. After the test drive, I met Teresa. She told me she will work her magic and get me the best interest rate she can.
