The interior is dated but in good condition and larger than the exterior would lead you to believe. Coachlight has frequent all you can drink specials for many Wisconsin televised sports event. Plenty of space and televisions for watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers or Nascar. Bartenders/owners Dan & Nikki always offer a pleasant greeting and are inviting to talk to. Chances are more likely than not you'll be offered the shake of the day or the opportunity to shake for a shot. Coachlight has a full kitchen with all the expected bar food offerings. They offer a Sunday broasted chicken & Friday fish fry. All offerings are very reasonably priced. Bar food opinions can vary greatly but Coachlight generally seems to get it right more often than not. If you're staying at the nearby Shawano Co. campground, Coachlight is a worth while venture from the campsite. I've brought my children many times for an afternoon/dinner bite to eat and returned in the evening for adult fun. Don't let the rough exterior scare you away as looks can be deceiving. A definite fun Shawano area experience.

They have bar tables that you are given to place on the bar in front of you just before your food arrives. Surprisingly convenient. The food, perch and pan fried walleye, was better than most I've had. The portions were large and we all took home leftovers. I liked the option of hash browns as a potato choice. The bartender and staff were very friendly and inclusive and treated us as valued customers. Will definitely have this place on my list of places to return to.

Johns corner bar a staple for shawano county. Well hidden gem that only the locals know about…read more Going into any bar in Wisconsin on a Friday will lead to a discussion of where your going for fish frys and when your in shawano county the response is almost always johns corner bar. What to expect went coming to johns you will not get a seat right away you most likely (on Friday for sure) will wait an hour or more. You grab a number wait till your called order and then they will seat you. You can also expect food that is top notch every time with out question. This trip to the corner bar landed us on a Saturday night prime rib special. The whole family came this time. My dad and I ordered prime rib sandwich ( my only complaint) it's cheap in price and your get what you pay for by getting 1/8 inch thick cut on this. I would gladly have paid 12-15 dollars for a good amount of meat. The wife got broasted chicken and she loved it. My sister ordered the queen cut prime rib and as you can see not like most prime ribs where you get a good portion of fat on it this one did not have much fat and you can come to expect that from johns. Her boyfriend ordered the sirloin which definitely looked like a great cut of meat! My dads wife ordered deep fried shrimp and scallops and the scallops melted in your mouth. Do not shy away from the wait here, like all good things, quality takes time! There's a wait because it's worth it. If you're one to complain about a wait this is not the place for you!

Perfect Asian spice and the slaw addrd great crunch with just enough heat. The handcut chips were very good Hubby had the firecraker shrimp, too, and loved it. It's a small little bar type place, but they have a cook on so your bartender isn't trying to juggle both jobs and the food is fast and delicious. I had the western burger and it was 5 star. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. I had it with the homemade chips which were also delicious, but they offer many sides. The bbq sauce on my burger was insanely delicious and I'm picky about my sauce. My coworkers each had different burgers and they looked equally delicious and they raved about them. I live in Green Bay, but I will make the trip to Shawano regularly just to visit this place!
