Friends took us for Friday fish and at first glance, it appeared to be just another country bar. There are a limited number of tables to eat at so most people seem to eat at the bar, which we did. They have bar tables that you are given to place on the bar in front of you just before your food arrives. Surprisingly convenient. The food, perch and pan fried walleye, was better than most I've had. The portions were large and we all took home leftovers. I liked the option of hash browns as a potato choice. The homemade pizza is incredible here! The crust was thin but crunchy and held up to all the toppings on the pizza. My Dad and I split a Garbage pizza and my Boyfriend got a Sausage Mushroom pizza. Both were delicious and loaded with toppings and cheese. The bartenders and people working in the back were super nice and helpful even considering how busy they were. We had a little bit of a wait to get our food but it was worth it! We will definitely be back again. read more

For the past couple weeks the service of food has declined since the new kitchen manager was chosen. it seems that there is never food there. We have been told several times in the last weeks they are out of all the things we try to order. Went in today and they only had 3 options for appetizers. I feel bad for the great employees that work there (Sarah, mariah, Malissa, Ronnie,)but there is definitely a bad one in the bunch(ulie) I have had to stop coming when Julie is cooking solo. I have had food come to my table that was burnt to the point couldn't use untiles and ended up leaving 60 dollars worth of food that was completely inedible on nights when Julie was cooking. Nice menu with a home town feel. Food I have enjoyed is very consistent. They trust what has built the business to what it is today.

Quite disappointed tonight with the unacceptable slow service. Have eaten here in the past with great food and service. Took an hour and 20 minutes to get 3 orders of wings and a burger and there were only 2 others in there. Hope our next visit goes better! read more

This is by far one of my favorite places to eat & drink in northern Wisconsin. Beautiful lake views, friendly staff and reasonable prices. We lived on the Cloverleaf Lakes and ordered pizza to go once a week. I stopped in with the kids recently and had lunch on the deck. When our party got there it was quite busy but eventually we got a table. It's a small bar but friendly customers and employees. Atmosphere was great. We were there for about 2 hours when the bar kinda cleared out so we figured it was time to order our food. There was now probably 10 customers in there, that was at 6pm. Not once did the waitress come over to see if we needed more drinks but was no big deal, we went and ordered from the bartender ourselves. From 6 to 7 pm we saw a lot of customers come through the door and take home carry outs. At 7:30 pm we were beginning to wonder if they lost our order so we asked and were told, carry outs are always a priority over bar customers. Excuse me, we spent a lot of money on drinks and now on food and you're telling us a carry out who only bought food was a priority or was it because we were strangers. The food was excellent no doubt and we left a nice tip to the waitress and also made sure, in person, that the cook also got a nice tip. We realize that priorities are set by the owners not the workers. Will we be back, not sure. Will we recommend it to others, not without a warning of what happened to us. read more

The food is amazing. The hired staff does a decent job at tending to the customers. But The wife of the owner shows a lack of professional educate along with favoritism, arrogance, should not work in a customer orientated area of the business. I love the food from the place but if your not ordering something how they want to make it two bad because that's how your going to get it. And if you speak up about it your going to be met with a hand in your face and told to deal with it. (At least if she is assisting you) Witch happens more than i would like. I have dined at Mickster's for the better portion of 3 years. I will not argue with the quality/price of the food at all. The only thing is for the specialty food and price that the bar makes. The attention to the customer is mediocre at best and not on par with the quality of the food. And don't expect things to change anytime soon as i said the service that is sub par is a relative to the owner. read more
