And then after we FINALLY got it and settled the bill, we ended up taking it to another mechanic who had to fix all the poor work done by Mountain View. Among other boneheaded moves, they put all the new tires on wrong (whitewalls facing in for some reason). A local family friend recommended this place so highly, which is why we kept cutting them more slack, but that good faith was sorely misplaced. If they do not know you personally, you're SOL working with Mountain View.

0 stars! I took my car here on a Monday to get a state inspection. They told me I needed two tires…read moreand said they could put them on but would have to do so the following day (Tuesday). I agreed and they said it would be ready by 11a/12p on Tuesday. At 1pm I hadn't heard from them so I called and they said the tires hadn't come yet (they did not tell me they didn't have the tires), but the tires would be there any minute and the car would be ready today. I called again at 330pm and they said the tires hadn't come and it wouldn't be ready until the following day. On Wednesday at 12pm, I called again and they said they were putting the tires on now and it would be about 45 minutes and stated I would get a text when the car was ready. At 2:00, I hadn't heard anything so I called again. They said the tires were on and they were waiting for a balance machine. I informed them I'd be in at 3pm to pick up my car and it needed to be ready. At 3pm I arrived at the station and they hadn't even started putting the tires on. I waited in the waiting room until 330 when it was finally done. It took 3 days for them to put on two tires, and they lied to me about its progress every step of the way. At approximately 2:05pm on Wednesday I received a notification through the Kia Access App that the theft alarm was activated. When I picked up my car and took it home I noticed that there was clear visible damage where it appeared as though someone used something to attempt to break into my vehicle. I confronted the station about it and they apologized and stated they would pay for the damages. It has been 3 weeks and they have not issued me a refund or paid for the damages despite me following up consistently. Do not take your car here!

I set an appointment, and they were ready to take my car on time, and got me through in no time! They're very trustworthy, never pushing any un-needed repairs on me. I actually asked them about also replacing my windshield wipers, since I knew they were old and getting a little streaky. Instead of just taking my money, they actually told me they felt like the wipers were fine, and double checked with me to see if I was having any problems with them! Their prices are also super competitive, to boot! I'm never going to go to anyone else in Harrisonburg for my automotive needs!

I have to admit, I am so spoiled and fortunate to have stumbled on such great mechanics throughout…read moremy travels, Wrench Craft is one of these hidden (?) gems! When you move to a new city, it takes a minute to find a solid mechanic as it is often word of mouth, luckily I found Wrench Craft pretty quickly. Not only did I get a word of mouth recommendation, it was by another locally well regarded mechanic who was unable to help on that particular day my Violette broke down. Dean spent a significant amount of time determining what turned out to be a complex issue, explained exactly what was happening, what my options were, what actually needed to be replaced, and what could wait a little longer. This was such a relief because money has been so tight and Violette (my sweet pathfinder) is my baby. When Violette started acting up again and I brought her back, Dean stayed and worked until the issue was resolved. Even though the part itself was at fault and not the work, Dean refused payment as he guarantees his work.
