We took it back thinking the repair would be no charge, but no! They found something unrelated to repair. More money! I'm not saying Car ER is incompetent. I do most of the repairs on their cars when they are home and knew their vehicles well- but when they were away I needed another option. These folks are prompt, highly communicative, HONEST, and their prices are excellent. I never had them quote for unnecessary repairs. They provided some helpful suggestions to do repairs that were reasonable for very old vehicles. They do quality repairs and they honor their work. When I had a rebuilt alternator fail about a year after replaced- they replaced it with no charge for the unit (just labor). I've also had brake work and other repairs done there with excellent outcomes. If you're looking for a reliable mechanic for your college student away from home and are worried about being taken advantage of by an unknown mechanic- rest easy. These folks are outstanding and trustworthy. I wish I had them in my town- they would be my go to mechanic every time!

When you move to a new city, it takes a minute to find a solid mechanic as it is often word of mouth, luckily I found Wrench Craft pretty quickly. Not only did I get a word of mouth recommendation, it was by another locally well regarded mechanic who was unable to help on that particular day my Violette broke down. Dean spent a significant amount of time determining what turned out to be a complex issue, explained exactly what was happening, what my options were, what actually needed to be replaced, and what could wait a little longer. This was such a relief because money has been so tight and Violette (my sweet pathfinder) is my baby. When Violette started acting up again and I brought her back, Dean stayed and worked until the issue was resolved. Even though the part itself was at fault and not the work, Dean refused payment as he guarantees his work.

If you discover something that you feel isn't quite right they will check it out and either explain it or fix the problem is appropriate. Rarely if ever happens though. The work isn't always completed when expected, but I think that is in part because they try to help in emergency situations which I can appreciate. I sat in the lobby / waiting room and at 1105am I was still in the lobby with my car still sitting out front with no service started. I approached the counter and spoke with a young man and informed him that I had been sitting for over an hour with an appointment and yet my car was still sitting out front with no service and no communication that they were running behind or there was any issue. I asked for my keys back and stated that my time is very important to me and that the lack of communication was unacceptable. As the young man went to the bay to retrieve my keys the manager entered the front door with his lunch that he had ordered and made contact with the young man in the bay area. They spoke briefly at which time the young man approached me and handed me my keys and walked away. No apology or any type of concern from the young man working the counter or the manager. While Iam a fan of the firestone product this type of business operation is not acceptable. I totally understand that things happen and often the customer is inconvenienced by unforeseen circumstances. However this lack of communication, customer service and general business ethics is not acceptable. Iam sure I can find another Tire Vendor (Goodyear. If Firestone is concerned about the overall business operation at the Harrisonburg, Virginia Facility I would certainly retain new management and a refresh of Customer Service Training for the staff you have working up front. Unfortunately I did not get the names of the staff I encountered but based on there ages mid to late 20's its obvious we have not empowered our younger folks or given them the proper tools to succeed in customer service and general business codes of conduct.
