I have been…read morebringing my dog to this groomer regularly for over two years and have always had positive experiences, which makes this situation even more upsetting. When I dropped her off, I requested her usual Yorkie puppy cut and specifically asked for a full haircut with her coat kept short for the summer. Instead, when I picked her up, she had been completely shaved. She looked nothing like the Yorkie puppy cut she has received for years. Unfortunately, the groomer was not present when I dropped her off or when I picked her up, so I never had the opportunity to discuss the haircut or understand what happened with the communication. I still don't know how my request was misunderstood. To make matters worse, I noticed when I got home that her tear stains had not even been cleaned, something I had to do myself. In the ten years I've owned my dog and had her groomed every couple of months, I have never had an experience this disappointing. I understand that hair grows back, but it is heartbreaking to see my dog completely shaved when that is not what I requested. I trusted this business based on our long history together, and I left feeling very sad and let down. I sincerely hope this feedback helps prevent another pet owner from having a similar experience in the future.

I either have to walk her at night with limited distractions or we don't walk. If we don't walk she gets very antsy and paces constantly. I was speaking about this to one associate and another overheard me who apparently had the same breed and issue. She showed me the harness she uses and told me to bring it back if it didn't fit or didn't help with my issue. First walk...amazing. It doesn't choke my dog by pulling against her neck but absolutely helps with the insistent pulling and yanking. We were able to go for a 1.5 miles today with one of my other dogs with no issue. She couldn't wiggle out of it and it was super helpful with guiding her on where I needed/wanted her to go instead of the pulling. Her overall demeanor after the walk was night and day too. I think it was just an easier walk overall for both of us which was so much more enjoyable.

It's only a YEAR later that I'm getting around to writing this review, and the experience with this company still makes me tear up, with gratitude! As a first-time client, I had some special requests, like keeping my dog's body for a few days while I finalized ideas for memorabilia. They honored my wishes with such grace and compassion. When I needed an urn, they went above and beyond, showing me their inventory so I could select the perfect one, as each wood option was uniquely cut and meaningful. Their attention to detail and genuine care for my situation made such a difference. Despite my attempts to give them a cash tip as a thank-you, they kindly refused and asked that I leave a review instead. So here it is (a YEAR later): Caring Pathways offers incredible service with a truly compassionate touch. I can't recommend them enough. The vet, Kaity, and her assistant that came to help us were just as much of a blessing as the ladies at the mortuary. You're all just the most extraordinary team of humans!! Thank you, again!!!! I will never take my pet here. I entered my information on their web portal for a future visit. I…read morewant to preface that I did request a busy time in which many folks are on vacation. I was told my reservation was pending and I needed a screening to take place. No problem! My dog is an amazing guy I knew he'd pass. The owner also asked me to please enter my credit card info. So I took time off work to take him there. He passed no issue. I asked the woman at the screening if it meant my dog was accepted and she said the reservation should go through and to be in touch. I wait a day after not hearing and go on their web portal to see my reservation was cancelled. At this point 5+ days have passed since I began the process because nobody there answers a phone and you can only contact them via their portal and wait for a response. After finally hearing from them the owner proceeds to tell me my dog will be on a waitlist. There never was any room for him to begin. She could've easily told me that BEFORE the screening, BEFORE she takes my credit card. She has the audacity to tell me it's a good lesson for me (which had me so angry I started to get emotional because I've lost five days of searching for a place for my beloved pet!). I tell her she could've been honest and she said "I get hundreds of calls per day." It's as easy as knowing your availability and looking at my dates. The end of the conversation told me everything I needed to hear to understand her real motivation--she said "Well the next time you go on vacation and you plan better you're all set up here to bring him here." She only ever cared about future $ and manipulatively making it "easy" the next time I need a place. Gross way to operate. She has no idea of my situation. She has no idea the place my pet was scheduled far in advance had to close for a time that happens to fall when my dog was scheduled because of a COVID sickness. I don't expect her to accommodate my dog when she has no room. I do expect honesty and professionalism which seems greatly lacking. I'd not trust her with my best friend and beloved dog.

I was charged $60 for a no show. However, I was informed that I had no more visits on my pass. But since I had not cancelled my future reservations, they were happy to charge me. In the past I had also overlooked a few things. One if which is when they used to take calls, I asked if I could stop by to feed my dogs. (I thought they were fed by my partner). I was told that it was not possible because all doors are locked after 9 am! Strange that I was refused access to my fur babies. As a result, I've never seen what it's like once they are dropped off. You receive a photo or two of them and a report card. No webcam. The portal to make reservations and buy passes is also confusing and cumbersome. They also don't take calls now and all communication is via email to a generic email. Sometimes it's just good to be able to talk to someone. They will also not hesitate to use a bark collar on your fur baby if they think it's necessary. If you're looking for a warm and fuzzy customer facing experience, this isn't it. There isn't a reception. You pass your dog to someone at the gate. They hand over you dog through the gate when you pickup. Location is off an extremely busy road. When you leave the facility, you'd better step on the gas as the traffic coming down the hill is usually is at least 70 miles an hour. I hope this helps others make an informed decision about this establishment.

We honestly weren't sure if we were equipped to keep him since we didn't have any experience training a dog with fearful/aggressive behaviors, but we decided to meet with a trainer. Vanessa was really clear and straightforward with us from the start about what we could expect from training. She's been an amazing teacher-- we've learned a ton about what causes his reactivity, how to read his body language, how to keep him and others safe, and of course how to train better behaviors into him. Our dog has made a TON of progress, and we were recently able to step down from weekly to monthly sessions. We can take him on hikes and walks comfortably, and he's getting more and more comfortable seeing other dogs around. He's a totally different dog than the jumpy and unpredictable lil boy we brought home from the shelter last year. I highly recommend working with Vanessa if you're looking for a trainer.
