Now, Terry's allows feeding, petting and close up photography of their bison. The resort is a ranch and not the Four Seasons, so let's dial down our expectations and recognize the workings of the ranch. There will be dirt, poop, feathers, hair, urine, and unkempt struck and other things gentle folk may find unsavory. We found the ranch charming. We have experienced many close encounters with wild bison and most were less than rewarding, but exciting. Terry removes this. The train creaks, and groans into the herd. Windows open, and your bison friend pop up for food. You can touch them and enjoy close photos/videos. Kids will love this and animal lovers also. Your trip back the platform will provide some ranch insights and views of horse stables. That was our visit. You may also trail ride on horseback and even participate in dude ranching. If there was a Yelp event with only this petting zoo, I would go. Forget the food trucks, free booze, and dj'ed rooms, I want the petting zoo. Pony Express had sheep, goats, a llama, an alpaca, a camel, a donkey, a calf, a duck, a rabbit, chickens. I petted them all, held a chicken who hooked my lip during its escape, tried to bait the llama (it showed disdain), inadvertently hit on a girl while talking to the camel, and took lots of picture. My party experience that night began and ended with the petting zoo in both reality and verbal recounts. This place is great!

We especially enjoyed getting to know all of the alpacas, along with the hilarious three brother goats who definitely put on a performance for us! We learned so much about alpaca behavior, personalities, eating habits, the shearing process, and the care involved in raising them. It was also fascinating to see the finished alpaca products, including socks, hats, gloves, sweaters, and blankets, and to better understand the process from animal to finished product.
