I'm sorry but this rating requires an explanation. What's that you say? That's what Yelp is for? Oh…read moregood, then I guess I'm in the right place.
Let me first start by saying that the sushi is wonderful, fresh, and delicious. The decor is impeccable, and the service is outstanding. Actually, the last part is a lie. The service is terrible, and even beyond the normal terrible service you've come to expect, if that's imaginable. I get it. It's different here, it's not about the service. I'm not even talking about that, I mean it's bad, as in leaving raw fish in the "window" for over 20 minutes, passing it no less than ten times bad service.
But I digress. Yes the food quality is great; yes I'm happy to have sushi so close to my apartment, but under no circumstances can I consider paying a premium for the cost to quantity ratio that is nothing short of abysmal. The portions are very small. Normally, I eat one maki roll and some sashimi; here, I needed (not wanted) two maki rolls and sashimi and to be quite honest, I was still hungry.
The rolls are rather uninspiring and lack the creativity that I've come to expect, and such is life. At these prices it pains me to say that my hunt for a regular sushi spot goes on. Damn you, Kibuka!
