The prices are ridiculous...level 3 tanning is $1100 yearly....zoom tan level5 is $399 yearly!

I'm a small business owner so I see how the staff multi-task. As it's Wedding & Prom season you'd think the management/owners would have more than 1 girl on, especially after 4pm & weekends. I personally want to say "shame on them". They are definitely taking advantage of their staff. I've been going to this location on and off for about 4 years and that has never changed. It is spotless, the wait and service is actually impressive, again, being that there is only 1 staff member on. That's signing new members up, setting them up for their first time, cleaning the beds, selling products, washing towels, and now setting clients up for red light therapy, taking phone calls, possibly more behind the scenes we don't see...1 staff member. SMH So for the staff, I give them 5 stars. For the cheap owners that are trying to get the most out of their staff and keeping their payroll low, I'd give them a 1 star. Oh, I don't like the music but I keep forgetting to bring earplugs so that's on me. read more

No photos needed of this chain tanning facility! If you dont know what a tanning bed looks like, then you probably aren't considering this place. This location is always clean. They have 5 levels of tanning beds, including lay-down and stand-up. They also have the sunless tanning versa spa. In fact, they recently got the new versa spa with heaters! Game changer. Prices are set by the chain. Staff is friendly. I normally am in and out, although last time there was a small line and only one person at the desk. I have also had issues with the desk attendant telling me there is a cap to the number of minutes I can tan. While I can appreciate the concern for someone burning, I know my skin. Also, other locations don't do this and will let you tan for however long you want. Overall, this is a reliable location and I continue to tan here seasonally. read more

Just a heads up to all. The spray tan booth does NOT have the required nose plugs to keep you from inhaling the DHA chemical spray. While DHA is FDA approved (for external use), there is NO data on internal. It reacts with your skin cells on the outside - then what's it doing to you lungs? There is no data on this and could have adverse effects years later, for those using it on a regular basis. Tommys Tanning - GET THE REQUIRED safety plugs for us !!!!!!! read more

Even after I went in and cancelled they still charged my account and refuse to refund me. It was their mistake and they're only offering store credit!!! Never going here again. Going to buy product and sell to try to recoup my money. Less than one star. read more

Went for tan free weekend! Got a spray tan FOR FREE!! I saw a recent review on here before going, nose plugs for sprays are NOT required by the fda. I asked while I was there what dha is and found out it's safe! They also have nose plugs along with other spray stuff to buy! Happy I asked!! read more

Don't go here. I'm serious. If you're in high school and are friends with the snobby bubble heads behind the counter, then you'll probably like it. IF you're a professional adult who likes to tan, go else where. For a place that advertises a lot of beds that are always open! Believe me, you'll end up waiting in a crammed waiting room. Friends of the above mentioned bubbleheads behind the counter seem to get first choice of the beds. There are never any towels, especially during peak times. The $24.95 per month beds are weak and every other option above that is over priced. If you expect to tan between March and May, forget it. It's prom season for the local high schoolers and the atmosphere mirrors that. Not a relaxing place at all. The parking situation is awful; the spaces are way too small and certain businesses will not let you park in front if you're not there for that specific business. Tommy's Tanning: Nothing special. read more

I love Tommy's. The reviews that are negative are people who didn't take the time to read over the contract and that no ones fault but theirs. The girls are always so helpful and friendly. I ask a question and I get an answer. They even mention to me when the best time to upgrade is so I get the most bang for my buck. The billing cycle isn't hard to figure out. Think of it like a gym membership. Set a reminder on your phone to go off on the 14th if you don't want to be billed. The girls keep the place clean and nice. I'd recommend Tommy's to anyone I know. Meg and Regina there are awesome! read more

I went last year and everyone was welcoming and the room was clean. I enjoyed my free tanning session.

Julia has terrible customer service skills! I asked if my daughter who was wearing a mask can sit in the lobby and wait for me while I tan, she said this one time it was okay. I got undressed and started my tan, a minute in Julia turned off the bed and was yelling that I had to come out, my daughter couldn't be in the salon lobby due to Covid rules. At this point she could have just allowed me to finish my tan due to her mistake of allowing it in first place for the sake of customer service. After getting dressed and having my tan stopped she told me it was okay after all and I could go back in. Terrible customer service to have a customer jump in and out of the bed because you don't put customer experience first. If the answer was no, it should have been no from the beginning, not creating a mess of an experience at the expense of the customer. She was argumentative, rude and yelling at me the customer. Last time I checked tanning was a luxury not a necessity, a tanning establishment should treat their customers with much more respect and appreciation read more

Im surprised to see such bad reviews of this place. Awesome service! I had never had a Spray tan before and the young lady showed me how to use machine and was super polite and professional. Very clean space and easy to get to. I didn't wait at all. There were many people that came in and they were all assisted quickly. I had a great experience and would definitely go back. read more

!!!!!!!BEWARE SHADY PAYMENT POLICY!!!!!!!!!!Not to bad of a place but they have a shady billing policy!!! I went and got a month of tanning, it was on the 18th of the month so I was still charged for a full month even though it would be over on the 15th. I was told that my next month would be pro rated making it a little cheaper due to the fact I paid for a month but didn't actually get a full month. This would have been acceptable except no one explained that in order for that to happen I would have to not cancel my membership and have two consecutive months. So when I canceled and went back a month later they could see what I was talking about payment wise from that month but said there was nothing they could do for me because I had canceled my membership rather then letting it roll over. Maybe if it was explained to me like that I would have done that instead their scam worked!!! read more

I've gone here on and off when I have eczema flare ups for about two years. The place is clean, there's never a wait for beds (they have over 20) and I think $30/month for basic tannning is reasonable. They're also open til 10 which is a plus! read more

I felt I needed to write this review after my experience. I as well had a billing issue. I cancelled my membership for the season but the girl didn't process it. I didn't notice for quite sometime. I called corporate and spoke to Mandy. I have to admit ( to my embarrassment ) I was very rude. I said things to her that were not appropriate. Mandy stayed professional and did not give me attitude or a tone at any point in our two conversations (I hung up with her and then called back) Since she stayed patient with me, we did end up with a resolution. Thank you Mandy. As far as the staff being snotty!! I have not (in the years going here) experienced that. The staff has always been very friendly to me. It seems that every tanning season I make friends with the girls! read more

Although I have always had good service and been put in room 9 for a spray tan yesterday I put in room one.. I highly recommend you ask to go in room 9 room looks like shit and I have prom today read more

Don't go here. I agree with another review about the "bubble heads" and letting others in front of you. The girl I dealt with today pulled a low shady move. I will never go here again. I'm extremely pressed for time, quickly stop in the Wallingford location. The blonde behind the counter told me there was "someone in there now (level 4 bed), and then two other after them. And then your next". Another words I had at least a 24 minute wait waiting for 2 full sessions and half of one to complete. I asked her when I should come back, she stated "a half hour". Fine, I went into the parking lot and waited in my car. I returned in 25 minutes. Here's the best part! She tells me that now there are three full ppl ahead of me including the guy sitting in the waiting area who wasn't there before. I ask her how that's possible when she previously told me 2, and now it's three different ppl. So 5 ppl were to go ahead of me before it was my turn. She stated "I called your name but you weren't here". Wait..... I can add. 12+12 plus the person finishing, and then time to undress, lotion up, dress, and clean the bed equals way more than 24 minutes. So how come there was an opportunity to slip 3 ADDITIONAL ppl in front of me. Simple math, doesn't add up. So while she's arguing with me, what I assumed was her friend, was sitting behind the counter eating subway, watching this exchange. As were other customers. And then I ask her how this is possible- she said " you left"! I left?!?! BECAUSE YOU told me to come back. And I did. In LESS time than you said to return by. I proceeded to sit down next to the guy who mysteriously was able to tan before me. And the unprofessional immature girl behind the counter began mumbling, I assume not so nice things. Thankfully, my teenage dtr would never treat someone this way. I left Wallingford, drive down rt 5 to north haven where I was pleasantly greeted by Francesca, who after hearing my story, apologized for the terrible behavior from the girl in Wallingford. I've tanned a cpl times in North Haven. The girls are much friendlier. Btw- Francesca explained how the waiting works.... She said your name goes in the system, in order, and that "we control the order". Wtg Wallingford, for being today's asshat of the day. Sincerely, Angry Tommy's tanning member. read more

The girls that work there are very snobby. When you ask a question they talk to you like you're a moron. They don't let you just pay for 1 month at a time you have to cancel each month you don't want to be billed for. It's not very convenient at all. After my "membership" is up I'm going to a different salon. read more

The girls at the front desk were very short and gave me no information about the spray tan booth. It was my first time at ANY Tommy's tanning and my first time using the spray booth. She didn't give me any information about how to use the machine or what to do. My tan came out very "spotty", I was not 100% happy with it. I think it's time for this location to hire some new staff... read more
