Then they will bring over an item you are not shopping for and say "thought you might like this-I'll put it in your dressing room." If I need help I will ask. Otherwise your team looks desperate.

It's already wrapped up, just waiting for my husband to give it to me. (Wink, wink.) I met Jill, the owner, and she remembered by name after one visit. I have since been by 4 times and I love that there is always something cool worth buying every time I stop in. I bought a dress that my husband raves about, a warm, stylish sweater that gets me compliments, that purse I mentioned earlier, a silly winter hat, lip balm, and they are ordering a skirt for me as soon as the local designer they buy from makes another in my size. By shopping here, not only am I supporting local artisans, but a local business owner too. But there are interesting European products, too. I think this store is like a better curated Quince. Happy shopping here finally has removed the negative psychic residue from all the Peapods icky customer service that my friends and I had also experienced in that location. It's much friendlier and nicer too.

It really goes all out and has 57 million different stores. Of course they're going to have a store that is dedicated entirely to socks. I can't say that I love the concept. I like store but the employees weren't very friendly and the prices were a little on the high side because I'm used to paying dirt cheap prices for socks. They do have a great selection though so that's a plus.

So, went to the M of A, a place I avoid whenever possible, but they used to be a good, helpful store. Got there, asked about wool knee highs for wide calves. The male assistant rather indifferently pointed out two. Both for narrow calves. I explained that I had called in advance and was told they did have socks for wide calves. I asked if they had knee highs in any other material for wide calves. He waved his hand around, totally disinterested and suggested basically said I should just look myself and made it clear he was totally indifferent. He told me to try the mens socks. I am female, elderly, and small. I felt that my age and gender made him feel I was a waste of his so valuable time.

The only problem is they are a bit expensive on this girl's Marshall's budget. We always feel sick after buying stuff at Quicksilver, "We just bought this shirt for how much?!" Hope we're okay with whittling away our future children's college fund! But low and behold while strolling around Mall of America this past week we stumble across this Quicksilver location. My husband didn't even want to go in at first reminding me of how expensive it is but I spotted a 50% table, we found 2 items. I asked the sales guys whether this sign was too good to be true, I've never seen a 50% sign at Quicksilver. "Nope, everything there is 50% off," he replied. Not wanting to deal with it later (this was the last stop during our full day of shopping) I asked, "You want to check on that before I quote you on it later." He said sure and confirmed it. At that point we looked up to see racks and racks of 50% off clothing, sweaters and jackets. Jackpot! We racked up $300 of half priced, non sales taxed, quality clothing forcing us to buy an additional bag to fly home with. The sales guy who helped us was really friendly and helpful, price checking everything we were unsure of. He had a long day too, having flown in from CO that morning to work the day after Christmas in the largest mall in the area. You would never know it from his helpful attitude and willingness to start up a conversation. This place made our shopping experience!

It's mostly accessories, which to me is so fun to shop for. Bag charms are in right now and they had some cool ones. It is right next door to Coach so definitely hard to make decisions but like I said Kate Spade has more of a unique edge over the competition.

I am surprised to not find a single review of the store on Yelp. Despite what the directory in the mall reads, Heritage 1981 carries a great selection of men's clothing, much of it at a similar (or slightly lower) price point to H&M. Heritage 1981 is a subsidiary of Forever 21. The fashion here is similar to H&M, but different enough to make it worth stopping by on a quarterly basis. Some great finds for me at Heritage have been: spring/fall outerwear, tees, hoodies, and accessories. I have received countless "where did you get that ________" about my Heritage 1981 items, and I like the fact that most of the people asking that question are unaware of this store when I respond.
