Cake was a dream!!…read more I've wanted to do a style session with @catpolivoda ever since she started offering them. I was in Minneapolis for work and had the opportunity to finally go. It was worth every minute and every penny. Cat's guidance enabled me to reexamine what I actually like and NOT through the lens of "flattering," but through the lens of how to style and wear pieces. Together, we discovered what I love. Cat's framework helped me evaluate what actually makes me happy. I bought so much that it had to get mailed back home! This store is an amazing safe space. If life brings you to Minneapolis, RUN TO CAKE AND TO CAT! And if you can't make it IRL, PLEASE scroll through their online shop and make something previously loved your own. Shop fat-owned, shop woman-owned, shop queer-owned!

Be warned. Read all the reviews. Believe them…read more Pros: the store is neat, tidy, uncluttered and the clothes are clean and pressed. No creepy "used" smell that some re-stores get. Cons: A visit to this store was depressingly negative. These people do not buy and sell clothes. They buy and sell a social statement with a side of snark. It's plastered on their walls. It's in their stringent and judgemental buy/sell policies and it's in the staff's sneering underbelly of an attitude the moment you walk in the door. Hey. The cause is important. Love that they stand tall for fat people. But my plea is to do it with dignity and pride. Make me want to be a part of you! March in a parade. Wear the ribbon. Sit on your elected officials doorstep. Post on social media.... And yes, buy and sell fat clothes. But do it with a smile on your face and exude some honest joy for working hard for your cause. I want to join that movement. Not the one with a chip on their shoulder.

On a normal basis, the staff are friendly, greet you shortly after you walk in and inform you of any sales. I had a gift card to spend and a few items in my mind of what I would like to get. After browsing around for a bit, I collected a few items I wanted to try on. A gal was nice enough to come and ask if she can get a dressing room started for me. This was nice as I didn't have to carry around the items while I looked around a bit more. While trying on the tops I had chosen, an employee knocked on the door and asked if they could get me any other sizes, which I gladly asked for one of the shirts I tried on. Margaret was able to quickly find the shirt in a new size for me to try on which I later purchased. Leaving the dressing room to browse some more, Margaret kindly asked if she could help and what I was looking for. What surprised me is she took it a few steps further and walked with me around the store, asked my style and preferences, and picked out several pieces for me. I have never gotten that level of customer service before from such a professional, honest, and polite person. Trying on the items chosen, she gladly grabbed new sizes for me a few other times in a very prompt matter. I was going to grab them myself after trying everything on but she was too quick and attentive. She definitely added to my shopping experience and helped me find several pieces I purchased. The store itself was upkept and clean. There are plenty of dressing rooms for times that may get busy. I like this location as it is a bit bigger than other locations nearby and it has a decent variety.

I hope this store is located in Mall of America. It is so perfect! I walked info the store and…read morewas greeted by Isa. She is the queen of customer service and styling. I wasn't offered any help with sizes while trying on. Online I checked and it said they closed at 9:30. Around 8:50 I was wrapping up at 9:02 I was just gathering my things and an employee "Lily" came and said the store and whole mall is close so you know. I wasn't given a warning about time at all. I said oh I'm sorry can I still purchase. She said yeah. I apologize again and explained that online it says they're open till 9:30. She snapped raising her voice saying the whole mall has ALWAYS closed at 9. Very annoyed with me I felt so uncomfortable and awkward having to buy my stuff. Will definitely not return to this store and do not recommend torrid at MOA or Lily

Several sizes, fabric types, design styles and colors to choose from with all items (shirts, pants, shorts, bras, underwear and more). The cashier was genuinely kind. Her name is Anna and she was incredibly helpful and very kind in helping it so so much. The brand often has sales and those are great options for buying and coupons as well for a great price.

I love how they ask your name for the dressing room and write it on a little placard to reserve the dressing room for you and check in with you, by name, every now and then. I got some amazing deals while I was there too! Buy One, Get One for $5 on clearance items and 5 for $30 panties. Though the panties were separated by size, my OCD was a little triggered by the way they were all tumbled into bins. Took a bit of digging around to find what I wanted, but I found 5 really nice pairs. Lane Bryant in General: Honestly, the only reason this place got a star knocked off was because of Lane Bryant in general -- for a place that specifically caters to larger ladies, I would think that they understand that the width to height ratio on standard clothing is askew for large women. Just because I am a size 26 around, doesn't mean I'm 6 feet tall! I'm so tired of having to spend more to have my pants altered, and usually wouldn't even buy pants at Lane Bryant for this reason (since their clothes are already more expensive than they're really worth). But, luckily, I was able to find a pair of "jeggings" that fit perfectly - my only complaint is that there are faux pockets, so they aren't completely practical to use as jeans, although I love the fit. But I shouldn't have to buy jeggings or capris just to both fit into and not trip over my pants!!!
