Took my dodge charger 2014 rt to them, to get my exhaust remounted (became loose) and manifolds replaced. Once done they called me, I come by and get my car back. Immediately realize it has a slow start, low acceleration and that exhaust leak is still very much leaking. After 3 days of waiting for a new update, they claim its spark plugs and ignition coils. I agree to pay, hoping that they have my back. $900 manifold replacement and now $1175 sparkplugs, coils and tune. I go back to test drive it, car is still sluggish and completely different then when dropped off. They tell me a dodge technician will come by, after a week of waiting they want $1850 for a real seal oil leak. Which turns out to be true but wouldn't even fix the problem they created. Eventually I take it to a new shop to see what's really going on. Took it to Carter's Automotive and they physically showed me that one of my manifolds was siliconed on and not welded, also that when Tomball Muffler and Brake was welding only the one, that they burnt all my wiring to my ecu, pcm and all the computer components. Another 2k spent just to get it back to how it was. Overall 4k wasted because of their ignorance. After 3 total weeks of this, I finally got it back and took it directly to Tomball Muffler and Brake. I wanted to test their accountability. I simply explained what happened, me and the owner popped the hood. Unfortunately Carter's accidentally left a screwdriver in the engine bay but I rather an accident like that then burning all my wiring to what tells my car how to function. I show him paperwork proof of all the repairs and notes of his mistakes. He and his worker then feed me bs, saying "when the silicone burns off, the manifold will still be attached" yea right. Its says in their yellow receipt "2x welded manifolds." He then goes on to say "maybe I can see how us putting a hot welding tool, could accidentally burn up some wiring when working towards that area, but that's what fuses are for." One thing I will give them, owner agreed to meet to fix his manifold mistake but nothing mentioned about 1k in wiring damage. For 1. I already corrected his mistake 2. I tested his trust once again, face to face. He failed me, blowing smoke up mine and thinking I'm clueless about my own car. This family owned business is the ONLY place I will trust to take my truck to. This truck was my father's whom has now passed, and it is very important to me. David fixed it up right, and was upfront and honest about what was wrong with it. He fixed it that same day, and even gave us a ride back to our home to wait in comfort. Went in for some exhaust Re-routing on a lifted truck 1 year ago. No body showed up until 9:30 am. Supposed to open at 8:00am. As I explained the issue the mechanic fella proceeded to tell me that instead of fixing my issue I should go take the lift off. Very condescending and not friendly. So I went to another shop. My morning was wasted because of these people. I'm posting a year later because the negative review I left last year is gone. That's weird. Pretty sure the positive reviews are fake. This place is exact what it looks like. A few good guys running a car repair facility that's been a staple in Tomball for years. David has done at least 5 full systems for me. In fact, I'm here now having exhaust work done to my Avalanche. Is it dirty? Yep. It's a car repair shop that specializes in the two dirtiest parts off a car. The brakes and the exhaust. If you want a boutique auto shop go to Caliber where it's super clean. Been there. Had to go back three times for one water pump repair AND pay a diagnostic fee of $120 for them to tell me what I already knew, then charge me $230 more than the dealer would have. The guys in Tomball do a great job, help people that need it, and are just simply good guys. Any negative reviews should be examined carefully and look at the source of the bitching. I'll keep coming back to Tomball muffler. You go have your Starbucks at the boutique shops. Thanks for making all my rides sound epic, ya filthy bastards!! read more

Are you looking for a run down super dirty exhaust shop run by rude rednecks? Are you looking to waste a better part of your day getting nothing fixed? Then this IS the place for you!! I called ahead and asked David the owner if they could tap or weld in 2 exhaust studs on a 3 bolts exhaust manifold. Super easy job and was quoted $30-50 out the door. Lastly I explain that this is for a car I'm selling and the buyer is flying in from Chicago 1st thing the following day so it needs to be done today. No big deal if you cant, just tell me I'll take it to another local shop who can, no worries. Sure he says...bring it up he says... So after arriving and waiting in the "showroom" for David for 10 minutes while the guy up front was to busy stuffing his face with a wopper to help, we jus went out back and found David yapping it up for another 15 minutes with his old Baby sitter. No I'm not joking, it was absolutely painful to listen to and I was seriously waiting for Jerry Springer to pop out from behind a broken down car. So finally after nearly 30 min of bs we finally show him the 2 studs we need installed and left. At 5pm I call back to get an update only to be told it was never touched and they weren't even sure if they would be able to fix it! Absolute Idiots. Didn't even apologize for wasting my time or give excuse as to what happened. And when I went to pick the vehicle up I was given the same wait in the showroom treatment for a solid 10 minutes before they even came inside to give me my keys back. Horrible customer service. Dirty run down shop. Owner does NOT stand behind what he says. Go to a professional shop if you want professional results. I ended up going right down the street to another local exhaust shop who fixed it for $50 while In waited! Took him 45 minutes! read more

I have a lifted Tacoma on 35x12.50s. after much trial and error with driveline vibration I decided to install a trans drop kit to lower my tail shaft. this fixed the driveline issue but caused some slight exhaust pipe interference. I went to this shop to have them adjust and Re weld my exhaust. the "head" Mechanic was in the office with his wife. basically told me I was an idiot and shouldn't have messed with my truck. treated me like a moron. didn't seem like he was interested in doing anything for me. so I left. read more

I don't wish to spread negativity, but awareness. We took our truck in to have a converter welded on, an alignment, and have the spark plugs changed. Brian, broke off a spark plug off into the engine. He then had to take engine apart to get it out which took an entire month. He called and said it was ready, and it wasn't. Not a big surprise. He said he used a power tool to remove the spark plugs and that's why it broke off. Spark plugs should be hand torqued only. We bought all of the parts for the head, which cost more than the converter being welded on cost and we're not reimbursed. On top of that, one of the new spark plugs that was supposed to be put in was still unused and clean in the box and in the trucks cup holder at pick up. We also had the alignment checked, and they never did that either, he also left the AC sensor disconnected. He wanted to charge 1300 dollars for labor to fix what he broke. We obviously refused. Brian then got the owner, David, on the phone and stated that he "should have done a half assed job on it" if he knew we wouldn't want to pay for the labor he had to do to get the piece he broke out. David told Brian to give us the keys and let us take it. He did do a half assed job on it, point blank. David has now called threatening us with the police and accusing us of bringing it in broken and trying to blame it on them, he also told me if I knew how to change spark plugs then why didn't we do it ourselves. Not to mention my lost wages because we were reduced to 1 vehicle for a whole month. Beware of this place, the filthy condition of the shop should have been the first clue. Very unprofessional, they both need to grow up and own up to their mistakes. I don't think they have insurance either, so if they mess something up in your vehicle, they'll try to make you fully liable for it. Reply: The trucks spark plugs we're properly put in prior to bringing it. Brian was very rude and stated that he broke it using an impact tool. Old and filthy are two different words. He also said he checked the AC, so yes he did mess with it. Now I wonder if they swapped good parts for junk parts since he apparently did stuff we didn't ask for and it took a whole month. I hear Brian was fired before and then brought back for some reason. If you own and run a business, and one of your employees breaks something, the business owner is responsible. We have talked to many other mechanics, they confirmed an impact tool should never be used for that and also that if a mechanic damages a customer vehicle then the business is responsible. We were fully intending to pay David for welding the converter on until Brian said he should have done a half assed job, so we decided not to. I was sent here because I couldn't find a shop to install a muffler for me. I figured since it was their specialty they would do good. Well, the new muffler was just clamped on and I left with a burbling sound coming from my exhaust. That was reason I had replaced my muffler in the first place. Had to get it welded on correctly elsewhere. At least this shop was cheap, but it was filthy dirty as well. read more

A great small shop with an honest and very nice mechanics! We went in for what we thought were much needed brake pads. After taking off all the tires and giving all the brakes, emergency pads included, informed us that we had 60000 miles left before we needed new pads. They encouraged us to come back in 20000 miles and they would would check it for us. The most impressive thing was that they took time to teach our kids about alignments and other things. They were just very kind and professional. They then didn't charge us for any of that!!! AMAZING!! We were there for 90 minutes and they would not accept payment! Sat there with my truck almost 5 hours to get a flange looked at that was it, they weren't that busy either kept telling me I was next in line and would have a truck on the lift that had been there for maybe an hour. They can't follow directions! New Catalytic System had 4 Oxygen Sensors. They had 2 in the wrong locations and 1 of 4 wasn't even plugged in! I had to fix myself on Sunday for my son! Don't trust these guys to get it right! How smart do you have to be to plug in 4 connectors???? read more
