Food not even that good but the owner acted so rude to pay customers over a kids birthday cake! Disgusting! They should be shut down!

service was horrible staff rude went for my self to see if the food was good it was horrible and we all know about the cake........

$23.00 cheesesteak...the roll tasted like it was a week old, the sandwich was so lame, no one ate it...get real tomatoes...this sandwich sucked. read more

Wow what a place the food was off the hook !! Hot and the prices were very good as well I would eat there over and over go there

I have been ordering from you guys for years. The food I had from you tonight was absolutely so embarrassing on your part, because I always make a point to tell everyone to go to your place for food. I ordered an Italian hot dog it was totally disgusting and so greasy, I guess because I ordered it towards the end of the night when you were ready to close. And your chicken orzo soup, was also disgusting, the noodles were soggy like they were sitting in the pot all day. I work at a high class place in forked River, and I'm a head caterer, and I know good food when I see it. First order ever placed with you guys after being here for 4 years that I was ever disappointed. read more

Tomatoes Pizzeria - Pizza Near Me - Forked River, New Jersey

Lovey staff. Great food. Service is always great. No complaints, best place in the area

We got the cheesesteaks in the past and they were very good. Ordered FIVE if them for a small gathering. Specifically asked them to NOT prep them ahead of time and we would willingly wait for them to be ready. Turned out I got there ahead of time since traffic was minimal. The order of five cheesesteaks was sitting on top of a fridge when I got there 15 minutes before the requested pick up time. OK, they were good in the past so .... Now this was a gathering and we happily shared what we thought would be great cheesesteaks. We did't pay for sub-par food. There was FAR less meat than last time but the price was significantly higher. The bread was actually rubbery. I considered using the ends for some tennis practice the following day. Not sure what happened to this establishment but the quality is WAY lower than it was. I have this event in my home every 8 weeks but I will not be using Tomatoes for any future events. Very disappointed and more than a little embarrassed. read more

Probably one of the best cheesesteaks in town, they have good cheese fries as well... I'm not sure why there's so many bad reviews on here, but I can tell you that I've never had a bad meal here. read more

Fantastic pizza and cheesesteaks, all these reviews from years ago are incorrect. This place is the spot on Lacey road

New to the area and tried this place out for the first time. Very satisfied!! Outstanding Pizza!!! Friendly service!! Will be back again.

Some things are good and some things are awful. Anything involving being fried, don't get it's completely saturated in oil and soggy. (an example would be the eggplant parmesan sandwich that had so much cheese and oil on it that the bread completely fell apart) Salads aren't awful. Their regular pizza is pretty good! we have ordered from this place three times now, first one being a great experience we ordered salad and Basilico -- Aioli Pizza (which was very good) second time we ordered we got salad and an eggplant parm sandwich (as mentioned above it was awful and wasn't edible) Thinking the second time was a fluke we decided to give them another chance since the first time was pretty good! Ordered two salads and a Sicilian style pizza. The salads were ok, the dressings was meh. The pizza was a completely different story! they use far too much cheese that it's completely soaked in oil from it, the crust was completely soft and mushy from either not being baked long enough or from the amount of oil that was on the pizza itself. Taking the pizza off of the paper within the box to keep it from sticking was a nightmare and made the crust fall apart because the amount of cheese they cake onto it dried by the time it arrived. Since we gave them a fair shot, at this point I wouldn't recommend this place for delivery (eating in might be a different story), there are better local options. read more

Very sad how this place is hit or miss... wanted to give it at least 2-3 stars but can't. Pathetic romaine lettuce with some brownish lettuce... gross... chicken in their salad is better at fast food chains( found a giant core from the romaine in the salad, disgusting, inexcusable. The pizza tasted as if it sat for hours- then was reheated. Dried out garbage. Last time you will get our hard earned money. Good luck! read more

Best Pizza anywhere. Great ingredients. Very difficult decision, do I want Regular Pizza, Brooklyn style, or Grandma, they are all so amazing, I never know which one to have. Joey is the best, he made me a regular pie with Brooklyn Sauce the last time I was there. Best of all worlds. The Burgers are amazing. Joey's Cheesesteak has so much on it you can feed 4 people. Ya Gotta Go to Tomatoes read more

I absolutely love Tomatoes pizzeria. Not only is the food great, it's fast, and I have never met anyone there that wasn't friendly and helpful. When we move to Georgia next year this will definitely be one of my top missed places. Thank you Staff of Tomatoes for always being nice, clean, friendly, helpful and making some great, great pizza and food!!! read more

I read all the great reviews so we figured we'd give it a shot....and we were not disappointed. The pizza is well above average in my opinion. Sauce, crust, and cheese was all great. I have not tried the other foods, but the pizza is well recommended!! read more

Horrible! Salad consisted of a few shreds of lettuce underneath my fish in the same tray, so the lettuce got cooked. Dry pasta with just a couple grains of cheese on it. They asked if I wanted napkins and utensils. I said yes, but never got them. God forbid if they had to throw in a slice of bread. read more

My husband and I have ordered delivery a few times and we were extremely satisfied. Everything was so good especially the Italiano pizza! Good service and great food! read more

The pizza tasted poorly. The cheesesteak pizza was horrible. They used spreadable cheese and out it on top of the pizza and forgot to put on the peppers. A lunchable would of been a better pizza than this read more

Seriously? Subpar pizza and the meatballs are clearly frozen store bought, might as well have gone to Costco! Very disappointing. Epic fail Joey! read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Been going here since they opened last year. Great food! Grandma pie may be the best pie in town. Owner is a great guy that takes pride in his product and service. read more

Delivery took 1 hour, granted it was a Friday night, but I still think that is way too long. We ordered pizza and a steak sandwich. When the food did come, the pizza was luke warm, yuk. We ordered mushrooms and sausage. The mushrooms were from a can and were horrible. The sausage used was good and was sliced pieces, which I like, if you could find it on the pizza. The buffalo chicken cheesesteak was good. The roll used was excellent, they did not toast the sandwich which is the way all steak sandwiches should be. It was prepared well and tasted good. The only thing I would have liked more is if they had used more meat, at times it felt like I was eating a good roll with buffalo chicken flavoring. read more

Great pizza! I recommend Grandmas pizza... it's delicious! If you are not in the mood for pizza, their wings are pretty good although they are advertised as buffalo you can also have them on bbq sauce... YUM! read more

Grandma pie rocks and so does their cheesesteaks (I love the cheese cheesesteak on garlic bread!). Delivery guy Austin was very friendly too. Def recommend. read more

Been here a few times. Long wait times, but great food. Pizza is very good, and the sandwiches are better! Chicken parm with vodka sauce is awesome! Definitely worth the wait. One of the better "pizza places" in the area read more

I have doubts about this place, the first time I ordered from them was really good and I liked it but the next few times were not as good as the first one. They messed up my order 3 times in 3 different occasions. I'm not sure if I would give it another chance. read more

Store bought, frozen meatballs heated in a microwave. The "specialty" stuffed pizza is not something to brag about and the pizza is subpar at best. Epic fail! read more

I've tried just about every pizzarea in a 10 mile radius, and I haven't found one better than tomatoes. Have ordered dozens of times and never been disappointed. Some of the most unique and delicious specialty pies I've ever seen. Definitely recommend the Italiano and Russian grandma. read more

Best pizza I have had in the area, met all my expectations and more. Highly recommend the home style pie!

We moved here 3 years and never tried Joey's. We must have ordered from every local pizza place and we never said wow. The meal was unbelievably excellent, from the gnocchi to the pizza. Definitely try it. read more

With a name like that, how can you resist trying it? Pizza was great. service rocked. Only regret was i didn't get to try the Grandma's pie everyone raves about. Will have to visit again without the kids. Kudos! read more

Joey Tomato's is awesome. High quality ingredients, good prices, and consistently delicious food no matter what you order. Staff is also very down to earth and friendly. Definitely check out the grandma's pie as other reviewers have suggested. read more

Not very good at all... I hated them name and refused to try and one day there was a line at the bank next door so I said what the heck... Bad choice pizza was weak service was ehhh. Wish it was still a bakery everyone else has failed since. read more

Grandma pizza is really good however, never fails almost every time we order food something is always wrong or omitted entirely, Well at least they're consistent, I guess read more

Joey tomato's, what can I say? Cheap management, cheap food, and cheap service, for cheap people. I specifically asked for 4 pieces of pepperoni on my slice of pizza. But what did I get? 3. That's right, only 3. I have never been more disgusted, appalled, and debunked in my life. Joey Tomato's? More like Joey tomat-no. read more

One of the best Grandma pies around. Restaurant is small inside, so ordering pick up or delivery is the best way to go. Great burgers also. Only negative thing is the $1.50 delivery charge read more

The family ordered 5 wings, a large plain pizza and Grand Mom's pizza. All delivered right to the lake we were swimming at. We just gave them a nearby house number as a reference. As a finicky pizza critic, comparing some of Trenton's famous pizza pies, these pizzas ranked very high and the quality of ingredients stood out. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

3 strikes...I'm done. The positive part of the review is short: the grandma pie is great! Just be ready for serious garlic breath. The bad: Twice my delivery orders were wrong. Missing items the first time and the wrong items the second time. A nice man, who I assume was the owner, had the delivery guy come back with the proper items. More bad: Pickup time is often 25 minutes or more. I ordered a chicken dish for pickup and it took 35 minutes, and when I got it home i noticed it was bright pink! In multiple spots! They gave me a refund but what a hassle and a let down. I don't think the owner was there, because if he was he might have been more apologetic than the teenager who handled the issue. read more

A family member told us we had to try the grandma pizza, and it actually lived up to our expectations! I love garlic, and it had fresh garlic in it with mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes... It was the balance of ingredients that I really liked, the garlic was there but it wasn't overwhelming, etc... They also had good salad greens, arugula, etc, looked like they used quality ingredients for stuff... We ate there and service was quick, might try ordering in next time... read more
