I have been wanting to try this place based on previous reviews and it did not disappoint. I got a large margherita pizza, ham calzone, and chicken parmesan sub. The pizza was good - large, New York style pieces. Not the best I have had in the area, but still good. The ham calzone was HUGE and stuffed with cheese and ham. I was shocked at both how large it was and how much filling was actually inside it. The chicken parmesan sub was incredible especially for the price. Unlike other reviewers, I had a good experience with the service. The boys working were kind and my order was ready when I arrived (within 20 minutes of ordering). If I could give 6 stars I would. Hands down the best pizza and sandwiches you can get in the area (maybe in the state). Hard to choose between the lunch time selection of slices or a sub so sometimes I get both. Thin style NY pizza whether by the slice or the pie is to die for. Subs hot or cold are always on point starting with in my opinion the best sandwich bread I have had then onto the generous amount of ingredients that is a perfect balance. Pasta is legit too. Not only is this some of the best food around but it is by far some of the most affordable as well. We tried tomato and basil this weekend for a relatives, catering order. OMG, the food was delicious! The pizza (vegetarian, pepperoni and cheese because of kids) was so good. The dough was not thick like other franchise locations, and I swear you could eat four slices and still feel good. What really caught my eye where the party subs. When the other reviewers say you won't be disappointed, they weren't kidding. We ordered a small cheese and pepperoni (7 slices), two cans of pop all for $14. It stands to reason that if the name of your store as Basil in it you should be able to taste it. It does, the Basil made the pizza even better. The pepperoni were the old fashion, you know the little pools of pepperoni grease. By far my favorite. I'm not a crust eater, complete waste of good quality pizza but I ate the crust. Okay first time eating here and not sure if I would go back. First upon coming after phoning in the order I greeted by "What do you need?" not in welcoming tone but that but I see this has classy listed on yelp it is not sorry. Also they accept credit cards but have a huge sign that says they charge a service fee 3.99%. I know that some businesses are now passing the cost to customers heads up would be nice. We got the cheese bread which was good but the sauce was normal and nothing special. We got super with pep, sausage, onion, garlic mushroom and green peppers. Love the cook on the pizza. read more

Tomato and Basil was a childhood place to eat with my mom and boy was it delicious. This was years ago when the location was in Chesterfield. Fast forward to now, I found it not far from me in Washington Twp. I made the 30 min drive out there last night and wasn't disappointed. Soooo my husbands sandwich was not correct but they made another but since my calzone was sitting here they rushed so his wasn't very hot BUT my husband loved the taste and the bread (he got the club) I wasn't too happy with my calzone. It wasn't cooked all the way inside and the sausage was like Italian sausage links cut up which isn't bad but just not what I was expecting. I should have told them no sauce. We were excited to see that this restaurant was conveniently located only a couple of miles from the golf course we visited yesterday and decided to give it a try. The previous ratings here are accurate and both my wife and I totally enjoyed our pizza and calzone. The crust was excellent and the sauce on my pizza was extra enjoyable with the flavor of the basil of course. All ingredients were fresh and the staff did a great job taking care of us when visiting. Tried this place out for the first time this week, we just moved in the area and was looking for a quick dinner. I was a little bummed that we couldn't get the alfredo pasta, I was told there's a 24 hour notice for the larger tray, so that's a little bit of an inconvenience, not sure who plans their take out orders for the week but I don't lol. Another minus for this place was that it looked a little dirty inside, like the "lobby" area as well as where the boys were preparing and cutting the pizzas. The boys were also not wearing gloves, they kept touching other things while touching toppings in between, not very sanitary. They still get 3.5 stars because of the food, I know I can't add 3.5 but This place isn't a 3 star or a 4 for me, they're in the middle. Maybe after another visit I'll be able to adjust my review a bit. The pizza tasted great, chewy dough, good amount of topping, the marinara was very good, didn't taste like the canned stuff other pizza places have. Also there is a 3.99% fee for using a credit card, which I though it was pretty stupid, you're not a dollar store, where they have a $10 minimum spent in order to use a credit card, I'm pretty sure most people nowadays use credit cards over cash, but I'll know for next time. What happened? We followed T and B from New Baltimore to Mt.Clemens to Romeo. I imagine the owners may have changed, but the last 3 cheese Bianca damn near broke my teeth. Unbelievably disrespectful group of young men. Especially what appeared to be the guy In charge. Waited for 30 min for a medium pizza at 2pm on a Wednesday. Place was absolutely dead. The oven was obviously cold when I got there and had barely cooked it was clearly a raw pizza. They proceeded to try to convince me that it was done and that I was rushing them when I didn't say one word the entire time I was sitting there. I said it was unacceptable and the guy in charge just laughed and said peace ..just bad don't waste your time or money. Place was an absolute pig sty to boot you would think with 5 guys standing around they might do some cleaning every once in awhile. As a family we order pizza a lot. Upon yelping pizza joints this place popped up. So glad we tried it! We ordered the deep dish round pizza. Per the name, it was a thick round pizza. Very good, just tastes fresh. Right amount of sauce and cheese. The crust is thick, my wife never eats pizza crust, ever..... she ate all her crust! As did I. We also ordered cheese bread, long huge pieces. Again very good. The next day we nuked the pizza and it was still awesome the next day! As others noted, no delivery which is a bummer. If you open a pizza place, as good as this place, go all out and do it right. Offer delivery, stay open late, really challenge the big guys because your pizza is way better and people will reward you by coming back. Oh, we thought it was cheap too! I had 2 large pizzas & an order of garlic bread. I've never had overcooked pizza dough that was almost impossible to bite through. How do you get the dough that tough? And the garlic bread looked like the cheap garlic bread you would get in the frozen section. This is not the type of garlic bread you would expect from a pizza joint. Anyway, sorry guys, but there needs to be an overhaul of your pizza and garlic bread. read more

Pizza is amazing, nice chewy crust. Slices are always great and the deals are very affordable. My family loves getting the pasta entrees as well the Alfredo and chicken parm are our favorites when they are available. The large antipasto salad has enough lunch meat and cheese to make a mini sub the next day with the bread they give you with it. They don't always have the right hours posted online. read more

BETTER THAN SUPINOS, yup I said it and I'll stand by it. Don't get me wrong I crave Supinos but T&B is better, quiet now, it just is. The T&B has just the right amount of basil sweet fresh tomato chunks a sprinkle of parm cheese and baked in 5 minutes, with a delicate crunchy crust. YUMMMMMM. Equally as good is the Bianca pie with Parm, Mozzarella, and Romano cheese. It's worth the drive to Romeo. read more

I come here once a week with the boys from work, sometimes more. I have never been disappointed with any food items on the menu or otherwise. The bread is the best I have ever had from a pizza/sub shop. Everything is homemade and the produce comes from the local Romeo farmers. Tomatoes are so red they look like candy and actually have flavor. When was the last time you actually tasted a tomato? The price is right, the portions are huge and most of the dudes in the place are friendly to deal with (hint). The owner will bend over backward to make you happy and he always succeeds. When we see people look in the window at us, as they walk into the filthy, disgusting, nasty, Subway restaurant next door, we scratch our heads.
