Classic Albertons regional branded supermarket. Clean lobby, aisles, bright lighting, open layout. What I liked was very few items were marked up, basically everything is 10% cheaper than California and their produce was still solid. I wasn't expecting their seafood selection to be this nice. I came during St. Patricks day so they had briskets down to $2.99 for choice, and they were massive, most were over 20lbs as packers. They had a good selection of BBQ sauces which is weird bc Texas is less about the sauce than KC and other BBQ regions. I liked the starbucks decord felt more like an airport than a stand. The Dallas Cowboys merchandise selection wasn't that much of a surprise. Staff were nice, but not quite the hospitality of Sprouts and the new Trader Joes nearby. I'm not sure Sprouts is gonna make it as it doesn't quite fit this demographic despite being a family friendly suburb of Dallas. I was surprised how nice their flowers selection was and that their bakery selection didn't have more cakes, mostly rolls. I do prefer the midwest stores of the north that have massic frozen pizza selections. A solid place for everything and I do like the selection and prices. This is a fantastic store. They have the typical kitchen staples, with a mix of higher end options that will give you plenty of opportunity to expand your palate. Pricing is quite reasonable, even with certain items being less expensive compared to Wal-Mart. What Wal-Mart lacks however is the diversity of items to choose from. One word of warning though. The Pharmacy there is absolutely the worst Pharmacy I've ever used. I've gone in to pick up orders where I was told they were ready, only to be told to wait 30 minutes. I show up 30 minutes later, I get told to wait an additional 15. After 15 minutes a confused pharmacist told me that half of my pickup was not available. I asked why were we called and me told to wait 45 minutes and the pharmacist looked like a deer caught in headlights. I was of course nice about it, but this is one of many stories where dealing with them is beyond less than pleasant. I wish the Pharmacy was as competently ran as the grocery store. But it isn't, and it's been months and nothing has changed which means the chaotic operations is seen as "acceptable". Come for the groceries, run from the pharmacy. read more

I like Tom Thumb. I prefer it to Kroger. But I have had a ton of issues with their app and coupons not working. I went in last night and they had digital coupons for apples and mangos and peaches that I clipped to the app...conveniently when I was checking out, I got "Oops, we're experiencing technical difficulties" and the coupons didn't work. Probably paid $10 more than I was expecting which is not a big deal but it's not the first time it happened and it feels like they are trying to pull a scam here. read more

I was excited to pay for my vehicle inspection and receive my Texas tag. Customer service was not very good. I was next in line, another person showed up and the rep waited on this person for several minutes without even looking at me. After awhile, the rep looked at my paperwork and said "you are in the wrong location" you should be in Dallas county. The rep tossed the paperwork at me and walked away. Needless to say, I was stunned and walked away got in my car and left. read more

I've done a review on this location in the past but it's become shockingly worse. If no stars was possible that's what this store would get. The staff is rude, completely unhelpful, and so untrained it's tragic. It's totally fine that the checkers are young, but they have no clue what they are doing. One girl didn't help me bag my groceries after I paid, she just started scanning the next persons items so that they started running into mine, and didn't even say thank you. It used to be a hit or miss with good service at this location but now it's almost guaranteed you will have a horrible experience. It's sad because the Kroger is just as bad. If you use the Tomthumb rewards card you should read this. I have a club card and use the Tomthumb app to select and add the coupons before shopping. I realized that just selecting and adding the Just4you or other coupons does not give you a discount. One has to again select and add those to the cart. There are no clear instructions making it obvious to customers. What is more frustrating is the custmer service staff and obviously Tom Thumb is aware of this issue and instead of fixing it, they are blaming it on the app, knowingly and intentionally exploiting the customers. Also, they have expired or very close to expiration items on shelves, so please check the dates before you purchase. read more

I would like to second the shout out to some of the nicest employees around~ I'm the type of shopper everyone in the food retail industry desires. Makes everything from Scratch, Will pay $17 for a tiny bottle of white truffle oil, purchases a dozen of fresh roses weekly, and freqeunts the store 7-10 times a week. I have to say I miss the fanciful $9.99 lbs king crab legs. My dinner parties are not as over the top these days. I agree the butcher guys are fly, When I am Lazy I ask them to cut the thin layer of skin off the back of pork ribs. It enhnaces the flavor and meat is not as tuff. boil in beer and apple cider vinegar, brown them in a pan w/ olive oil and season w/ salt & pepper then finish off on the grill w/ tangy BBQ sauce Now that I am done sharing all of my culinary tips, I want to end this review with my dear pal Ed. It's almost impossible to get through the front door. The cinnamon smell is overpowering and is so strong it will burn your sinuses. It's like having a stick of Big Red gum forcibly shoved up your nostrils. Once you're inside the store you can breathe again but at this time I'm just thankful they have the ability to Drive Up & Go because I can't enter that store without my entire face hurting from the assault of cinnamon. I don't know how any of the store associates doing carts can breathe in that entry way. Simply put, it's actively painfully spiced. Flu shot here? One hour and no customers in front of me. Really! If you've any other option I urge you to take it. I have never heard so much whining and excuses for sloth anywhere. Four employees evident and one patient. With no attention or direction I muddled through a very painful and unsatisfactory experience. Once I got to the shot station the lady came in and sat down and said "Oh my, I have to go get a syringe". I really dont care where the disfunction is. After spending so much time trying to entice me to use their services and to be treated that way shows a desperate need for management change. I always loved shopping at Randalls, then when the chain was purchased, Tom Thumb. Produce is great, meat is great, dairy is great, you name it. And there are always way too many things to tempt you. My review today is about the home delivery service. I made my first order today - Tom Thumb got it spot on perfect. On time. The delivery man even brought the order inside for me! To boot, Tom Thumb offered free delivery for the first order. The usual charge is WAY cheaper than what I encountered at Amazon, where you first get to pay a monthly subscription fee (on top of your usual Amazon membership fee) to get the grocery delivery service, which they don't bring in for you, no sir, nuh-uh. Then if you don't order enough of their okay-but-nothing-to-write-home-about groceries, you get to pay Amazon again. In Amazon's defense, maybe things are better now than they were when I tried out the service on its initial offering. I did end up with a bunch of sturdy Amazon lidded storage cubes. And loads of wonderful reusable freezer packs. (I kept leaving their grocery cubes-aka-bags out to be picked up next delivery, as Amazon kindly suggested, and only one time did they do it. Oh well, I tried, and the cubes are great for storing kids' outgrown clothes.) Keep up the good work, Tom Thumb! read more

I ran into the deli to grab a sandwich for lunch. I got to the car, began to unwrap my said sandwich and realized it looked a great shady. Also, I noticed there was another label over the original label. I peeled it back and the sandwich was 3 days old. They had actually placed a different date sticker on the dang sandwich!! Cheap ass deli manager. That's illegal! If anyone knows of someone from the city of Coppell health department, this might be a good plan to visit! read more

A-Okay. It's a Tom Thumb. The only thing is I went in there thinking... Oh Yeah, they have organic food. They have an organic produce section and the organic products are scattered, so you have to hunt for them. No Bueno! I hate that you have to have their Tom Thumb savings card to get any type of savings. I will go there for sushi, because their sushi is better than Sprout's. However, they did have a great deal on this Green Machine juice for $5 without a card. Some deals, but I'm not going to go back :/ Sprouts is across the street and is more organized. read more

This review is specifically about the pharmacy. I arrived around 8:30am on a Tuesday to pick up some meds and was told the pharmacy opens at 9am. Decided to grab a coffee from the onsite Starbucks and wait. After my 30min wait, I was the first person in the pharmacy line at 9am and two other people filed in behind me. At about 9:02am, a Tom Thumb employee told us that no one had arrived yet to open the pharmacy. He then proceeded to explain that this is a common occurrence and there was nothing they could do about it. Seemingly frustrated with the recurring issue, he pointed out to us that the "pharmacy people aren't even part of the store... they do their own thing..." At 9:05am, a few employees pointed out the pharmacist who had walked in the main entrance of the store. The pharmacist then looked directly at us in line, and turned away to chat with someone at the customer service desk which was located about 50ft away from us. At 9:10am, the pharmacist finally started walking in our direction. Without acknowledging his tardiness and with NO sense of urgency, he strolled between us and said good morning before disappearing through the pharmacy door. Five more minutes passed, and he finally opened the partition to help customers @ 9:15am. In the grand scheme of things, I'm sure there are folks who don't see what the big deal is about this. My primary frustration is that my customer experience was much less than promised. ALL businesses should open when they say they will. read more

This is my favorite store for groceries, and I will go out of my way to buy flowers there for the best selection and the nicest arrangements. They also have a giant wine department. BUT the last time I was there the manager treated an employee so badly my daughter called the company the next day. Her demeaning and arrogant way not only stressed out the employee, it stalled our line and added several minutes to our being checked out. It had the tinge of racism. I will never buy another brisket at Tom Thumb. I am so unhappy, indeed, that I have asked my wife to move our business from the Coppell Tom Thumb pharmacy, where we have been for some years. This brisket was cleverly camoflagued in the wrapping. I opened it, trimmed the excess fat off the top side, then -- all of a sudden -- the brisket which appeared to be a couple of inches in thickness "opened up" to become a piece of meat twice as large as it appeared in the wrapping and only about a half inch thick. It is deceptive packaging. They know it. We can shop, just as conveniently at Krogers, Sprouts, Market Street, Walmart, Costco, Central Market. Tom Thumb is gone from my thoughts after this comment. Gotta give shout-outs to some of the nicest grocery store employees around -- Every time I walk in, the produce guys say hello and offer to help me find what I'm looking for. The butcher guys are awesome. They are always happy to answer questions (which cut of pork should I buy to make into sausage?), special order items (I'd like tri-tips with the fat cap on, please), and cut meats to order (can I have the NY strips cut a little thicker for aging, please?). It's like going to a dedicated butcher shop. I will wait in a longer line just to go to Ed's check-out. He is pleasant AND efficient. He knows the store stock and sales so well that he'll tell me if I'm missing out on a deal. Raw chicken is always double-bagged and segregated from other items. Excellent selection of goods. Shelves are well stocked. Nice atmosphere. Employees are helpful and friendly, although they can sometimes be hard to locate when you need help. My only problem with Tom Thumb is that they are overpriced. If you don't mind that, it's a nice place to shop. read more

We ordered groceries online, and they were promised between 9 and 11. After a run around yesterday regarding a coupon that wasn't working and being forced to change my delivery time from missing the timeframe window due to an extensive "hold" period on the phone, it is now an hour after my promised delivery date and I still have no groceries and cannot seem to even get in touch with anyone in that department on the phone. Well, after being transferred, one guy did answer, said hello, and immediately hung up before I could say a word. I live less than a mile up the road from the grocery store. Update: The groceries arrived an hour and a half late, and the promised $20 and $3 discounts were not applied. I did tip the kind, apologetic delivery guy in spite of all of this. read more

We do like our local Tom Thumb. Not a fan of the "U savings" thing. It's annoying enough to have a reward card, then having to clip coupons from their weekly ad, and now if you want the advertised price you have to go online or on your phone app to click on coupons to be added to your reward card. Ugh! 3 different actions just to get a discount at this store. Big 'o pain in the butt! Other than that.... The store is clean, meat is great, and the veggies are crisp. This review is about the pharmacy & the Pharmacist Kevin, he was so helpful. After a long day running around and calling almost 30 different pharmacies searching for a flu shot they had one left! I was so thrilled because of course waiting till the last possible min to get a flu shot it was nearly impossible to find a place that still had them in stock. Kevin was kind enough to hold it for me while I rushed down there. But his courtesy didn't end there! The flu shot was needed for a school program that I start in the Fall & it came along with a bunch of different requirements which had me back in the pharmacy to see Kevin to see if he could help me out. Of course he kindly did! I just wanted to acknowledge how kind and help the Kevin and his pharmacy team was in my stressed out situation. So thank you so much again! read more

I moved to Coppell about 5 months ago and live by Tom Thumb. I have a few comments regarding this store, I bought frozen spinach (signature brand) and found a piece of wood in leaves- took it in to the store with photos and costumer service just said "Sorry- I've never seen that before". That was it! so I politely walked away. Second, I bought queso dip from the deli and found plastic in it- like the corner of the bag that was used to pour the "store made" cheese in. Third, I ordered a cake for my son on Tuesday and was told no one from the bakery was there to assist (a young lady from costumer service helped). She took a photo of the cake I was asking for on her phone and said, she would leave this for the cake decorator in the morning and said I would receive a call on Wednesday to finalize my order- I never received a call. I call today (Friday) to make sure I can pick up my cake tomorrow at 8am for my 5 year olds party. The woman at the bakery was incredibly rude- said it was my fault they did not have a photo of the cake, I should of left more information and I need to come in to fill out order form again. I will not be coming back to this store. I will be going to Kroger down the street. Very disappointed by the costumer service and poor attitude of the associates. read more
