Last night I had a craving for ramen. My family of 4 tried Tom Ramen out. I ordered Tonkitsu Shoyu Ramen, House Special Lomein, Gerneral Tsao Chicken, and Kung Pao Chicken. All dishes were tasty and well cooked. It hit the spot for us all. The portions were generous. We have plenty of left over for lunch today. I will definitely come back and tried other dishes. We had takeout so I cannot comment on their service. The ambiance is a small takeout restaurant. We paid $67.32 without tip. I can't wait to go back. Lunch time may be better deal. The miso ramen is very good. The pork dumplings average. Katsudon decent. They were receiving a lot of to-go and grubhub orders, so service was quite slow for dine-in. Dine-in area a little austere. Tom Ramen is a casual dine-in restaurant where you order and pay up front at the register. They will bring you the food when it's ready and clean up when you're done, but it's not full service. I stopped by for lunch on Sunday with a big group and fortunately, we were able to be seated. TOM RAMEN - 15.95 This was the tonkotsu ramen that contained chashu, beansprouts, half a ramen egg, corn, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, wavy ramen, topped with scallions and black garlic oil. The broth was pretty creamy and not too salty, but it lacked a strong pork flavor. It was mostly flavored by the black garlic oil. The chashu was really thin and quite charred on one side so it had a good flavor, but it wasn't very juicy or fatty. Everything else was fine. I'm not a huge wavy ramen fan, though. The ramen wasn't bad but it's not worth trekking to Alexandria for. Overall, I'm glad I got to try it since it's been on my list for a couple months. read more

Was in the area when I decided to look for a local ramen spot. Searched and I found Tom Ramen. Located in an inconspicuous strip mall you'll find a small ramen spot. With plenty of parking that should not be an issue. Inside the seating is not very big so small parties are best for this spot. Menu is large with plenty of options ranging from ramen boba and sushi, classics and house specialties. Service was good and was able to take our order quick. Solid ramen and very filling portions. We tried Tonkotsu miso ramen and Karaage ramen. Both came with rich, creamy broths and lots of toppings. Decided to try this restaurant and dine in. The restaurant is small, simple, and clean. We were the only customers dining in at the time we went. We noticed several customers coming in and out to pick up their take-out orders. The menu had a lot of great options, but we decided to try their ramen. We got the Tom Ramen and Tonkotsu Miso Ramen. We both got the volcano ramen and although it was (temperature) hot, it wasn't spicy at all. The 2 pieces of pork were extremely fatty but the broth was quite good. I love a soft boiled marinated egg so I was disappointed that I only got half of an egg and not the whole thing with my ramen. My friend told me about this new ramen shop just opened across from their place, and I had to try it! I was a little worried because it was in this dark strip mall. But looks are deceiving - thank goodness!! It exceeded all my expectations. It was small inside, but very bright with fast service. You order at the counter like a fast casual spot. I ordered a Volcano Spicy Tom Ramen. It caught me off guard because it was actually very spicy! The broth was delicious and umami, and it came with two pork cha siu slices that were tender and flavorful. It also had a cured egg and crunchy bamboo shoots. The noodles were beautiful and springy. Just want you want - the perfect texture. My partner ordered the regular tom ramen, which came in a similar broth but just without the spicy oil. If you order $30 worth of food (about 2 ramen bowls), you get a free California roll! Sweet deal! When you can't decide whether you want sushi or ramen - you can get both! Talking about sushi - they have a full sushi roll menu, as well. Our friend ordered a Dragon Roll. Hefty potions and nicely fried! Didn't try it, but our friend said they were very pleased. It is a small but cozy ramen shop that recently opened and I drove more than an hour away to try it out with a buddy and thought it was good! I didn't really want to go anywhere that was too "loud" at this time, and thought this place was good enough for somewhere a little quiet, but still had decent bowls of ramen. The service was pretty fast and I think the place is still developing anyways since it's relatively new, but I think it has a great variety of food already! Really glad to have found this cute little ramen place tucked away in a strip mall shopping center that I hadn't been to before. My kids and I wanted to get bubble tea and I did a quick search close to us and found Tom Ramen. The menu looked great and it looked fairly new, so off we went! By the time we got there, we were all hungry so a bubble tea pit stop became dinner. The kids are super picky and I was able to order them a meal that they both ate everything on their plate and asked for more! They like noodles with shrimp and chicken and eggs and minimal vegetables. I found the mei fun dish and asked for just those things, plus some carrots. The kitchen cooked it exactly that way and got it right!! It was a relief as they loved their dish and ate 2 servings each which is a rare feat, AND there were enough leftovers for the next day. We also ordered the mango bubble tea, chocolate bubble tea, the shrimp tempura ramen, and a free order of california rolls with a coupon from the menu as we ordered $30 or more, which was a really nice touch. The shrimp tempura ramen was really good, but not the best I've ever had. I'm spoiled as I have had amazing Japanese in Hawaii and nothing here has ever come close, but it was good here. I think the pork broth is something that I'm not used to, and I would just order without the pork next time. The chocolate bubble tea was also more watery and not as flavorful as we expected, and the staff was so kind to let us get another one to replace. The service was really friendly and kind (and patient to serve me and the kids who were pretty loud in the small space). I liked that this was a fast casual place with reasonable prices. We were in the area and decided to give Tom Ramen a try. The location is very convenient with a lot of retail parking. We ordered the Shrimp & Veg Tempura, Tom Ramen, and the Tom Special Roll, and every single dish was delicious. The Tom Special Roll and the Tom Ramen were super flavorful and also portion size was very good. Same for the tempura, very good value. The service was fantastic, everyone was super friendly. I've gone here a handful of times now and it's always been an awesome experience. I'm not usually a ramen fan but I loved the chicken broth based ones! I was cautiously optimistic about the sushi as I LOVE sushi and it is great! They just added some classic "Chinese" dishes.
