Wife and I had a fantastic date night. Decor is very nice and cool. Our waitress was awesome, gave us explanations of everything and as my wife said "made us feel like we were her only table" dispite a packed Friday night crowd. We ordered escargot, oysters (Huge ones!), Caesar salad, strip steak, king salmon special flown in from Hawaii and a desert cake that had banana bread in it. Also had the rum old fashion was very good. Everything was delicious including the baked potatoes that come. We also got the Brussels with pork belly and sooo good. We are already planning on coming back in two weeks with family in town to celebrate my parents anniversary. I am quite impressed by growth Madison has experienced in the last few years. I was quite exited to see what appeared to be a "high end" steak house among the new additions since I last lived here. As soon as we had a chance, we came and gave it a try. Fortunately, we left full after experiencing fast service from a very energetic staff. Unfortunately, it left my wallet quite empty and the quality was quite less than what I'd expect given the price - even for this area. I've traveled all over the country and have been blessed to savor all sorts of foods. When it comes to steak, the best one you can't get in a restaurant comes from my friend's ranch in Kansas. After that, I'm a big fan of a place in Annapolis, MD called Lewness's. In my last trip to Lewness's, my wife and I both had steaks. Their menu is a la cart so we ordered Theo sides to split and each got a salad. The steaks were perfectly prepared and the temperature was so exact you could use it to calibrate a thermometer. They were so tender they could be cut with a spoon. I'm not kidding. I asked for a spoon just so I could see if it would. It did. Except the Strip I got once. I had to use my fork. Anyway, before drinks, desert, and tip, that meal was about $120. Our experience at TB was very different. TB is new and has a fun atmosphere. I'm a big fan of crushed velvet (wife said "no" to decorating the house in it but I'm still trying!). I'm also a fan of Guns n Roses so hearing and seeing all that made me optimistic. The quick service was also quite refreshing. Sadly, it stops here. The rolls were unremarkable. Just yeast rolls, sort of tough, with a honey butter. Tasted ok but...we already saw the prices but I refused to let disappointment set in early. Our meals came out quickly! However, our steaks were poorly prepared. Very, very salty. I'd hoped for something like Jeff Ruby's (Cincinnati steakhouse) or at least like Conner's down the road but tue seasoning was about like Outback. The temp of my steak was a medium well and my wife's was medium rare. I asked for medium rare and she asked for medium. Her tips were smothered in a salty sauce of some sort but that actually seemed to hide that this was probably an amazing cut. I can't really tell though because of the sauce. The loaded potatoes were hard. Like they were "almost" done but not exactly. The Brussels sprouts were ok. Oily and salty but not the charred sprouts that seem to be everywhere these days. I keep hitting on the oily and salty part of the meal. It's Alabama. I get it. But that's no reason to coat everything in fats and salts. After all that, the bill came out. $105 before my $15 glass of wine (also "meh" but I picked it so...). So, biggest reason for two stars...price. I paid $15 less for this meal than I would have for an excellent meal of similar variety in a major metropolitan area. There's work to do before I go back to this place. read more

THE EGGROLLS! The Eggrolls were my absolute favorite part of the meal. They have pork and greens in them, and are topped with a white bbq sauce. They are just perfect. The restaurant was clean. The decor was really swanky. Bright colored resin are on the walls and in the bathrooms. Traditionally glam dining chairs and each table had a mini terrarium on it. Very cute. Lots of chandeliers everywhere. I love that part. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. The staff was so kind and so knowledgeable. Our dinner was even served to us by Tom Brown, himself. That made the experience special. I ordered the pork chop with a side of Brussels sprouts. My food was delicious. The pork chop was tender, juicy, and seasoned very well. The Brussels were cooked perfectly with a good amount of pork/bacon in them. My date ordered the Hawaiian Wahoo with a side of seasonal veggies. He wanted to try one of the fresh fish recommendations, as they explained to us that the fish is flown in. He seemed to enjoy it. It was his first time tasting the fish. The pricing is moderate for the appetizers and drinks, but the entrees are a bit more on the expensive side. You do, get plenty of food for your money. Including complimentary bread for the table. We spent about $150 for an appetizer, 3 drinks, and two entrees. I'd definitely be going back, even for the Eggrolls alone and would recommend everyone to try this place out. read more

This is officially one of the best restaurants in the area! We had the rib-eye and the Mahi both were cooked perfectly. The staff was amazing, our waitress was Brooklyn and she was super helpful with helping us decide. Now the dessert, it was so perfect I actually shed two tears. Great place, only thing is the parking is limited near the restaurant and cheap dirty paper menu. I had to focused on listening to the waitress explaining a long special menu items, desserts etc., it was too long. I am not there to learn about the menu. Interior is not as elegant as it first appears, but you can tell they are trying hard to look the part of the menu prices. The food is actually really good however, so I can't complain too much about the restaurant. but your wallet will pay for it. I liked the 80s music they played over the bar. That was nice. This is a favorite of me and the wife. We love the atmosphere, food and service. Reservations can be a must as they get quite busy. My wife doesn't like overly fancy (aka pretentious) food and this place hits the mark. Our server Liz went above and beyond to make our meal extra special; she explained the new specials, we were never even close to being out of beverages, she was quick and efficient while also being genuine and warm. I guess the ole saying is true, don't go to a place known for their steak, and order fish. In this case Red Snapper. My table Ordered two servings of the snapper (blackened & grilled), and it was evident both fillets had issues. I personally think the fillets were NOT snappers. Secondly, I never had a fillet I could NOT cut with a fork, let alone a knife. Mine was so tough it was either frozen for a long period of time or serverly aged...either /or I found myself self ill later. I will not describe their "blackened ", it was laughable, to say the least It wasn't like this was a time to impress, this was the first time I had an opportunity to take my "soon to be daughter in law" to dinner. Tom Browns should have been a "home run". However, my soon to be daughter in law said her meal was fantastic.... That was all that mattered. The server was incredible, one that every business would want representing them. The orzo and sweet potatoes were very good, but that mystery fish (2 servings) you could not get past. I am torn whether I would ever go back or recommend. The fillets were that bad. With their price point and this being one of their chef specials, I won't get that time / experience back with me soon to be daughter in law. This lack of quality caught me off guard...this should have been a no brainer. If I do return, it would be how professional and gracious the server was. The staff was wonderful and the establishment was very nicely decorated but the food was all around sub-par. This was very disappointing considering how expensive it is. The complimentary roll with honey butter was delicious but, sadly, that was the tastiest thing we had. Our crab claw appetizer was overcooked and didn't taste fresh. The fish and the brussel sprouts were both under seasoned and bland. I felt that they cut corners and therefore sacrificed the quality of the food. For example, they used the pre-minced jarred garlic for the lemon garlic butter that came with the fish. Anyone who cooks knows how different that tastes from fresh garlic. OMG!!! So incredibly happy we finally got to try this place. Walked in and loved what we saw, the decor is absolutely beautiful, not your typical Alabama steak house. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome and lots of information. We had every intention of having dinner, but the appetizers sounded so amazing, we ended up having 4 different starters and a couple of cocktails. Demetrius and Theo were outstanding servers and Gavine, one of the managers made sure everything was perfect for us. Headline: Prices are in the stratosphere. The food is out of this world. I went to dinner at Tom Brown's restaurant last night. I had lobster bisque, the ribeye steak with seasonal vegetables, and a $13 glass of wine; no dessert. With tip, that cost me nearly $100. The ribeye was extraordinarily delicious, so were the vegetables, and that was the best lobster bisque I've had since I dined at L'Aiglon restaurant in New York City in the 1970s. It was easily the best tasting meal I've had in recent memory. The biggest negative was that the place was too noisy, with music, audio from the giant TVs on the wall, and crowd noise all combined. The waiter was pointedly friendly, if a bit overbearing, and arrived at the table more than once when we were eating, conversing, and didn't need him, asking "how is everything" or suggesting something else we could order, like a commercial that interrupts a movie every few minutes. Bottom line: If I had a good-paying job instead of being essentially retired and living on Social Security, I'd dine there often. It's the best (and also the most expensive) Huntsville/Madison restaurant I've been to, and that includes my other favorite steak house, Connors. read more

I was in town for a week and I had several people recommend this steak house. I went with a group of 10. My experience was not the best. Our waitress struggled with all of our orders and at the end of the meal she told her manager that the reason everything was messed up was because we had someone show up late and it threw all the orders out of wack. We all got a steak and everyone one us said that it lacked any flavor and most of them were not cooked as ordered. I had a wedge salad that was tasty and the bread that they'd served was also a good addition. However at the end of the day I was really wanting a well prepared steak and they fell to deliver. The manager tried to make it right by deducting the price of the steaks from a few of the tickets and he also gave us some gift cards. I'm not if this was just a bad night or the norm. I might give another try the next time I'm in town if I do I will be sure to leave another review not matter if it is good or bad. read more

The Char Grilled Oysters were pretty good as well, but I wouldn't exactly call it a "must try" menu item. Today was my first and most recent dining experience with them this EASTER Sunday, 2021 and I would have to DISAGREE. The atmosphere is terrific and it is a very nice and upscale establishment. Wait staff is, of course, very young and unseasoned, but all-in-all, a nice restaurant. I will begin with a snapshot of the bill. Green to me were exceptional, fuchsia = not so much, and red = I lost my appetite. When a patron reads the description of the sea bass and it is described to you by the waiter/waitress, it sounds heavenly... soft buttery texture with wonderful seasoning, etc., melt in you mouth, but in my case it was all perfect until I came to picking BONES from my mouth, tactfully. Folks, that is what did it for me! Expectations when dining in such a fine establishment are high and when I am nearly complete with enjoying a wonderful meal and taking the last few bites, I would never have the impression/expectation that I'd need to be watching out for fear of being impaled, internally, by eating fish bones in a Chilean Sea Bass filet! What is most disappointing for me is when I brought this up to the wait staff, I was presented with two responses: 1. Yes sir, we have that listed in our disclaimer and 2. Yes, we have had that problem with bones in our Sea Bass filet. Wow, so it is a known issue! I believe the listing on the menu should read: NOT A FILET; BONE IN, then. Also if you pay $58.00 for the meal, prepare yourself for a surprise! In closing, I'd like to say, I know where I'd like to spend my money and get what I pay for.
