This was the first time I've been here since my mom passed - I could feel her energy when I was in here. Such a wide variety of gifts, collectibles, art, greeting cards, and yummy snacks. I brought a friend who had never been here before and she adored this shop. There's also a coffee shop on the outside which serves a variety of delicious coffee drinks, and cookies. We each had an iced coffee beverage and sat in their brightly colored, rocking chairs to enjoy.

As I walked up to the cashier area, no one else was around. The young man and girl working were pleasant at first. The had my vase I was buying from the art gallery already wrapped up. The young man started helping me, then a lady came in with her dog raising her voice high asking where the line was. Very rude. By then there were two other people in line behind me. She again asked where the line was once again very loud. The young man stopped helping me and took this very rude lady in the side, though he was already helping me and two there were in line before her. Seemed strange. The girl started ringing me up only I had two separate transactions because I purchased the vase, & wanted it separate. She wrung my other things without giving me a receipt, so I asked for one. She seemed bothered. I spent $112 while there! Your employees need to know to tell people where the lines are, stay with the ones they're already helping and give a recipe unless otherwise told.

Leona's is an adorable upscale gift shop that carries jewelry, limited housewares like napkins and…read moremugs, as well as a back section of clothing and hats. There's a lot to see, so I definitely took my time walking through trying to decide if I wanted to splurge on some of the garden items such as wrought iron handles and bird perches. All in all, I would definitely recommend stopping in if you're gift shopping in Point Reyes, if not just to admire the gorgeous water feature and jewelry.

Because I work with mixed media, I haven't found anyone else who can accurately capture my work- it has so many different areas of shiny/reflective graphite, magazine papers, and gold leaf, combined with deeply flat charcoal etc. It involves a high level of expertise and she always finds a way to use lights and technology to give me an excellent image. She's even been able to add in design elements after the fact. She's also quite flexible and routinely makes herself available to work with my crazy schedule and multiple changes. And, she's quick! I collaborated with Paul at Artistic Picture Framing (meaning Paul did all the work) on a special…read moreproject framing my horse's award buckles from the 2018 Appaloosa Reining Horse Association World Show. We went with a sort of ruggedized shadow box style using glare-proof museum acrylic (that won't shatter like glass), and the end-result is beautiful and totally exceeded my expectations! Paul (who's such a nice guy and a pleasure to work with) listened carefully and then applied his creativity and skill to capture exactly the look I wanted...sort of rustic with an authentic Western feel. He chose the perfect colors and textures for the backing and frame to make the silver buckles really stand out. The craftsmanship is just exceptional, with each buckle perfectly aligned and very securely mounted (he put a lot of work into this), showing real precision, balance and a real sense of skill and pride. The overall result feels solid/sturdy and looks artful and clean. He even installed heavy-duty hardware so that I can mount it to my horse's stall. It was fun discussing the project with Paul. He wanted to understand the meaning and significance of of the pieces being framed up and the theme and look I wanted and he absolutely nailed it. The turnaround was quick, the quality amazing and the display looks like something out of a Western art gallery even though it'll hang right where it belongs, on the wall of my horse's stall!
