    Beef teriyaki bento
    Hank K.

Okay, while there were definitely lots of rooms for improvement for certain dishes (e.g., the beef teriyaki, which lacked a lot of the tangy and sweet flavours), the price, the amount of food you'd get, and the diversity of different side dishes of the bento boxes were quite amazing--far exceeding its price. Also, I did really enjoy the oyster fry!! The oysters were quite fresh and tasty. Overall, TG is a really nice izakaya-style restaurant with super reasonable prices. It's a great place to grab a bite and a drink with a friend after work on weekdays. There's a reason it's been standing in the prime area of North York for quite a while now.

July 6, 2025 - Went to Tokyo Grill for the Lunch Summerliscious $20 set menu. I started with the spicy fish cake appetizer. Then had the beef teriyaki bento and finished off with a slice of mango Cheesecake. The food was amazing. The portions were generous and there are a variety of options to choose from. I've come here time and time again for the Summerliscious set menu and I have nothing bad to say about them. Solid price for a great amount of great food and always down to come back next year!

Went for winterlicious 2025 menu. Great ambiance with the wooden feel interior and darker lighting and table lamps. Used the iPad to order food it had a lot pictures which was super helpful. Takoyaki was great, fried dishes cakes yum. Marinated squid I did not have can't comment (not my thing). Osyster bento, salmon bento, makeral bento, cutlet bento all very delicious. Came with rice, pickles, chicken karage w sprinkle of salad, couple cut up piece of orange slice. Food was great ended up having too much food had to take the dessert cheesecakes to go! Green tea cheesecake and sweet potatoe pie was great! Use the iPad to order food/water/ drinks and request payment. Took a minute to get a hang of ordering from iPad. Service was quick and the servers were kind Would recommend great value and good food.

Visited this place many times and will come more. You'll be greeted with warm and inviting atmosphere, with traditional Japanese decòr and soft lighting that made for a relaxing setting. I always get the bento here as it comes with rice, chicken karaage, main dish of meat and some pickled veggies. I got the ginger pork this time to try. I usually get the katsu or udon dish and opt for a different one. A little bland to me needs more seasoning a hint of ginger yes, but i need more of it. The karaage, i love it perfect crunch and seasoned well. My friend ordered the Aji lunch bento ( deep fried horse mackerel ) and had it before its so good. I like that this place offer too different snacks that you can buy. The staff are always pleasant and smiling. You should try this place if you're in the area.

What a wonderful little Izakaya bar. I wish I'd discovered this place sooner. Stumbled upon Tokyo Grill while looking for late night eats. It's got a warm and cozy vibe that brings a piece of Japan to North York. Service was good. What's great about it is that it's open late night. Good for after work drinks. They had ramen, udon, sukiyaki, karaage, menchi katsu, octopus sashimi, beer, soju and nonalcoholic drinks on the menu. The nabeyaki udon and sukiyaki (sweetness) were good. Along with their Izakaya menu items, they've got yummy Japanese snacks, imported candies, chips, Pocky and Kit Kat new arrivals from Japan.

Summerlicious 2024 - Lunch Menu We were seated by a booth and each table had a tablet to place your order. I had chilled tofu, tempura bento and black sesame cheesecake. For a $20 menu the value is pretty fair, the cheesecake and service wasn't stellar as it took a couple of tries to flag down the waitress for water and something tasted off with the black sesame cake. However the chilled tofu and bento made up for the overall experience. I wouldn't mind coming back to try out a different cake option.

We went to Tokyo Grills for a quick lunch. The restaurant for was crowded, but we quickly got a seat. Typical Asian restaurant with a lot of options. I ordered the Chicken Katsui dish, The food came quickly and was good.

Visited this venue that serves izakaya style food and alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks late Friday night. They have a nice assortment of foods available to order and the service provided was quick and friendly. They have two TVs playing the NBA game during our visit and a very grooving music playlist playing throughout the restaurant. Price/value is decent and I would return.

Decoration is nice, can be a casual dining place as the price is reasonable With less than $15 , the bento box has main like fish or deep fried pork , side is crunchy chicken and rice I love the bento box especially with 3 deep fried chicken. The server is very nice and response very fast

Was looking for a casual no fuss lunch and this place fit the bill. Located on Yonge St, 1 block north of Empress Walk this is a Izakaya style restaurant. Tables are a mixture of booths and tables Lots of options on the menu from ramen to udon to donburi's. Good selection of alcohol and side dishes to go with alcohol! Each table has a tablet where you place your order. The only issue with this is if you have more than a couple of people this could take a while if people want to see all the options. We ordered 3 bento boxes (ginger pork, spicy pork and beef hamburg) and a oyako donburi. All the bento boxes came with 3 pieces of chicken Karagge, pasta salad and some sides. I would say the portion is a decent size for the price you pay. Quality was okay, nothing spectacular. The ginger pork was more pork stir fry than ginger pork. This is a great place if you want a quick bite in a casual environment and are not expecting bells and whistles or want to get together with friends over drinks and snacks. We would consider another visit.

Tokyo Grill is one of my favourite go-to spots in North York. Upon entering, the mellow vibes from the lighting and the wooden seating create an intimate atmosphere, perfect for a date or hanging out with friends. The service is good, with servers being quick and efficient. For food, we had the beef teriyaki bento and the salmon bento. Both were very affordable and filling for their price--it's hard to find a great deal for a bento box these days. Other items on the menu are also reasonably priced, which is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. Highly recommended spot in North York!

Came for winterlicious lunch for $20.00. We ordered salmon in a bento box. Food is good. Cute nice place. I loved the mango cheese cake. So delicious.. pay parking in the streets and at the back. Good service.

If you're looking for a cozy atmosphere, this is the spot to go to. It's relatively small compared to some other places in the area, however it's a great casual hangout food spot. They have a decent variety of options such as bento boxes, appetizers, ramen and drinks. I tried out their pork katsu bento box along with some takoyaki. I found the bento box is a good item to get if you're unsure on what to get. I really liked the karaage chicken the most within the bento box. It was a nice crispy texture and decent portions of chicken especially with the sauce it was super addicting. Unfortunately, the pork katsu was a bit too dry for my liking even with sauce. It wasn't really as juicy as I was expecting however, it still tasted okay. An honourable mention needs to be made for the takoyaki. It was the perfect appetizer to have with the main dish. It took a bit longer than usual but definitely worth the wait as it's fresh and hot. The toppings inside had a reasonable amount of octopus filling and had a nice soft texture. The sauces were rich and smokey. Overall, I highly recommend this place for small groups. If you plan on going with more than 4 people, definitely recommend calling in advance for a reservation as most of their seats suit for less than 4 people.

Portions are small, so it's best to start with a round of tasting and then pick your favorites. Beef is definitely the star for grilling! I tried everything except beef tongue--everything else was flavorful, nicely cut, balanced fat and lean, and sliced thinly enough to cook in no time. Thicker steaks don't take long either. Pork belly is on the fattier side; it's okay when dipped in sauce and eaten with lettuce. Lamb tends to fall apart and is harder to grill, but the taste is still good. Seafood isn't the best for grilling overall--shrimp and squid are fairly mild, and grilling them dry doesn't make them particularly exciting. Salmon and clams are fine, nothing extraordinary. Among vegetables, zucchini and mushrooms are solid choices, and grilled pineapple is wonderfully sweet--especially delicious.

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.
