the interior of a fast food restaurant
Mike V.

My first time at this location. I found out it is a fast food Asian joint that's nothing like the Tokyo Grill in Smyrna which I do like...especially their sushi. This place is very small, dark, and kinda "dirty looking" but the food was tasty. I was kinda surprised. I had the shrimp hibachi. I actually loved their fried rice and the sticky char on the hibachi shrimp was perfect, and the lemony yum yum sauce for the shrimp was a nice surprise too. If you come here don't expect elegance, but the food and service were great. It may be a little dumpy because it's close to MTSU and that's probably where they get most of their business from. I remember the days of scrounging up quarters, dimes and nickels for a subway sandwich or ramen when I was in college

ago Have eaten there so many times because of convenience and location. Food seems to be up and down the last year or so. Was disappointed in big order tonight when we added on extra steak ($4.00 for 4oz) and just asked they make sure to be in side container and not just piled on top of the entrees. Placed order online and has $38.30 order total so took 40 in and was just going to let them keep the change, rings me up and tells me its $40.53. I asked what changed and was told the containers are $.50 a piece. If that's accurate then the order of two entrees and two extra sides of steak was four containers total, so even my entrees we got charged for? You'd think that would be built into the price, or are we supposed to bring our own Tupperware like a reusable grocery bag. Nope, got charged $2 for the extra steak for containers that are $.05 a piece and never disclosed it until I questioned it. Just seemed a bit nickel and diming, but I guess they prefer doing this or not actually adding the extra meat to the entree so you can ensure it gets added? I guess since it's the first time I've ever paid cash and always paid online I never noticed from literally dozens and dozens of orders the last 3 years. Lessoned learned. Hate it because it use to be great value, quality and quantity. Wish them future success as again they used to be great. Steak was quality and now is blade or bottom round cuts that are tough, not Top sirloin. College students or someone really on a budget they're still a good option, everyone else go ahead and hit the Koji.

The the food was decent, pretty good actually but they forgot part of my order and the chop stick had mold on them. It seems like some moisture got into the packaging. It was gross

Still just as good as in college! The portion sizes are still huge for the price and it's good fast food hibachi!

Go to cheap eats. 8.99 for a nearly 2 pound plate of Chicken Hibachi. The white sauce is great. Very quick service. Decent inside.

I ordered the fried dumplings and it came in a styrofoam container that melted onto the food. Styrofoam is bad enough as it is.

You would think that fresh ingredients would equal a good salad. I was wrong. Maybe I got a bad batch, but it did not taste good. Maybe because the salad had a seasoning on top. My go-to drink is the Dirty Hippie--it never disappoints. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It is on the pricier side, but the portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. Parking can be tricky but we always get lucky and find something around the square.

The ambiance…read moreis great but the tables and chairs could use some repair as every table we tried wobbled a lot. I did not take pictures of the inside as it is a very busy weekend here. First complaint is there is no guidance for people who are from out of town on how to order or where to go. I have been watching the out of town parents confused as well trying to figure this place out! The iPads set up to order are not sales leading or helpful. When we picked up our coffees is when we FOUND the full menus to read (AFTER we ordered). Not only did they lose sales but we did not see any meat options to add to our order! The lattes tried were a make your own and are better than Starbucks. I had the regular with sweetener (had to ask for a little more sweetener as you can not choose more than one of the same item) and prefer a light to no foam but it is not an option. The second option was the golden girl with honey and cinnamon. Good but different. The first food was the Susie Basic ($11 +$0.50 for strawberries) the crepe that is too thick for a traditional crepe, did not come filled with the strawberries or anything else it was just folded into quarters and topped with the equivalent of 4/5 whole strawberries and whipped cream on the side. The second food item was the French toasted waffle pancake ($15) this is a great concept but it was under cooked and doughy but more than enough food for a meal. It would have been better with a breakfast meat included! Over all the rating is a 3 because of service, the confusion, and the immediately asking for a tip when you order not knowing you really get no service before or after you get food! Even water is a self serve dispenser! It's a great place, different concept in food service. It wants fast food as far service but set up to be table service. After our food arrived we were directed to the silverware and napkins. No one checks on food quality or needs after you are served your food!

Unfortunately, my most recent visit completely changed my opinion. The service we received was unacceptable. Our server, a white man with numerous tattoos, was rude and disrespectful to everyone at our table throughout the evening. More concerning, I experienced comments and behavior that I perceived as racist and homophobic, and another employee appeared to encourage or support that conduct instead of addressing it. My guests and I felt humiliated and extremely uncomfortable. As someone who has been a loyal customer for a long time and has spent a significant amount of money supporting this business, I was shocked that this was our experience. I invited friends and family expecting a great evening, and instead we left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. If this type of behavior reflects what the restaurant is willing to tolerate, that is deeply disappointing. I hope management takes this complaint seriously, investigates what occurred, and ensures that no customer is made to feel this way in the future. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment, particularly to people who may be concerned about being treated unfairly because of their race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. I also intend to share my experience on social media so others are aware of what happened during our visit.

We arrived at Med Gyro & Shawarma at 11:15. We were the only customers. We ordered a Gyro Bowl, a Chicken Kebab Bowl, a Gyro Wrap, a Chicken Shawarma Wrap, a side of hummus and a side of baba ganoush to go. Both of us tried the bowls there. The man behind the counter was standoffish. Gyro Bowl had a small salad with sour pickled red cabbage, lettuce shreds, a few red onions, and diced tomatoes. There was a bed of turmeric basmati rice and on top was thinly sliced crisped gyro neat. The gyro meat was sliced too thin for me. I don't mind crust on the meat but when put on the flattop sliced thin the meat is tough like jerky. The tzatziki did not have the garlic and dill seasoning I am familiar with. I tasted mint. 3/5 The Chicken Bowl was identical to the Gyro Bowl except with pieces of chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and delicious. It was served with tzatziki. 5/5 Chicken Shawarma Wrap was filled with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and a few slices of red onion with a small amount of chicken shawarma meat. The man was arguing with someone on the phone and burned the wrap he was warming up. I don't really know if he was arguing as I could not understand the language. His tone and emphasis with words made me think he was arguing. I tasted burnt wrap and didn't enjoy the shawarma. 2/5 The Gyro Wrap was filled with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a few slices of red onion. The Gyro meat wasn't as crispy and the taste came through. 4/5 The hummus was meh. Very bland with chickpea chunks. 2/5 The baba ganoush was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed it. 5/5 The food was ok. I wouldn't drive 2 hours back to eat the foods again. My taste buds look for authentic Gyros and Shawarma and these flavors are not what I am accustomed to.
