My Airbnb Host, Julian, recommended I try Toki for some great Italian food on my last day in Sydney. It was just down the street and Italian sounded divine. A short stroll away I stumbled upon, Toki an "Italian inspired" gem. Its a cozy place with a quiet ambience and a menu that allows you to choose from a variety of pastas (spaghetti, linguini, gnocchi, etc.) then pair them with different varieties of sauces and add ins. You can even add specific things to your dish like extra fresh tomatoes or more meatballs, etc as you build your perfect Italian dish. Prego!!!
But then, I stumbled onto a section of Schnitzel options. Definitely not Italian inspired but Oh so delicious! I ordered the Chicken schnitzel Napolitana and under that home made marinara sauce and cheese lay THE most delicious schnitzel I've ever had. Fried perfectly, moist and flavorful it really gave my flavor palate a lot to work with between the seasoned coating the chicken breast and all those fresh herbs and goodness in the sauce. The garlic rolls id ordered as starters turned out to be 2 thick slices of sourdough with some garlic butter thing going on. Wasn't bad but having ordered that immediately without looking at the rest of the menu i was hoping for garlic knots. Lol so that's on me. Lol
All in all its a great spot that serves up really fresh food with a ton of options at a reasonable price. Come check em out. read more
