Unfortunately, my experience was beyond disappointing with Anishia. If I had to describe her using…read moreone word, that word would be: UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I was looking on Yelp for a hairstylist who specializes in Black hair, specifically, natural hair. I saw Anishia's name and all that she specialized in and decided to give her a call at the phone number given, which was: 877/803-8848, on Thursday afternoon, April 23, 2026. I told her that I like to wash and blow dry my own hair and that I only wanted to have my split/dead ends cut so that my hair can be healthy and grow out evenly. She said she can do that for me and the price she quoted me was in my price range. She gave me her address and when I asked about parking, she told me that there were parking spaces available for the customers at the Phenix Salon, located at: 5702 Sepulveda Blvd. Ste. 101 Sherman Oaks, CA 91411. We agreed on appointment date of Sunday, April 26, 2026. Initially, I wanted an afternoon appointment, but she said she had someone coming at 12 noon. So, she scheduled me for an 11 am appointment. I was very relieved that I had finally found a hairstylist who worked with natural Black hair, whose rate was perfect for what I was willing to pay, and who worked at a location of which I am familiar. Well, when I got there, I was not sure exactly where the parking spaces were, so I called and left a message for Anishia at: (877) 803-8848, to tell me where the parking area for the Phenix Salon is. She did not call me back, but that was okay, because I saw the parking spaces in the underground parking structure. I then got out of my car and walked over to the front doors at the salon, only to find out that the doors were locked and that no one was there, except a lady I saw behind the glass, in a booth shampooing another lady's hair. I then called Anishia, at what appears to be her cell phone that was on the internet, 310/429-2143, letting her know that I was outside waiting and reminding her that we had an 11am appointment, and for her to give me a call and let me know if she is running late or is not going to show up at all. I waited a few more minutes and quickly realized that she was not going to show up! I absolutely did not appreciate having my time wasted like that, period! It's truly sad that she has shown herself to be completely unprofessional by not taking any accountability for wasting my time by being a no-show. She had her opportunities to call me back and apologize for being late and either asking me about scheduling an appointment for later that day or rescheduling altogether for a different day and time. Unfortunately, she made no effort to make things right, which is okay by me because, in the end, this experience was for the greater good of me and my hair. Obviously, if Anishia did not care about me and my time as a customer, then how can I honestly expect her, and even trust her, to give that same level of care, respect, and professionalism to my hair? Me and my hair are good without her!
