Not trustworthy, not recommend & Horrible experience from 12/2022 to 4/2023, Owners visit condo @ early morning & evening & discovered workers left food trash & lights on when not working, damages include: ceiling fixtures, painted over lighting fixtures & outlets, & plumbing issues not caused by tenant (debri flushed down sink & toilets , had separate contractor assess damages), kitchen & inside storage door, painting problems, & lockbox & code was changed & owner had to be made aware. Prior unnecessary cost included: 3+ weeks of fans running, etc. Cleaners did not clean thoroughly & blinds were dirty from construction work & property owner had to re-clean areas. Suggestion: Avoid using Toepfer for repairs. The company did not accept responsibility & the actions are common in reviews. If Toepfer is assigned, please Do not allow contractors work @ your home without the homeowner present. read more

The condo building me and my wife own a unit in recently had work performed by Toepfer. It was relatively simple work that consisted of repairing some kitchen cabinets, repairing drywall damage, and repainting part of our unit. The quality of Toepfer's work in the building was terrible. They painted walls incorrect colors, damaged floors and appliances, communicated timelines poorly, and whiffed on small details (such as returning cabinets with the correct number of shelves). I would never use Toepfer again for another project as it has been a constant time suck getting them to resolve the constant issues that have occurred. read more

Complete thieves! DO NOT use this company. My husband and I used Toepfer to come out and look at some wet beams we had before closing up the drywall in our living room ceiling that still seemed wet after a leak we had. We simply wanted to make sure they were actually dry before replacing the drywall so we wouldn't have mold issues. In our communication with Toepfer, we were clear that this was not an emergency whatsoever prior to scheduling their technician's visit and specifically stated in email that if it affected pricing, it was not time sensitive. They sent us a water abatement contract with no pricing info on it and we agreed to pay the cost of whatever ACTUAL work they may have to do upon their visit, naively assuming that the cost would be minimal since it was just taking a look and using a moisture meter (which we also owned)...no real water leaking or big emergency to take care of. There was absolutely ZERO communication to us about any flat rate or fee for a service call. The technician came out to our home, stuck a moisture meter into our ceiling beam, said it was dry enough to replace the drywall, and left. The entire appointment took FIVE MINUTES and we received a bill for $450. Absolutely outrageous! We reached out several times for clarification of the charge and received delayed, disinterested communication and were simply told that this was their flat rate and we would be sent to collections if we didn't pay. Ultimately we ended up paying just to make them go away, but I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone! I'm a business owner myself, and their business ethics are absolutely abhorrent! Very disappointing experience. They told us rebuilding our garage would take 8 weeks to build (granted, permitting, bad weather, etc. will add time) and it was literally one year before they finished. They wouldn't communicate with us, despite our many attempts, so we never knew when we'd they'd come back to do the work. They installed certain things incorrectly (e.g., downspouts upside down; a ridge vent without cutting an opening along the ridge). We told them not to bother cleaning up the mess they made b/c we weren't sure how long that would take. Despite multiple attempts to get the final bill, it took them months, which meant our money was tied up waiting to get the final numbers. They charged us an amount for extra work that was required by the city, but they never checked with us first to approve the (unexpectedly high) cost or ever break it down for us. The neighbors were ready to throw a party once we finally had our garage built. I will say that the end product we are happy with, but their customer service was so troubling I would never experience this again. read more

We had Toepfer Construction add a front porch to our 1970s style rancher and we couldn't be happier with the work they did. The quality of the construction is top notch! My husband is a very picky mechanical engineer and every day checked on how things were going and was always very happy. Their team was incredibly professional and extremely polite to all of our family members coming and going. Since completion of the front porch we have had several neighbors stop to tell us how beautiful it looks. We will call on Toepfer Construction again! read more

Our neighbor's house caught fire last summer and quickly spread to ours. The insurance company sent Toepfer over to seal up the house to keep weather, critters, etc out. Carl came over and within a few hours boarded up windows and had a patch put on our flat roof. (You can't tarp a flat roof). Our house wasn't completely destroyed, so Toepfer's quick action helped save a lot of our belongings and prevented our house from being further damaged. read more

There was a leak in my garage that led to wood rot, and needing LOTS of work. Toepfer did great work! They replaced the entire side of the roof, shored up all the eaves and support beams, and re-drywalled all the damage on the garage ceiling. They were on time, professional, and did quality work. They cleaned up after themselves and came back twice to check the work and make sure we were happy with it. If you have a project, Hire them! You will not be disappointed! read more

I have been working with Toepfer Construction Company on a personal and professional basis since 1993. They have performed work at my home in Alexandria... added a door to my basement via the side of my home. The project stayed on schedule and when unexpected issues came up, there was solid communication and they assisted me with the decisions that needed to be made. Their team worked long and hard until the job was completed. I have received a number of compliments on the new entrance as it is in a prominent place on the side of my single family home and at the entrance to my HOA. The other area that I have interacted with Toepfer is through their 24/7 emergency remediation. They have assisted me with responding immediately and timely during a leak or fire in one of our various communities. The have consistently performed to the expectations of our homeowners and worked with the homowner during remediation as well as the reconstruction of the home. It does not matter whether it is a rental unit or homeowner, they are consistent in the service they provide. Toepfer if a top notch company. read more
