Omg! This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had! Upon entering the store I was greeted with a pissed off face and grumpy attitude. The owner couldn't have been more rude. Asking where sizes were in "her" store seemed to be an inconvenience. At the sale, she demanded my email and phone number. Not for a computer so it would generate emails with updates and sales but on a pen and a pad. I almost felt like a criminal. No A/C in the store so add that to the terrible service and it was just about the worst shopping experience of my young life. I will never give her another cent of my money. 0 star read more

I was looking for a particular pair of dance sneakers by Bloch, and ordered a pair from Toe Tap & Tights. When it turned out that the blue color I REALLY wanted were no longer being manufactured, Chris asked her Bloch rep to try to locate a pair for me from somewhere in the country. She was endlessly helpful and supportive in trying to find what I wanted. When it appeared that no blue could be found in my size, I ordered the pink, in a size which turned out to be too big. In trying to identify my correct size, she helped me locate a local store, that ended up having one pair of the the blue that I wanted in my size! Her customer service is unparalleled and her humor and patience made her an absolute pleasure to deal with! I will absolutely do business with her in the future, even though I live across the country in Seattle. read more

I have been shopping here for over 20 years. I shopped here for my children and now for my grandchildren and have always had a great experience and exceptional customer service despite the chaos the beginning of the school year for dance classes creates for a specialty shop such as this one. It is well known that people are more likely to focus on a negative experience than a positive one. I like to let retailers and restaurants know when I have had a good one. I was shocked at some of the reviews here. Social media has the means to ruin a business - a fine business with a good reputation all because someone is ticked off with being informed of store policies they don't agree with or understand the reasoning behind such policies. Having owned a retail business myself for over 16 years I can say from experience that most customers are lovely and courteous but there is a small minority of people who are unreasonable, irrational and have often made up complaints because they simply cannot accept that these store policies apply to them as well. There isn't a single person who owns a business who isn't nodding their head in agreement right now. For instance, a retail establishment that does not serve food or beverage is not required to have a public bathroom. There are very good reasons for this policy and as inconvenient as it may be for the customer there are liability issues for retail owners for allowing customers access to space that is not open to the public and may be dangerous. Who are you to expect staff to break policy and jeopardize the store's livelihood to accommodate your demands? There were children the day I was there touching the merchandise and running through clothing racks and parents were doing nothing to stop them. I am always impressed with the restraint that staff has dealing with the outrageous behavior of insensitive and rude customers. Someone actually wrote a review and accused staff members of talking about them in the backroom; a little paranoid perhaps? How do you know they were talking about you unless you know you were being difficult? Perhaps you are overhearing a conversation that has nothing to do with you. Rather than confront to get an explanation, you choose to slander. Shame on you. Having the right to complain about poor service is important. Perhaps the old fashion way is best. I'm sure any business owner would like to address any legitimate complaint from a customer regarding their customer service. But the difference between rude staff and rude customers is that a customer has the freedom to just walk away. read more

Went in with my toddler who will be starting dance for the first time. She was a bit fussy and it was a lengthy try on since her feet are tiny and wide. Tap and ballet shoes run very different and I had previously purchased ballet shoes there with a great experience. This second time however was not a great experience at all!! I went to have her fitted for ballet shoes the women at the front desk (I'm assuming was the owner) was extremely rude. I actually overheard her in the back tell the woman who was helping me " I feel bad for you" since she had to help me find the correct size for my daughters small foot. FYI your store has open ceilings and you can hear your conversations in the back room.... I will not be returning and hope they take note to treat their customers with a bit more respect and not be so rude! Also think they are extremely over priced and found brand new tap shoes for almost half the price they wanted to charge me. Oh and they told me they wouldn't size my daughter for her shoe size without charging a $10 fee which I feel is absurd! Love supporting local stores but unfortunately after this experience I'd rather shop on amazon. read more

extremely poor customer service. The owner would not exchange a pair of warm up boots for a different size. My daughter simply tried them on, they were never worn and I had the receipt. I will not do business here again. I will also inform my daughters dance studio of the issues with this store. read more

DO NOT, DO NOT SHOP HERE! The owner is "too busy" and not able to help. The staff is less than helpful, snobby and also young girls that are inexperienced. Terrible place all together. Don't waste your time, trust me. This woman thinks she is the only place in town but that is not the case at all. I drove 35 minutes to this place for nothing. Try the new place in Windham, nh on 28 instead, Dress 2 Dance- MUCH BETTER than this place, the service is outstanding and thay are willing to help find what you need. I am sorry to say that I have spent hundreds at this place, never again. My daughter is in dance and gymnastics and I buy her 3 prs dance shoes, leotards, bags, etc. NEVER NEVER NEVER again here...... read more

Felt like a second class citizen, I guess she doesn't need the business as she treated us horribly. We ended up at Improv Dancewear in downtown Haverhill. Very welcoming in there and prices are great. Highly recommend Improv Dancewear. read more
