Where to start. On a recent trip to assist my Sister with matters associated with the passing of our Mother, my Sister expressed a desire to upgrade her personal firearm. Since we knew Todd's Guns maintains a minimal inventory, and functions primarily on the ordering of guns and accessories, we went to a local but highly successful store that not only carries a significant inventory but also rents guns for use on their indoor range which allows the customer to make a better purchase decision. The management and associates of the store were "unbelievable" with their courteous treatment and assistance with my Sister. They actually catered to the fact she is a woman and directed all of their decision input to her (rather than deferring to me), which we both appreciated. The pistol my Sister liked most was not available for rent, so the store manager let her use his personal pistol (same model) on the range. The store even provided the 9mm ammunition to her free of charge. Yes folks, a business love story in the making. After making the purchase decision, I advised Sister to consider certain accessories to augment the pistol. Short story, the store put together a $500 value package of accessories (that were in stock) and negotiated a purchase value of $260, to be later installed at "no charge". Why do I say "later installed"? The store is just across the state line in Ohio, which meant Sister would need to have the pistol shipped to an FFL dealer in Michigan for delivery. Because Todd's Guns is in close proximity, and Sister believes in supporting local businesses, she elected to have the pistol shipped to Todd's, and paid a fee to do so. THAT'S WHERE IT ALL GOES WRONG ... The pistol was shipped to Todd's and "arrived" on the 22nd of the month (now verified via tracking number). Sister had called Todd's on the 22nd but was told it had not arrived. Sister called Todd's several days later, but again was told the pistol had not arrived. After "two weeks", Sister called the selling store who provided Sister with a tracking number of the shipment (which was shipped from the seller the day following the sale, as agreed). Yesterday, Sister went to Todd's to pick up her pistol (who charged her another $30), Todd blamed every aspect of the lack of Todd's Guns service on Sister, resulting in my little Irish Sister unleashing a barrage of personal insults normally associated with a truck stop or marine base. SO ... WHY AM I TAKING THIS TIME, AND ASKING YOU TO TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS POSTING? Just understand that Todd's Guns in Lambertville, Michigan is a "minimalist retail outlet". Number two: Todd is a self-enamored, self-righteous, self-effacing individual who is devoid of the concept of customer service and obviously intent on being condescending to women (the burgeoning retail market for gun sales in the US). I would recommend that "anyone" considering the purchase of a gun or accessories near Lambertville simply go online where You will find two large retail outlets that can courteously and expeditiously provide for Your shopping needs. read more
