Soon, word spread that our quality custom bait was second-to-none. That allowed us to expand our business and begin offering up a variety of products for the men and women who love the outdoors across the country -- that's right, we ship nationwide. We offer soft baits, jigs, lures, ice-fishing accessories, on top of compound bows, crossbows, and much more, but our specialty is custom crank baits. No matter what you're trying to catch or what season it is, our team is here to help you find the gear and tackle that will never let you down.

As someone who's completely new to fishing, walking into Lakeside Fishing was a little…read moreintimidating, but the team immediately made me feel welcome. They took the time to help me get set up with everything I needed for fishing on Lake St. Clair, answered all of my questions, and made sure I left with the right gear for the lake. What really impressed me happened after I left. I had mentioned we were heading across the street for lunch, and after we left I realized an expensive spool of fishing line that I'd already paid for had been left behind. Instead of waiting for me to figure it out, they called the restaurants across the street until they found us so I could come back and pick it up. That level of customer service is incredibly rare. They truly went above and beyond, and they've absolutely earned a customer for life!

Cabela's is a wonderland our outdoorsy fun/games/sportsmanship…read more Are you hunter? Gatherer? Fisher? Archer? Kayaker? Backpaker? Anything Elserer? Chances are they're going to have what you're looking for, and more than likely in stock. There are other outdoor lifestyle chains out there, but none that measure up to the outdoor/wilderness environment that Cabela's has. From its rustic, natural(ish) décor to the outdoor displays to wildlife exhibits, you really do get that "I feel like I'm out in the woods" vibe. While I've always been a fan of Cabela's, this summer we found that they carry my absolute favorite line of bird seed. I'm a birder and feed 6 to 8 different types of feed in my back year nearly year round, and the fact that they have my favorite brand (Harvest brand bird feeds), but A) in multiple varieties and 2) IN STOCK immediately made this my go-to place when I need bird seed. We used to have to visit 3 or more retail outlets to find what I needed, but not any more. This has got to be one of the largest Cabela's in existence. Seriously. I've been to a number of them but this one just seems ENORMOUS. It's also got an absolutely beautiful 'front door' that can be seen from the expressway nearby. As I wandered around trying to find my bird seed (it literally took me over 10 minutes) I passed a number of staff members helping others and stocking shelves. OH...and an aquarium. There's a freakin' AQUARIUM in this Cabela's. As if the animals and all the outdoor displays aren't enough, they add an aquarium.

I have fished w/ SO every Spring for the past 10 years. I was part of the original group sponsored…read moreby TCO in PA in 2016. This has always been a great fly rod smallmouth bass guide service in previous years. I have taken my son on 2 occasions and 4 other friends over a decade. This April I contacted my guide 10 days before a planned trip w/ concerns about fishing conditions given "100-year rains", a heavy winter snow-pack and flooding in Michigan w/ numerous tailwater dams being threatened. I was assured that the guide "was on the water and conditions were fine". This was a bold-faced lie. I traveled 350+ miles from 3 states away to find the Grand and Huron Rivers 5 feet above the high water mark in flood stage flowing like rapids with water clarity similar to chocolate milk. I specifically suggested that I was happy to reschedule later in the season when conditions were more favorable. I fully understand that guides have a limited season but lying about conditions to maintain income is just wrong. When all is said and done SO essentially stole $1,600 from me given booking fees, guide fees and tip, gas, food and lodging. Don't trust them in the future to have integrity in representing the conditions. They will say anything to preserve income. They have lost a client for life.
