They claim in the ad to have modern equipment and multiple fish finders. There was not a working fish finder on the boat. I was told it has not worked in a long time. The trolling motor was not the type that could hold position, so the boat was always drifting make it difficult to jig. The boat was/is extremely dated and in much need of repairs. They claim to have a bathroom on board and when asked to use it Captain Dan seemed to have an attitude about it and pointed out a can labeled P-can that would be much easier to use. After some debate and being a little crabby he did open it up as it was falling apart he said there you go, good luck. This was probably the highlight of the trip as it was really funny to watch someone try to use this "bathroom" while it was falling apart on them. It was also so full of clutter, you could not escape from the sun if you wanted too. AGAIN I WILL REPEAT THERE IS NOT A WORKING FINDER ON BOARD THIS BOAT. Although the captain was rather grumpy, the first mate Dave was a real nice guy. We did catch 8 fish with 7 of us fishing including the captain who caught 2. So I am not saying you won't catch fish. I just believe that for $85 a person you should be able to find a much nicer boat with a friendlier Captain and some equipment that works. 25' tri-toon sounds nice, but it is not. Sorry to have to leave this review, but I don't like false advertising. One last thing, if you bring 6 someone will have to sit on the cooler. There are not enough seats for 6. The captain needs one seat in front to continuously control the trolling motor

Chances are they're going to have what you're looking for, and more than likely in stock. There are other outdoor lifestyle chains out there, but none that measure up to the outdoor/wilderness environment that Cabela's has. From its rustic, natural(ish) décor to the outdoor displays to wildlife exhibits, you really do get that "I feel like I'm out in the woods" vibe. While I've always been a fan of Cabela's, this summer we found that they carry my absolute favorite line of bird seed. I'm a birder and feed 6 to 8 different types of feed in my back year nearly year round, and the fact that they have my favorite brand (Harvest brand bird feeds), but A) in multiple varieties and 2) IN STOCK immediately made this my go-to place when I need bird seed. We used to have to visit 3 or more retail outlets to find what I needed, but not any more. This has got to be one of the largest Cabela's in existence. Seriously. I've been to a number of them but this one just seems ENORMOUS. It's also got an absolutely beautiful 'front door' that can be seen from the expressway nearby. As I wandered around trying to find my bird seed (it literally took me over 10 minutes) I passed a number of staff members helping others and stocking shelves. OH...and an aquarium. There's a freakin' AQUARIUM in this Cabela's. As if the animals and all the outdoor displays aren't enough, they add an aquarium.

It's now just another BASS PRO Shop...big deal. The wildlife cafeteria is gone, the art gallery is gone, the aquarium is pitiful @ best, and the list goes on. This has always been a great fly rod smallmouth bass guide service in previous years. I have taken my son on 2 occasions and 4 other friends over a decade. This April I contacted my guide 10 days before a planned trip w/ concerns about fishing conditions given "100-year rains", a heavy winter snow-pack and flooding in Michigan w/ numerous tailwater dams being threatened. I was assured that the guide "was on the water and conditions were fine". This was a bold-faced lie. I traveled 350+ miles from 3 states away to find the Grand and Huron Rivers 5 feet above the high water mark in flood stage flowing like rapids with water clarity similar to chocolate milk. I specifically suggested that I was happy to reschedule later in the season when conditions were more favorable. I fully understand that guides have a limited season but lying about conditions to maintain income is just wrong. When all is said and done SO essentially stole $1,600 from me given booking fees, guide fees and tip, gas, food and lodging. Don't trust them in the future to have integrity in representing the conditions. They will say anything to preserve income. They have lost a client for life.

I ended up driving to the store but they didn't have the item that I wanted. Still, the store didn't have a bare wall or empty space as it was packed with merch. They also have "outlet"/ clearance/ final sale items in the back of the store. One employee was rude to me - I tried on a jacket but wasn't sure about the fit. She asked me with an attitude - how do you expect it to fit?

I was just amazed by the variety, volume, and selections of items available. There is just so much to choose from and items from every category of needs for backpacking or hiking can be found here. Right after I visited Backpackers Shop I went to another similar popular shop and was not impressed with it. I just wanted to go back to the Backpackers Shop because I knew they'd have multiple things to choose from for the needs. Not only do they have anything i think I might need for backpacking or hiking but their staff are a wealth of knowledge and experience. I talked with a guy who hiked the AT trail and another worker who had just hiked the trail I am planning to backpack through. They were a gold mine of knowledge and wise advice. It's right near the campus too so easy for people to get to if they are on campus or are coming onto campus by bus. I have 2 Nalgene bottles from here and I still have them after 3-4 years in good condition. This place has sales and a very popular place on MSU's campus even without sales. The staff doesn't burden you and let's you shop but can answer questions you have. My friends have bought sweatshirts and tshirts from here and they still have them in good quality. The sweatshirts are on the more expensive side but come in so many colors that they are preeeeety. :) If you're into North Face, they have a ton of NF apparel.
