About 2 hours ago, on the way back from Toledo, I pulled into the "Happy" Hooker parking lot to…read moretake a look at my GPS. Ya know, I figured it's a better idea that fidgeting with it as I drive. I pulled in, went to the corner of the parking lot closest to the road, and put my car in park. There wasn't ONE single car in that lot, and I wasn't taking up a customer parking space. There was a "man" outside doing what looked like some work to the building. After about 3 minutes, he came up to the passenger side of my car and said "ya need somethin'?" Not "can I help you?" I said "No, I just needed to take a look at my phone," and smiled. He said "well move along, this isn't a rest stop!!" I said "are you freaking kidding me man?!?" He then raised his voice, pointed to the road and said "get the fuck outta here!" REALLY?!? I was at the CORNER of the lot for 2-3 minutes while I got my GPS redirected to where I needed to be next. HORRIBLE impression of this place, and I was only in the parking lot. At almost 5pm without a single car in the lot...This guy was a complete ass. "This isn't a rest stop," as if I had been parked there for an hour and was napping. Word of mouth means a lot for small-town businesses, and I won't recommend ANYONE come here for their needs based on how I was treated in my own car from the parking lot. I'll spread the word to the public to take your business and needs elsewhere. I'm disgusted.

This is a great place for fishing supplies and they look like they have a lot of hunting stuff too…read more(I'm not a hunter). They are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. People do not give up fishing secrets and spots easily - in fact I've been misled and screwed over by advice over the years and sometimes you will find a pack of boats with no one catching much of anything because of flat out wrong information. Fishing captains can be flat out jerks - cutting you off, getting too close to your boat, practically swamping smaller boats. It's sad. That being said - the folks at Happy Hooker have ALWAYS given me fantastic advice. Great fishing spots and even helped me move away from drifting with nightcrawlers and harnesses to trolling with a sea anchor and what equipment to use. I made my own planer boards but these guys got me the right lures and advice to make it happen. We did well the last few years and got a couple of 25" walleyes this year thanks to Happy Hooker. Thank you so much for your help!! Keep it up! And yes, this is not a rest stop - there is one literally a couple of miles away on RT2 to play with your phone. ALSO - their website is www.happyhookeroutdoors.com , not the one listed in the YELP header.

This is a review on ordering a firearm from their warehouse and having it shipped to your local…read morestore. I placed the order on Sunday evening and received an email Wednesday saying it had arrived. I went there, filled out the proper paperwork and 45 minutes later I left with my Firearm. I will say though, I have a valid CPL in my state and that made things move faster. The first firearm I purchased from them was a nightmare. It was a 2 day ordeal and I went there 3 times before I received my item, but that was my first purchase of a firearm and I had no CPL. Staff can be hit or miss, but its like that everywhere nowadays. Everyone wants high pay, but don't want to do their job, so it is what it is.

I had to call the cops on Dunham's Sports! On Saturday…read moreMorning December 1, 2018 around 10:30 a.m. my husband and I went to Dunham's Sports on N. Telegraph in Monroe MI. My husband wanted to buy a rifle and I had some Christmas shopping I needed to finish. Some of the items I was purchasing were for my son who is currently station in Ramstein, Germany in the U.S. Air Force, so I had to buy his gifts and get them in the mail soon in order to have them to him by Christmas. When the clerk finished ringing up the items I used my debit card to pay, knowing I had $700 for Christmas in the bank so the $652.94 total would not be an issue. The card reader stated that my chip was bad. So I called over my husband who was looking at other items in line and he tried his card, denied. I thought maybe I had made a mistake about what was in my account, so while my husband tries his card again I brought up my bank account on line on my cell. The Dunham's purchase was already taken out of my account for the amount of $652.94! My husband's card was denied because they had already taken out the money and I had $50 left. I told the cashier and showed her my phones' screen with the bank account information on it, where it said Dunham's, the amount of the purchase and date, but she said all she had was declined slips and no receipt came out. By this time another clerk (the one that had been holding onto the rifle for us as we were not allowed to carrier it around the store, understandably) stepped up and said that their chip readers had been giving them issues. She said it had happened before that someone tried to buy something and were "denied" only to come back later and say the purchase had been taken out of their bank account. They then called their IT department; they reiterated to me that their IT said that the transaction did not go through to them, that it will bounce back to my bank. I did not want to leave with $650 out of my bank account and no merchandise, but I said I could understand how that might happen and I would be back Monday if not resolved. They put our items back in the cart with a note on it to hold for us (I didn't want to have to shop all over again). We returned to Dunham's in Monroe Monday December 3, 2018 around 16:30 as our account was not rectified. Went up to a cashier and asked for a manager she called over an assistant manager (a younger lady with long light brown hair), we told her our story (which she stated she had no knowledge of), she was kind and seemed sympathetic. She stated she would have to go talk to the other assistant manager, whose name started with an "M", she was much older and blonde. She came up to us right away with a nasty attitude. She stated that they had called their corporate office and they were not going to refund us the money as their company didn't have it. I said that it has been taken out of my bank account, so now I have no money and none of my merchandise! I said that is stealing. If I were to walk out of this store with $650 worth of stuff right now and not give you the money for it I would go to jail! I am sure that you would not wait days for me to pay you either! I then asked her for her name and she said she would not give me her name and walked away! I said you'll give your name to the police! My husband called the bank again; they stated that the money has gone to Dunham's. The only thing we could do is file dispute with them (the bank) and it would take 10 to 14 days to get out money back! We then called the police; as I could not believe that they could basically steal our money and do this! The policeman came out (Monroe County Sherriff) he was very nice, understanding and empathetic as well. However after hearing our story he said that it was a civil issue and not a criminal issue, so there wasn't whole lot he could do. I asked him why is it that they can take my money AND the things I (tried to)bought for 10-14 days (if not longer, we'll see), but if I walked out with $650 worth of stuff and didn't pay them I'd go to jail that minute, I am sure they wouldn't wait for me to pay them. I said when does it become criminal for them to steal from me like that? He said that criminal involves intent and that if it was not resolved in a couple of weeks then it might be considered criminal, we have to give the time to fix their computer issues and go through the process. I can understand this, however what I cannot seem to understand is how a retail store chain cares so little for its customers that they do not fix a computer issue that they have know about (according to their own people for some time) and subjects its customers to this kind of thing. Also did not appreciate how rudely we were treated by their assistant manager (#2). This had been so frustrating, time consuming and stressful, obviously I will never step foot in these stores again. Hoping to get my money back soon so that I can buy gifts for my son overseas, bu
