Dr. Lo is one of those people. A natural educator in a dental scrubs, Dr. Lo took the time to explain common misconceptions about dental hygiene with kindness and zeal. Like I said, I've never felt more excited about flossing and brushing. I took advantage of a new patient promotion for the office and am so glad that I did. The staff are welcoming and take the time to answer questions. I was not upsold on any service. From what I could tell, this dental office is more interested in giving patients what they actually need and does not try to sell products or procedures that are not necessary. It sounds like they offer a membership for self-pay patients as well that would offest the cost for those who are underinsured as well. Happy with the discovery of this dentist. Well worth the drive from Denton.

I still get reminder calls and emails from this clinic for cleanings, which I truly appreciate. The doctor was very understanding and offered me a refund, which I accepted. I'm updating my review from 1 star to 5 stars to reflect how everything was handled with professionalism and care.

I wanted to update my review from the 14th but couldn't, so I'm leaving this new one…read more I originally called on Friday to reschedule because my wife isn't well, but since the office was closed, I had to wait until today. When I called at 8:05 a.m. to move my wife's appointment, I was told we'd be charged a $129 cancellation fee for being within 24 hours. She's currently bedridden and unable to do much of anything--making a dental visit completely unrealistic. After more than 30 years with Dr. Beougher, I was stunned by such a steep penalty. Other practices may charge a modest $25, but $129 feels excessive. I told the staff on the phone to cancel every future appointment--we will not be returning. Driving nearly 30 miles one way was already a commitment, but this policy makes it impossible to justify. Especially now that I'm retired and on a fixed income, I simply can't afford to support an office that treats long-time patients this way.

I simply just would like a teeth cleaning as my insurance provides me. I try to manage those expectations when booking my appointment as I know when you go into this practice they press you hard to sell you on anything they can. Today they tried again with charging me above and beyond the cleaning I had asked for. When I stated I didn't want that they refused service so I walked out. Do yourself a favor and when searching for a dentist in Plano, don't let the fancy office fool you. It's fancy for a reason and that being their ability to upsell this service. Stay away!

I came to Willow Bend Dentistry as a new patient after moving to the area, looking to establish…read morecare. The location was convenient and the online reviews seemed promising. I take good care of my teeth, brushing twice daily, flossing occasionally, and having had braces and permanent retainers growing up, I was shocked when I was told I had over 10 cavities during my first visit. That immediately raised a red flag for me. Still, not wanting to start over somewhere new, I agreed to have the three worst cavities filled (despite originally requesting to treat only the one I was most concerned about), along with a routine cleaning. Even with good dental insurance, I paid about $300 out of pocket. Shortly after the visit, I began experiencing pain and sensitivity on the right side of my mouth.... so much so that I couldn't chew on that side. I returned, and the dentist said my bite was too high and shaved the filling down, telling me the pain should resolve within a week. It didn't. I returned a second time and saw a different dentist, who shaved it down again. Weeks went by, the pain continued to worsen, and since I was only chewing on my left side, my jaw became inflamed and my TMJ flared up. Still trying to get answers and some relief, I returned for a third follow-up, this time with the original dentist again. I explained that the previous adjustments hadn't helped, but he insisted the bite was still too high and filed it again. This time, the pain was intense to the point where I was in tears in the chair. I was told numbing wasn't an option because it would interfere with assessing my bite, which made the experience nearly unbearable. I was eventually given nitrous just to get through the procedure which didn't do much but allow me a moment to catch my breath. By the end of that appointment, I was told that if things didn't improve, I'd need to be referred to a root canal specialist. Which is a joke considering I came in originally with perfectly healthy teeth and my cavities aren't nearly deep enough to need one. At this point, I've decided to have my X-rays sent to my previous dentist out of state and will be making the trip home to have this corrected. What began as a simple cleaning turned into months of discomfort, multiple missed hours of work, and new dental issues I didn't have before. I truly wish I had trusted my instincts and sought a second opinion sooner. I went in for a cleaning, left with a dozen alleged cavities, and now may need a root canal??? No.

The cleaning and services were rushed and nothing as I have had in the past at other places. They seemed pretty angry that I opted to not have an expensive procedure done. I have good insurance and it being the first time the bill was over $150. I paid it and went on my merry way. 6 months later they hounded me to come in for a cleaning. That ended up with them telling me that they needed to take an xray with the cleaning. With the doctor spending no more than maybe 5 minutes with me both visits and out another $120. Now to today, I walk in to the front desk, the first I spoke to was a bit rude and tells me that I have to pay my co-pay up-front of $210 for a cleaning? and xrays that the insurance covers. Telling me the insurance only covers 50%. No they only cover 50% of your inflated prices. This place is a money mill, they dont really care about their patients only how much money they can get out of them.
