It was a difficult to get an appointment that worked with my availability, a sign that he's in high demand, or maybe I just have a rough work schedule lol. I had a less than ideal time scheduled, but the front desk staff had me to the call back list if anything came up that would work better for me. After getting 2 calls a better time did become available and my appointment was switched. Let me start by saying Dr. Goldstein is a wonderful physician. He was patient and thorough. He listened to my concerns and provided great recommendations. However, my first visit wasn't without some frustration! The wait time was literally killing me. I got to the office at 8:30am, as a new patient I was asked to arrive early for the new patient paperwork. The forms took me about seven minutes to complete, there was a total of six pages. The paperwork could really use an update. The font is tiny and hard to read, even for someone with good vision, and the print quality isn't great. Being that the office already uses an online patient portal, it would more helpful to make the new patient forms digital. After completing my forms, the waiting begun. I saw many patients arriving after me, some new and were called into exam rooms before me. By 9:30 I was finally brought into an exam room where an assistant took some information and set things up for the doctor. Then, more waiting. Dr. Goldstein didn't come in until 10:30. Dr. Goldstein was excellent once he arrived. The scheduling and time management definitely needs improvement. It's hard for working people to take time off and extend wait times like this only adds unnecessary stress.. It would be nice to feel that our time is respected just as much as the doctors. On a positive note, the office itself is very clean. Well kept in the front desk staff is friendly. I will continue to see Dr. Goldstein despite the not so great reviews that have been left. I hope that time management is improved by the time my next appointment comes around.

I didn't give a 5 because I found it inconvenient that patients aren't allowed to have the person who accompanies them to the appointment to wait in the waiting room. That was my first experience ever in any medical facility/office with such an insensitive and inconsiderate policy.

My experience at South Florida Endoscopy on Sheridan Street ( 11011 Sheridan St, Suite 106, Cooper…read moreCity, Florida 33026) was absolutely terrible from start to finish. The employees' attitudes are horrible -- not pleasant, not welcoming, and definitely not patient-focused. It felt like we were an inconvenience to them. I came in today with my mom for her colonoscopy, and the rules they enforce are some of the worst I've ever experienced. After checking in, I was told no one is allowed to stay with the patient, not even to help them change or stay with them until the procedure starts. That alone was extremely upsetting. Then it got worse -- they don't even let family wait in the waiting room. Only the patient is allowed to be inside. I was told I had to wait outside in the car or leave the building entirely and that they would call me 30 minutes before pickup. For a medical procedure where the patient is sedated, this policy is unacceptable, inconsiderate, and stressful. The facility is also under construction, which raises major concerns about cleanliness and safety. They claim they send text messages, but nothing in the messages explains these rules clearly. With all the construction going on, how can anyone be sure the procedure area is even up to code? It made me even more nervous about my mom's well-being and any potential future issues. Overall, this is a very bad practice with terrible communication, terrible rules, and terrible staff attitudes. I will never bring any of my loved ones here again -- not myself, not my family, not my friends. Horrible experience from beginning to end. Never again will I bring my family or friends here.

These were forms to be completed by hand (not digital, old school) and then had to be entered manually by the receptionist. I was a new patient and it would have been nice to have completed these forms online, prior to my visit. My appointment was set for 10:00. I did not get in the back for my triage until 10:30 and did not see the Doctor until after 11:00. They do not use a digital scales or blood pressure machines. Medical devices could use some updating. They required me to have an EKG, even though I expressed that I did not want one. They told me they would not bill my insurance and that it was for internal use only and was required by the Doctor. The examining room had rules on the wall and advertising for allergy testing, with two notices to turn your phone off as well as a referral policy. No artwork. The lobby was also decorated with policies on all the walls. Although, they did have lots of brochures for services and magazines on the waiting area. Now for my visit with Dr. Alvarez... the Doctor had a wonderful bedside manner. He was warm and friendly. Dr. Alvarez gave me a thorough exam and gave me some good medical advice. He spent a fair amount of time with me, I did not feel rushed. I would highly recommend Dr. Alvarez to anyone seeking a solid primary care physician.
