I really hate leaving negative reviews, but after my third visit here with the same disappointing experience, I felt it was necessary. There's an employee.. someone with short hair who works Sundays who is consistently rude and unapproachable. I honestly can't tell if it's a man or a woman but short men haircut wearing glasses ( I don't want to get the wrong person in trouble) but either way, they never smile, avoid eye contact with anyone walking in, and make the whole environment feel tense and awkward. It feels like they genuinely dislike being there, and it shows in their attitude. I came in at 5:45 PM on a Sunday, and just like the previous times, the energy was off. It's uncomfortable enough that I've decided not to come back. When a pattern like this repeats, it's no longer a bad day, it's just who the person is. If you're going to be in a customer-facing role, at least try to make people feel welcome. If that's too much, maybe it's time to consider a different job. I'm not even asking for them to be nice l, at least just acknowledge someone walked in to the store?? I do like their ice cream though and that was the only reason why I considered going back until today. This review is for the taco stand outside this business since I can't seem To find their help. visited this taco stand recently and had a concerning experience. They advertised accepting all payment types, but when I looked at the amount before paying, I noticed they were about to charge me $27 for just five tacos. This seemed incorrect, and when I brought it to their attention, the staff's response was not helpful. They tried saying an 8% charge justifies the amount but the receipt said $20? My math wasn't incorrect nor was I in the wrong and the man behind the grill acted passive aggressive offering me the order for free in a digusting way . I decided to walk away. This has been our go-to place for Mexican Ice Cream for years. All the ice cream is hand made and it shows. Every flavor you can imagine and some you can't unless you are from Mexico. All amazing. You can't go wrong. A new addition is a TH taco stand on the Patio. Looks really good and smells good too. Next time we'll try the tacos and then have ice cream for dessert. read more

I left without purchasing anything after waiting for almost 10 minutes, because of her. I'm not about to spend my money and contribute to a place that treats customers like that. First time coming here and the ice cream was very good. I completely forgot what flavors I ordered though lol. I think I got the Nuevo (probably spelled wrong) and the tubulibu (again probably spelled wrong) in a waffle cone. It was really good and of course the service was fast being that it's an ice cream shop. My wife ordered some strawberry creme dessert which was good. Checked in, and they refused to validate the discount offer populated upon check in???? I showed them the yelp offered discount and showed the person that discount was populated after checking into the 3rd Avenue location and was told sorry nope ??? (3 scoops??) Am I missing something??? ... definitely are. Service was lacking today compared to every single other time that I have been here. I will update review after next visit as the reason is for ice cream but please be consistent on servings . Maybe display pictures of what 1 scoop ( small , med , large) should look like so we know what we are paying for and display or disclose what are the limitations when ordering certain sizes... I really wish that ur business could accommodate request such as 1 scoop of one flavor and 2 scoops of a different even if their is a n extra charge instead of saying "no we can't do that" come on this means more money... Although it makes no sense to me why flavors cannot be mixed when u make a purchase if all ice cream cost the same based on portion size vs based in flavors ...you are selling ice cream depending on size of container at one specific price... meaning one flavor is not more expensive then another so why not allow ur customers to mix it ? hours say 12:00-8:00, it was 12:07 and the lady was barely unlocking the door. did not even say good morning to the people waiting outside. she then proceeded to start setting everything up without letting us know how long it was going to take or aknowledging the fact that there were multiple people waiting outside. she took her sweet time, 12:20 and still not open nor a smile. i've been there two times prior and the people working there are not very warm. they don't welcome you when you walk through the door and they don't really have an enjoyable customer service. yes, prices are okay and the ice cream tastes fine, but i genuinely don't think i'll come back after today's experience. read more

Amazing paletas!! I didn't actually purchase my paleta at the store but my employer had an employee appreciation treat for us today and it was paletas from Tocumbo!! I had the coffee paleta and it was SO GOOD SO REFRESHING!! Other flavors that were available were watermelon, lime, mango, chamango, pistachio, fresca con crema and coconut! All my team members had nothing but good things to say about the paletas! I really liked mine because of how solid it was, not melting, so cold, it just hit the spot just right! I've been craving a mangoneada for a while now, but I honestly never knew what it was until I discovered this place. I mean, I've seen pictures of it before, but I wasn't sure where to get it/what it consisted of. Then, I saw this place with the help of Yelp! I got a small mangoneada--scoops of mango ice cream with chamoy, mango chunks, chili powder, and chaca (I think that's what it is) candy. My boyfriend got a fresada, which I'm not sure what it consists of aside from ice, strawberries, paletas, and such. Both were amazingly delicious treats! The mangoneada was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. They have a pretty wide collection of desserts and snacks to choose from! From interesting ice cream flavors, to tostilocos. It wasn't too busy when we went, though I heard it can get busy. The workers at the time were two females, and they were really friendly. I must try it and have my "mangonada" fix. Mangonada is on the rise! More and more people are finding out about this delicious dessert with a big spice kick! Mangonada has mango ice cream, top with real mangos, some Mexican chili candy, and chamoy (a sweet/spicy/sour sauce). I grew up with Lucas candy and LOVE this dessert! The mango ice cream was also really delicious! I think they make their own ice cream, it had small bits and pieces of mangos in it. You really have to grow up liking spicy/chili, sour, and sweet together in a combination (basically Asians & Mexicans)... my BF, on the other hand is white and probably never had one of those Mexican ice cream man come around with Lucas push pops and Lucus chili powder said "WHY?! Outside, Right by the entrance there are 4 big screws coming out of the concrete, pretty dangerous for a little kid, someone with sandals or an elder. It will be very unfortunate that someone gets injured and you are found responsible. Also the tables outside are dangerous, invest in other tables and chain them or put them inside after closing. My boyfriend took me here recently because I was craving ice cream and I'm so glad he did. + Mangonaeda -- comes with mango gelato, fresh mango, chamoy, chile, and tamarind candy. SOOO good if you're in the mood for something sweet with a slight sour/spicy kick. The small size was plenty. They also serve agua fresca -- the lady let us sample the strawberry and it tasted like a really fresh strawberry milk. Really good. I love nieverias I used to.go to the one a lot on market when i lived in se. I'm giving it 4 stars because the fruit was delish and the ice cream too but when I went it was about 11:00am and the doors weren't open and the sign on the door said they opened at 10...umm okay weird so I call.and.nobody answers and it's a very hot day we wanted ice cream so we walk to 7-11 for slurpees for the kiddos and shit my luck they only had one flavor working... ugh anyways so I call again and they finally answer and I'm.like oh what time do you guys open and he tells.me.at 10 I'm.like um.okay I was just there and the doors were closed like wtf why we're u guys closed I just went by there and.it was closed and he was like oh I.was defrosting something....ummmm okay what does that have to do with customers.
