    Coconut pineapple

Ordered the coconut pineapple. Super fresh and refreshing flavor! It was very coconut-y, which I liked. I also enjoyed the addition of the coconut shreds. The pineapple flavor was definitely overpowered by the coconut flavor though. Location is super nice and convenient. The store is really small and allows only one customer in at a time.

    Mango smoothie, acai bowl

Came to this place after a beach day and was supposed to order after my friend, but there was some guy who was in such a rush to get his order in. The girl who was working there was so patient and dealt with the situation really well. I ended up ordering a mango smoothie and my friend ordered an acai bowl. The smoothie was a bit watered down and there wasn't much flavor but tbh I don't mind it that way. The acai bowl was really good though! Overall the space is pretty small but there are seats right outside.

Amazing place to get a sweet treat by the pier service is quick and friendly I got my nieces some ice cream and myself a iced chai

This ice cream shop is tiny and is in the perfect location- right near the pier & steps away from the beach. They don't have a lot of ice cream flavors but what they have is perfect! The ice cream is delicious. Young lady at the register was not friendly but will return if in the area since my kiddo loves ice cream.

    Happy customers!

Came here with my family on a Saturday for the first time and so glad we did. The location is amazing and the ice cream is fantastic and very affordable. The staff working were helpful to my girls and let them sample a few of the flavors. This is such a gem in imperial beach and will be one of our new favs when we come to the beach

Cow-A-Bunga is located at the main entrance to the Imperial Beach pier. This place serves up coffee, ice cream, and shaved ice. They have tons of flavors to pick from and also seasonal flavors such as Pumpkin ice cream. After a long day at the beach soaking up that beautiful San Diego sun and cool breeze this place just sounded right. The logo is pretty unique and cool with a cow on a surf board and in one hand is coffee while the other hand is ice cream. The line was fairly long but moved pretty quick with a one in one out system. We were thinking about having some dippin dots ice cream but went ahead with the shaved ice. We were allowed 2 flavors so we went for Watermelon, and blue raspberry. Within minutes I was handed my shaved ice and was out the door to snap my beautiful picture. The prices were very reasonable and cheap for a ice cream shop located on the beach. The shaved ice was perfectly built and they didn't skimp out on the flavored syrup. Both flavors were great and we enjoyed the nice refreshment with scenic views of the beach and waves. Ill definitely come back to this place the next time I visit and maybe enjoy some nice iced coffee or tub ice cream. Thanks Cow-A-Bunga surfs up dude!

Having a sweet tooth craving while near the beach and on the pier? Check out Cow-a-Bunga This ice cream shop is very small and limited access for social distancing. The amount of flavors available ranges well. The upkeep of the shop is meh. Could be better or more aesthetically pleasing and clean. As for the ice cream, they are huge portions. Definitely get a cup if you cannot eat the ice cream quick. It will get messy once it's melting on a cone option. The ice cream flavors we picked were very good. The guy who helped up was nice and helpful.

Always a good treat after we get tacos at Mike Hess and walk on the pier! We always get double scoops or banana splits. Cute spot that hits the spot!

I ordered a hot mocha. Mask required for customers and staff. Nice staff asked customers to wait outside while drink is being made. Uses fresh espresso. Mocha not too sweet like starbucks. 5 stars for me.

Absolutely phenomenal cake, perfectly sweet but not too sweet, incredible texture and incredibly moist but not too wet like some tres leche cakes can be. My Dad loved it, thanks for the amazing cake and for being so helpful helping me pick which would be best. All around great experience and I can't wait to try other ones. They have a big variety of cakes all ready to go in their cake display. I chose the chocobombon since they didn't have any all vanilla cakes and this one had some vanilla in it and my husbands favorite is vanilla. I really liked that they had candles and cake decorations as well in the store and I bought a few Birthday embellishments which were all $1 each, great price! The staff was nice but not too friendly when I was trying to find out more about the cakes and flavors, I had to read the labels since she didn't provide me any details. The cake was just okay, it was very dense and a bit dry. The marshmallow frosting was a little thick and the overall flavors were definitely different but not sure I would get this flavor again. I would like to try a few more flavors and maybe a tres leches cake to see how those are. It is located in Chula Vista in a small shopping center, limited parking available.

He was the only one I knew of in San Diego doing maple bars as eclairs -I'm so sad that I haven't been able to find that anywhere else. The place has generous seating available, always clean and never dirty or messy, and is in a prime business lot at the intersection of IB Blvd/Coronado Ave and 13th Street. I've only been back once since the place was sold and I wasn't really into the flavors offered at that time, plus they were no longer offering the maple eclairs. Not sure if they are now, but I'm sure their other donuts are good since they've got good reviews and were in the Reader last year. Go check them out!

I like how the quality of the ice cream didn't go down throughout the drive back to OC. Ambiance: An's stores are always a vibe. You don't just go and buy ice cream. They sell their señorita bread in multiples of 5, and the price scales proportionally. They also have some packaged breads at the checkout counter and a display case with donuts and malasadas. I got 5 señorita breads for $4, and a guava malasada. When I was handed my bag of goods, the señorita breads were still warm! I've never had this type of bread before so I have no comparison. However, the fat, cigar-shaped breads were really satisfying while hot and fresh. They are buttery, sugary, and chewy inside. The texture was a bit homogenous for me, but still quite tasty. I had a second one hours later and it was not as nice. I think they would definitely benefit from a reheat if you have leftovers. The guava malasada was not my favorite. The jam inside was more musty than fragrant, and very artificially red. The dough itself was well-fried and soft, even fresh out of the refrigerator on the second day. I love the textural difference of the sugar crystals on the surface, compared to a traditional donut glaze. I ended up scooping the guava filling out of the middle and eating the fried bread. Overall, while I enjoyed the señorita breads, Chula Vista is a bit of a trek and I would not go out of my way to get them. I am interested in trying Starbread in the Bay, to see if they taste different.

For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better.
