I spoke with an employee named Josh and asked a few simple questions about their inventory and what the most expensive cigars they carried were. When I asked if they had anything over $100, Josh responded with, "I can charge you however much you want," and then told me that if anyone pays over $100 for a cigar, they're getting ripped off. I clarified that I hadn't bought anything yet and was simply asking questions because I was unfamiliar with cigars and wanted to get something high-end as a gift. I told him I'd stop by later that afternoon, and when I arrived, I was greeted and went into the humidor to browse. While I was looking around, I overheard Josh at the desk laughing about our phone conversation and mocking me to his friends, saying I got ripped off and making fun of the questions I had asked. As someone who was genuinely trying to learn and was fully prepared to spend good money on gifts, being publicly mocked for asking beginner questions was honestly shocking and extremely unprofessional. From cigarillos and rolling papers to quality glass pieces, vapes, torches, ashtrays, and other unique accessories that were all fairly priced too. The owner, Nick, has top-notch customer service and is just a genuinely good guy. Because Nick was such a cool dude, I ended up stopping by regularly just to check in and shop at the store. This year, I called ahead to ask about wine and beverage cups, and was pleasantly surprised to speak to a real, live person who not only confirmed they had what I was looking for but also told me exactly which aisle it was in. Total Wine & More really does a good job providing a wide array of products for a great price. On another visit, I was lured into a back room for a tequila tasting. Not liking, I tried to decline, but was convinced to give them a try - and I was not disappointed. Also, I like how at the front of the store they have racks of "airplane bottles" - small "samplers" that you can buy to try out various products. Again - I like this idea. It was a way for me to try peanut butter whiskey without sinking too much into a larger bottle...
