The food was good, the ambience is neighborhood diner like the other reviews say. I would go back with my friends, or my kids, but my wife wasn't too crazy about it. I had a burrito and went with the salsa verde like another reviewer suggested, and it was good choice. They do a pretty decent waffle, which not too many diners do in the area read more

Came here for the first time today and all I can say is 10/10 food and 10/10 services. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The Chorizo scramble is really good And I HIGHLY recommend the Corn pancakes!! Will definitely make this a regular spot now ! read more

only three stars because every time it seems my husband and I ordered from this place an item is missing. Today it's the bagel and cream cheese from both orders. We've ordered from them several times the food is really good when you get the items that you order. Delicious & fast service ! This is our 2nd Sunday in a row we're here for breakfast, this place does not disappoint. My husband and I were a little weary to come in after reading the reviews but I am so happy we gave them a chance. The food quality and taste is great, portions are a perfect filling size, drip coffee really good (nice & strong ). Indoor seating is cozy and a bit loud , a fun atmosphere - Outdoor is more relaxing and spacious, both are nice depending on your mood. The service is fast and everyone is very nice and attentive! I highly recommend this place for a good filling breakfast with a TUN of options. Seriously, there's something for everyone here. Has kitchen personal heard of seasonings Simple seasonings like salt and pepper? 10 am breakfast Potatoes are cold from yesterday , they didn't even manage to warm them up properly. My omelet was beyond bad . My 6 years old could cook better . Where did they get their training ? I've never had a Monte Cristo before. I have never really wanted to, until quarantine. So...I searched Postmates for the nearest Monte Cristo and Toasted Bun popped up. I was chuffed to receive my first ever Monte Cristo, delicious french toast outside and hammy cheesy inside. I give it a 10/10 tbh. The fries were not the best but they had also been steaming in the container for the last like 20 minutes so I'll let it slide. I would venture to come back here for a nice diner experience! read more

Stopped in on Sunday for brunch. They are extremely short on staff and disorganized with seating arrangements. You walk in either from the back door or the front, and you don't quite know whether you should grab the first clean table or ask to be seated at the front counter. The food came out pretty good. We ordered the veggie omelette and protein breakfast with egg white and chicken. Our waiter was really good, despite the place being extremely short on staff. read more

Stopped by here to have a quick breakfast before work. I waited 15 min to just get served my coffee and after 20 minutes plus of watching others get greeted and orders taken I finally had enough. Poor service and dirty coffee mugs. Do yourself a favor and choose a better breakfast restaurant option. Unless your into being treated like crap and drinking out of smelly dirty coffee cups. read more

I ended here completely by accident. I left DTLA and came to Glendale and decided to just look for a breakfast place. OK, the Toasted Bun appeared as I was driving and I got a street parking spot right in front. There is a lot in the back so parking is not a problem. The server came with the menu, asked about coffee, and was there shortly with my cup of fresh, hot coffee. She appeared to be a server with some experience because she knew how to treat customers and she had a great smile. There are a lot of things on their menu. I opted for the chipotle omelette because of the promise of spicy chipotle sauce on top. I got breakfast potatoes and rye toast. When the omelette arrived, it wasn't covered in chipotle sauce but rather there were areas where spicy chipotle sauce had been placed. It was nice and spicy. Standard toast and potatoes and refills for the coffee. This appeared to be a locals place as many of the customers knew each other. It's fun to eat in places like that. read more

I really wanted this place to be good because i live so close to it but It just doesn't cut It. It tasted like really, really cheap food. Little to no flavor, and just kind of very simple. The food and the service was awesome specially on a Saturday. Got the Huevos Rancheros and the kids loved their Pigs in a Blanket and King Richards Pancake. The restaurant is clean and the coffee keeps on coming. They are fully staffed on the weekend so it meant a super fast warm meal was prepared for us. read more

Gave a 2 just because the service was good but the food was inedible. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. I took two bites of the steak and gave up because it was unchewable. The gravy is not at all what country gravy tastes or looks like. The eggs were overcooked. They did take the plate away and not charge me. They offered to bring me something else but after seeing that I didn't want anything else. read more

Affordable and delicious! It was very filling and there were so many options of food to choose from. They literally had a "more breakfast" and "more lunch" section which made it even more difficult to pick! Thankfully, I came to the conclusion that I'll just have to be back and try the other options I had in mind for breakfast and lunch. My first time coming in and let's just say I won't be coming back. Service was 2 of 5 Drinks came in fast, to order our food however took a long time. We actually were getting ready to just pay for drinks and leave. Noticed our son was hungry so we stayed. Food took another long time but finally got to our table. Just ate from this place today (ordered for brunch) and boy oh boy, the food coma my friend and I have been put in is totally worth it. The onion rings are super crispy and not at all soggy (something I find common at other places I order onion rings from). Im definitely ordering extra next time! Be prepared though, if you order a burger- those MFs are STACKED (which is a good thing). I usually am able to finish a burger in maybeee 15 ish minutes? I had to take a break with this one because wooooo boy, the bloat was real. Only critique is, I ordered medium rare and the patty was a tad bit over cooked, but honestly everything else was so great I didn't even care. My friend enjoyed her bacon and cheese omelette and we devoured the banana pancakes immediately (not pictured here because it is already in our bellies). For a first time customer, I have to give this place a 5/5 for amazing food and friendly staff. We will definitely be ordering from here again :) read more

Well my guy and I was in the area so did a Google search and stopped in......ordered a jumbo combo and the pancakes were rubbery food was room temperature. Walked over here waiting out some car repairs. There is ample Street parking for those not on foot. They have everything you would expect from a diner including hundreds (or it feels like it) breakfast and lunch combinations. While they clearly updated some things, they manage to keep the vinyl booths and unlimited coffee that makes these places special. I had the corncakes which ate a little dry but enjoyed the meal overall. Service was okay; I think the woman serving me was far more attentive to others. I can never say what that is about but I was overtly slighted so 3 stars. read more

After all the mixed reviews, I just had to try this place while waiting for an oil change. What can I say, I like to take risks! Service was friendly. Food was exactly how I ordered it (and I can be picky). There were a LOT of yummy looking choices on the menu but I didn't try anything fancy this time, just fried eggs and bacon (2 eggs, 4 pieces of bacon). It came with a choice of fruit or hash browns and a choice of toast. It was a little more expensive (about $16) than I thought it was worth, but not too much more and the food was warm and tasty. French toast was not good, barely any egg coated on the bread. Coffee is water down. Floors and tables are dirty. Silverware are overused/old and need to be replaced. I wouldn't be coming back. I can go to Dennys for fractional of the price and their french toast are better. read more

I honestly had a pleasant experience here. Place was surprisingly cleaner than any diner I have ever visited. Service with a young waitress Brittany was extremely sweet a pleasant. It was 12:30 and she offered lunch but ordered from the breakfast menu. They have a wide variety of items to choose from and the coffee was pretty decent. The service Katie was top notch , I would recommend bringing your kids here for the silver dollar or King Richard pancake . The prices for the kids menu are fantastic . You can tell the kitchen cooks clearly don't care or look at what customers ask for. I placed an order on Uber eats and I clearly specified I don't want eggs cheese and sour cream in my meal. On the receipt it says no dairy and dry which was good until I opened my meal and saw that my request was completely ignored. Personally don't think I can ever trust to eat here again without dealing with a loss of money and cooks who don't care for there customers read more

It's made with a pasilla pepper stuffed with bacon, cheddar, and a poached egg. It's baked it in an iron skillet on top of potatoes, and it's topped off with ranchera sauce and sour cream. And let me tell ya, those house-made biscuits are amazing. Warm, crumbly, and melt in your mouth like a good biscuit should. The house-made jams are also a nice treat and feel like having a sample of grandma's (or mom's) kitchen. On of my visits, a friend ordered the Banana Bread French Toast, and it made me wish I had two stomachs so that I could eat that as well. But like a good friend, she noticed that I was eyeing her breakfast like a puppy dog begging from scraps. So she was gracious enough to split some and do a trade with one of my biscuits. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday, and there wasn't much of a selection left, including the highly sought-after cinnamon roll. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us warmly, and I immediately asked if that was all the pastries they had. He said yes. I contemplated leaving because of the nonexistent cinnamon roll, but I didn't want to be rude, so I decided to give the bakery a try since we were already there. So, we basically took half of what remained behind the glass display case: a Peach Almond Croissant, a Raspberry Pistachio Croissant, an Almond Croissant, and then my curiosity focused on a few lonely-looking pastries that were unfamiliar to my discerning eyes. I asked the gentleman what they were, and he replied with something that sounded completely foreign to me: Kouign-Amann. Kouign-Amann (pronounced queen ah-MAHN) is a traditional pastry from the region of Brittany, France. It is often considered one of the richest pastries in the world because it is made with just a few simple ingredients in generous proportions: bread dough, butter, and sugar. Figuring we needed a few more sweets for the road, we took all the remaining Kouign-Amanns. Two were the traditional version, and the other two were filled with crème and blueberry jam. We also ordered a Café Americano and a Café Mocha. While we waited for our drinks, I simply couldn't wait any longer. Like a kid on Christmas morning, I eagerly opened my gift and dug right into the Kouign-Amann. Hesitantly, I tore off a tiny piece with my fingers, expecting nothing extraordinary, and instantly gave birth to a brand-new experience that exploded in my mouth. The crisp exterior gave way to the soft, flaky center, followed by waves of what tasted like delicate honey. I tore off another piece and shared it with my wife. One look at her eyes told me she wanted more. By the time our drinks were ready, we had devoured one of the Kouign-Amanns and confessed to the gentleman behind the counter that we had just experienced pure ecstasy in the form of a pastry. Kouign-Amann is, in fact, one of the richest pastries in the world, so don't let the unfamiliar name keep you from trying one. The Café Americano and the Café Mocha were also exceptionally well prepared. With everything that's happening in the world these days, a simple yet profound experience like this reminded me how wonderful life can still be. Like Arnold said... "I'll be back." Enjoy!

Knowing there was no realistic way for me to drive 20 minutes back to the restaurant before closing, I expected at least some effort to find a reasonable solution. Instead, I felt like I was simply being told there was nothing they could do. When I said I would contact upper management for a resolution via email, the employee even seemed relieved, rather than concerned about resolving the issue. I understand mistakes happen, but the restaurant made the mistake--not me. The least they could have done was offer a refund for an overpriced burrito that I didn't even order. It's now past midnight, and I have to drive way out of my way just to find somewhere that's still open to get food. Very disappointing customer service, and unfortunately I won't be ordering from here again.

Toasted Bun in Glendale has been on my radar for a while, and I finally had the chance to visit. Unfortunately, the experience was a letdown from the start. I ordered their patty melt, hoping for a classic, satisfying dish, but what I received was a lackluster version with limp bread, a subpar three-cheese blend, and raw onions that overpowered the other flavors. The hamburger patty tasted like a bland, unseasoned mass-produced filler, lacking the smoky flavor of a well-grilled patty. I was not alone in my disappointment. Reading other reviews on Yelp, it seems like many other customers have encountered the same problems with the quality of the ingredients and the lack of attention to detail in the dishes. It's a shame because the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant enough, with modern decor and friendly staff. I did have their breakfast as well, and while it's hard to mess up breakfast, I still hesitate to recommend it after my experience with the patty melt. It's clear that Toasted Bun needs to focus on improving the quality of their ingredients and attention to detail in their dishes if they want to live up to their potential. I went today with my husband to celebrate our Valentine's Day. we sat down and we were brought our coffees. After 15 minutes had passed we still hadn't received our menus. Then two gentlemen came in and sat down. With in 2 minutes a server brought them their menus. this is the second time they did some bullshit of this kind. I too work in the fast food Industry. Customers and workers alike have to be treated with respect. If they dont respect their customers then why work in customet service. If your not happy with ur job find something new but for FUCK SAKE don't ignore people. I have ordered from this restaurant multiple times through door dash and there is always something wrong with my order. The last 2 times, I would call in and make sure the order was correct. The first time, I spoke to a gentleman and he was very nice and helped make sure my order was done right. This last time that I called in today to make sure my order was correct, the lady who answered the phone was very rude, couldn't understand what I ordered and then when I explained it to her she got mad and said "the order is already done, so i'll see what I can do" and then hung up on me. I didn't get to go over the rest of the order. I order from my work, so it's usually orders of $50 or more. We will not be ordering from this restaurant again. read more

We've been going here for years, and it was one of our favorite old style diners. However, recently, it may have new owners or new management, because they completely re-designed the interior with disastrous results. If I wanted to go to Denny's or IHOP, I wouldn't be at the Toasted Bun. But that's what it looks like. Horrible plastic flowers in ugly "planters" on the walls. Cheap Home Depot light fixtures, etc. AGH!! It used to look very traditional and "old school." So much for restrained taste in decorating. As to the food, it seems to not be as good as previously. My steak not cooked as I requested, etc. The wait staff is sweet and works hard, but I'm afraid the Toasted Bun has now become homogenized. Too bad. read more

We all ordered something different to share: The Dutch Babies, French Crepes, and Bacon Waffles. Everything was good but I think the Dutch Babies take the cake. At first service was a bit slow (even though there were only 3 other parties dining at the 8 o'clock hour). I finished my cup of coffee and it sat empty for a solid 10 minutes. Then as people started trickling in and a line started to form, they were much quicker to come around and check on everyone. The coffee is delish. Fresh, hot and tasty. So good I drank it black! And the cheese, too, was not flabby and unremarkable but rather a thick, stretchy, flavorful melt that complemented the fresh toppings perfectly. Refreshing pickles and tomatoes, perfectly tender sautéed mushrooms, and plenty of the signature sauce. I will be back for this burger, and to try his other sandwiches. I do not mess around when it comes to burgers. This one is exceptional.

The food was delicious, everything tasted fresh, and you can tell they care about quality. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant was very clean, comfortable, and had great background music that created a relaxing atmosphere. It's not easy to impress us when it comes to restaurants, but this place definitely did. We're very happy we stopped by and will absolutely come back the next time we're in the area. Highly recommended!
