The food was so good! I was impressed with the quality and portion sizes. The staff was also quite kind, including our wonderful server Bronni who was attentive and polite. Also, the vanilla latte I ordered really tasted high quality! It was a bit pricey but it was worth it

Easy to find, and visible from the main road with plenty of parking.

This is an all day breakfast restaurant which also serves lunch, cocktails and handheld dinners. It's a small place with a bar and a small town feel. The service was good for breakfast. They offer fresh squeezed orange juice which was delicious. The grits are also very good. The restrooms need remodeling but were clean.

Mega Mosa and small oj

Brilliant at the basics. The short story: a diner focused on brunch foods and bevvies with considerate and capable staff. Don't miss the pig candy! The long story: tucked next to our hotel, we bypassed the breakfast buffet and braved a (very short) walk to Toast! The sign is tiny, hidden on the left side of the Piggly wiggly sign, so dont miss it. They've got full espresso with fun flavor lattes, fresh drip coffee (of course), loaded bloody Mary, and about 10 flavors of mimosa. The latter comes in a 'Mega Mosa' 24oz that was just perfect for my Sunday brunch. Also fresh oj! Don't miss the pig candy (candied bacon with juust the right amount of spice. Partner got the crab cake Benny, which he said was "good but not worth writing a review about" I got chicken and waffles, which was also good. Waffle was a bit dry but the chicken was FRESH! Grits are where it's at, for real. Peppered just right and full of cheesy goodness (but no cheese pull so don't be disappointed!) There's a lot of places that do a passable breakfast, but I've rarely found a place that was better than "just ok" at literally every measure.

Our party of 10 stopped in at Toast! and had a wonderful experience. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, which included omelets, shrimp and grits, biscuits and gravy, avocado toast, fried green tomatoes, and two orders of beignets. The fried green tomatoes were the table favorite- SO good!! The Snickerdoodle Latte, Bloody Mary, and Peach Bellini Mimosa were also great! We sat outside on their patio, and had quick service despite the large size of our group. Our server, Aaron, took great care of us and was so kind- one of the best servers I've ever had! Would absolutely recommend giving Toast a try

Toast! All Day was a breath of fresh air! I walked in for a late morning breakfast last week while on vacation in the Charleston area and was immediately seated. The menu was expansive (not expensive) - there was so much to choose from! You can eat as healthy or unhealthy as you want! But, once I saw my all time breakfast favorite, Steak and Eggs, my decision was made! I added cheese to the eggs and the side of grits, and I ordered a Bloody Mary to go along with it! It was an excellent breakfast! The service was great definitely check them out!

Toast was a great spot in West Ashley. It is right off of 17. Fairly easy to get in and out of the parking lot, which is shared with a few other businesses, such as a grocery store. We went in during a busy morning, but our service was great. Very efficient! I enjoyed the shrimp and grits! The environment is casual.

Combo - eggs scrambled perfectly with cheddar, bacon, white toast and yummy grits.

Ate here on a Saturday a few weeks ago and it was our second visit. We have a kid going g to school in Charleston, thus the frequent trips. Forgot to write a review the first time, but both trips were consistently great (right down to the same server!). Our first trip we started with the beignets. They were amazing! So light and fluffy. The jam they come with is yummy, too. This time we skipped them, as we were pressed for time and wanted to get on the road. Still kicking myself! They have a great menu and one would think we would try something new this trip, but one would be wrong. I got the standard breakfast combo with eggs, bacon, grits and toast. I always judge a place by their scrambled eggs. Watch any food network show and you know perfect scrambled eggs just aren't as easy as they look. Cook them too long and they turn to rubber and worse, have crispy pieces. Too short, and they are runny. Toast made them perfect both times! I ordered them scrambled with cheddar and both times they came out with a generous amazing of melty cheddar cheese. Just like I do them myself at home! The bacon was cooked well - not overly crisp and not limp. And the grits were exactly as grits should be. Hubby had the steak and eggs again. Here's the thing with breakfast steak and eggs - the steak is smaller of course, and that means harder to cook to order. Hubby likes his steak rare. Both visits they were on the money with the rare steak! It was also not a tiny gristly thing like many breakfast places do. His sunny side up eggs were done well, too. Nice runny yolks. The service is fairly fast, friendly and the food is fantastic! We'll definitely be back when we're in the area at the end of the month. Maybe I'll try something else on the menu?

Not quite a diner, not quite a bistro, I'd define Toast as a casual sit down restaurant where you can get breakfast, lunch or both! The food was delicious. We started with the candied bacon and I had the fried tomato BLT. Ended with a to go caramel latte that wasn't quite a coffee, but more like a delicious melted milkshake. Will be back!

Chicken Apple Sausage and grits...

The service was excellent but the food not so much. I love grits but the grits here were too salty. My wife loves corn beef hash but did not like it here.

Gross overcooked "poached" eggs actually not even poached and theres no hollandaise. This is supposedly the eggs benedict florentine.

Everything went extremely well from the check-in experience, to the food, and the service. Our reservation was for 6:30pm but we got there a full hour early. They gave us a table immediately, no problem. Our server was Maisie and she was wonderful. Patient. Attentive. Super friendly. We ordered drinks and the Pimento Cheese Fritters. They were incredible! We also tried the She Crab Bisque and it was over the top! Delicious and full of lump crab meat. When Maisie brought us our first plates, she asked us if we were considering the pork chop, which is exactly what we were interested in. She said there were only two left and held one for us. This is the kind of excellent service she provided throughout the meal. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a wonderful wood smoked flavor. The whipped potatoes and roasted heirloom baby carrots were the perfect accompaniment. Nothing has changed inside or out since my last visit. The vibe is Charleston laid back and comfortable. I'm so glad I came back.

It managed to be both upscale and casual at the same time. We loved it! My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered the short rib sliders & disco fries to share. Both were excellent!! I would definitely come back here again and would also recommend checking this place out if you're in the area :)

I saw a woman who had just finished a conversation on her cell phone walking into one part of the L-shaped facility, so I followed her. "The host" asked whether I wanted to be seated inside or outside. I told him I had no preference. Landon, who became my server, then escorted me to the attached building, carrying menus and two glasses of water. Shortly after I was seated, Landon approached and asked if I would like a drink. I ordered a Margarita. Since I already knew what I wanted for my entrée, I also ordered the French Dip with French Fries. The French Dip arrived warm, but the fries were cold. When Landon inquired about my meal, I informed him of the situation. He immediately took the fries away. After I finished the French Dip, I received the fries. I do not know whether they were the original fries that had been reheated or a fresh order. Regardless, these fries were hot. Shortly afterward, the young man who had originally asked where I wanted to sit came to my table and removed my dirty dishes. Landon then brought me my check. Due to the circumstances, I was given a discount on my bill. Anyway, I did not hear either of them ask whether I wanted dessert. Perhaps because of my complaint, they just wanted me out. Oh well-- their loss! I really wanted to tried their Sundae! Landon again apologized for the cold French fries. He provided very good service throughout my meal, so I do not fault him for the kitchen's mistake. Based on the restaurant's L-shaped design, with two separate buildings and the kitchen located in one building while some of the dining area is in the other, I realize that meals may become cooler by the time they reach the table. Therefore, I would highly recommend requesting a table in the building where the bar is located. Lastly, serving water in a plastic cup, in my opinion, gives the restaurant a rather cheap appearance. Considering the overall setting, I would expect water to be served in a proper glass.
