The owners have changed and the building has been upgraded but it's still my number one choice of place to go tanning. It's located in my hometown and family owned. I love supporting the locals. The staff is always so welcoming and greets you with a smile. There are different levels of beds, of course the better roomier beds cost more but I do well with just the level 1 beds. There are always monthly deals on tanning packages. This month I got 1 month for 30$! I love their visit specials. I usually grab the 50 for 50 deal when it comes around. There is a large selection of lotion! Best deals and brands in my opinion. It is always clean here! Beds are cleaned after every use by a staff member. There is always a nice treat left in the room (mint or candy) every visit. I've tried many different tanning salons but I always come back to this one. You can not compare the price and the customer service! This will always be my number one choice!

Claire helped me set up my package and gave me a nice deal on my first lotion. The spray tans here don't turn you orange because they use a violet base instead! I was nervous for no reason. They're always running deals for lotions, often for tanning packages. Upon initial sign up, they first give you a skin evaluation to help ensure you're not using the wrong bed at the wrong time and won't harm your skin. The owner is heavily involved in the community, they're in every parade, every holiday event downtown. Kist by the Sun is the *ONLY* tanning choice for me in Ashtabula!

I was forced to give them a star. they deserve zero stars. My advice to anyone think of going to…read morethis location is to NOT. They do not maintain their machines/booths. I had a monthly membership for spray tanning and every time I try to go there to use it the booths are either being worked on or not working at all. This month (april2025) I actualLu got to use their services only one time due to this issue. When I did use it, the machine then started blowing freezing cold air on me when I had wet spray all over me. It was awful. I complained to the manager and they did not care and offered no solutions, only excuses. When I complained to corporate, I received a $10 refund out of $42 I paid for the month, stating that 32.00 is their cost per spray tan. Not caring that I was unable to go due to their machines not working or that the one I did go to was botched. Just save your money and go to another company!!

From day one, I've been greeted with a friendly face each time, expertise on the beds and products, and a great tanning experience. I genuinely look forward to stopping in! I feel their prices are very average. I can definitely say how pleased I am with the regular promotions! It seems they always have something going on to get the best bang for your buck. Like most salons, they have a 24 hour wait until the next time you can tan. You can either text in to find out when your next time is or use their app.

These people ARe here to serve the customers, and i sure as hell don't give them any grief, so i feel this was not acceptable.
