I made my appt right away and showed up the same day within 40 minutes. They also accept walk-ins. The staff were so nice and my nail artist was pretty detail oriented. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she recreated the nail shape and got the color pretty accurate to my nail inspo. I went on a Tuesday and it wasn't super busy, which I liked. My favorite thing about my nail artist was how gentle she was. I've been to other salons where they were really harsh, filed down my nails so thin, and even made me bleed. But this salon was not like that. It cost me $40 for dip powder manicure. I would go again and even try to get a nail design next time! read more

This is right in downtown Westbrook and I have been coming here for a few years. Every time I do they do a great job. I get the regular pedicure and they do a massage and everything for $35. I visited TNT for the first time yesterday. I had a full set and pink & white. Lea was my nail tech. she did a great job, giving me exactly what I asked for. She was efficient and friendly. I also had a predicure. I didn't catch the young lady's name. She did the job quickly, I got gel polish. Her skill was average. I think she may be coming up the learning curve. I have no complaints. The salon was clean and busy. I found out after I arrived that they do have parking in the back of the building. I will be returning! read more

I experienced Islamophobia during my nail appointment at TNT Nails. I came in for a fill-in for my acrylics. While getting my nails done for a quick session, the person doing my nails kept making offensive remarks about my hijab. We started with small talk, but she abruptly asked me about my hijab and why I wear it. When I mentioned college and traveling, she said, "So when you go [travel], you'll take it off?" out of the blue. I told her no. Then she went on to say that she doesn't understand my culture and wished I would "show off." I explained that there is also beauty in modesty. Overall, it was a really uncomfortable experience, and I felt stuck since she was literally holding my hand to do my nails. There was an issue with pricing later on. I assumed my fill-in would be $25, as the price displayed by the door for fill-ins says, "Fill in - Acrylic... $25." However, they charged me $45, as if I got their "Pink and White Gel" fill-in. I only had red nail polish on my already-done nails. If they are going to charge for any acrylic nail with color (nail polish, gels, dips, etc.), they should get rid of the $25 price on the sign. They also mentioned my nail length for the higher charge, as if they did my original acrylics when it was a fill-in. So, I left with a red fill-in, paying the same price I would for my usual full set of new nails and a damaging experience. While I don't mind engaging in conversations about my culture or religion, I believe it's essential to highlight the importance of maintaining basic etiquette and decency when approaching conversations with strangers. It's natural for people to be curious and ask questions, but there's a line between genuine curiosity and making someone feel ostracized. While I welcome the opportunity to share and educate others about my culture and beliefs, it's crucial to approach these conversations with respect and an understanding that certain choices, like wearing a hijab, are deeply personal. I hoped that, when I initially responded with a firm "no" regarding removing my hijab, it would have sufficed for the nail tech to understand and respect my decision. I've visited TNT Nails sporadically due to its proximity, but I've had past encounters with workers who asked other intrusive questions about my religion, some of which turned uncomfortable. In all my visits, I've never witnessed such intrusive and judgmental questions posed to other customers. For example, the woman next to me was casually asked about her plans for the night, while I was being questioned about removing my hijab. This will be my last time going to TNT Nails. read more

Today was my first visit to the salon. I was able to get an appointment quickly (one day ahead of time). I was having an acrylic fill done. The service was done by Le, the owner. The salon is comfortable, and has a fun lively atmosphere. Le was very proud to tell me that the salon has been in business for 20 years, family owned and run (which I love!) My service was delightful. I have sensitive dry hands and bleed very easily. Le was so gentle it felt like a pampering. We also talked about my current shape, and what I was hoping to have done given my nail shape to work with. After I picked out a color (they had a ton to choose from) Le showed me other options in similar shades to make sure I was happy with my choice. I never felt rushed. Le took her time in making sure every detail on my nails were perfect. I'm used to a fill service being banged out in 15 minutes. My service took about 45 which I was pleased with. I am not someone who spends money on personal appearance luxuries, and I am so happy with how they came out. I've booked ahead for my next appointment. Went in with call ahead appointment. Pedicure was fine but over priced. Showed what I wanted in a picture and got a completely different color. Had a fill in and it is very uneven and not well leveled out and was obvious it was a fill in. I got chrome and it was supposed to be red but it's fully pink and my thumb is green. Also again very over priced for what you're getting. Not a terrible place if you're just looking for regular manicures but there are definitely better spots around. read more

We were from out of town. A lovely woman did my nails(dip) I regret I don't know her name . She was really a nice woman- last mani booth on the right! Place was clean-all employees seemed nice & we're all doing a nice job. My daughter ( 13 yo) got a full set by the owner, who she loved, bcuz she was gentle. I would DEF recommend this place. It's def busy, so I suggest making an appointment. The online appointment thing was kind've confusing- I can see how it would work if they have the time available, but if the time requested isn't available there is a lot of back & forth. They should make it so they can send back a suggestion time closest to the time you want. It got confusing trying to book 2 people for diff things around the same time. I don't know why there were so many bad reviews on this place... I had an awesome time!! I didn't have an appt and they took me right in. I'm color blind so the nail tech helped me pick out some colors, and we got to it. The woman who did my mani/pedi was great. Talked to me the whole time and even explained to me what the other woman were talking about when they talked in the native language. She also explained why she does that... She wants her clients to feel comfortable, but sometimes it's just easier and fast to explain something in their native language then in English! She did an awesome job with my service and it came out great. She didn't try and push any other services on me while I was there and it was amazing. Will go again for sure! read more

I've been here twice now and have been severely disappointed both times. First time I came for a pedicure and it was just average nothing bad nor good about it that was until I was cut on my big toe by my nail tech, not so much that I required a bandaid or anything but enough that it hurt and I preemptively tensed up in fright whenever the tech came back to me with clippers. This second time I came with a friend to get manicures. Now I had called to make an appointment before hand and had mentioned that I had gel still on my nails from a previous mani and when I got there, they commented, "Oh you didn't tell us you have gel on your nails". Yes I did. I decided to go with a french manicure. It started out nice enough but the woman who did my nails, I believe her name was Lee, was rough when she did the filling nicking my cuticles. And then as she applied the clear coat for it was very sloppy she missed some spots on my nails so when I put my hand under the uv light to harden it came out all bumpy and filled cracks and it was uneven. Not to mention she only did one coat of polish before she applied the white french tips. It just felt like she was rushing and wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. Needless to say she cut my cuticle fairly significantly from not paying attention. My nails came out looking like something I could have done myself. I'm not impressed and will definitely not be returning here ever again. read more

Moved back to the Westbrook area about a month ago, and stopped into TNT in between running some errands on my day off. They were able to get me right in which I appreciated, without an appointment. I needed a gel pedicure, and Sam did a great job! I'm pretty sure he did my nails a year ago when I was passing through, and I was happy then as well. One of my toenails was broken and he fixed it-not sure how I managed that. I knew they were busy with it being a Friday afternoon, but he took his time and made sure I was comfortable and happy with the service. I like how they use hot stones and remove the skin from the bottoms of your feet. I'm pregnant and my ankles are always swelled up, the massage was also not rushed and felt great. I had a not so great manicure done about five days prior elsewhere, and since I enjoyed my pedi so much I just decided to go ahead and get a gel mani too. They fit me in and I left happy with fresh beautiful nails for the weekend. They were a little expensive, but as long as the services last a couple weeks I'll be okay with that. I would try to make an appointment with Sam again as I thought he was awesome! read more

Don't get me wrong, there are still very talented and friendly technicians who work here. They also upgraded their establishment so it's much cleaner and fresher. Is fresher a word? Unfortunately they have become very popular (kind of the nail monopoly in Westbrook), so even if you have an appointment (which is highly suggested), you're going to end up waiting a while. So not sure what the point of an appointment is. Even more unfortunate is the last mani pedi I had was TERRIBLE. The pedicure lasted about 12 minutes from start to finish and the excess cuticle was only paid attention to on my big toes. Barely any scrubbing or exfoliation took place. I watched in jealousy as Terry, who is awesome, spent a long time removing the dead, gross skin from my neighbors feet. My polish was alllll over my toes. Next came the manicure where I opted for just a nice buff instead of polish. I wasn't in the mood to wait half hour for my nails to dry, and thought au natural would look nice. Figured maybe a little extra time would be spent on the cuticle removal or massage. Nope! I bite my nails and also have a lot of cuticle so they usually are jagged and just unattractive. I love getting the cuticle removed and filing down the jagged edges. I received neither. A suggestion of a file took place in approximately 10 seconds and about a tenth of the cuticle that could have been removed was removed. I came home and filed my nails, and noticed that the polish on my toes is all bubbly. Next time I will make an appointment with a specific technician. read more

The job was pretty rushed. We were the only clients for about half the time and my nail tech started out by doing the wrong service. Additionally, she didn't remove all of my old polish, which is annoying and sloppy. I didn't even have a "hard to remove" polish on. The massage was nothing to write home about, which was a very different experience for my mom, who got a lengthy massage for the same price. Not consistent and sloppy. Just moved to the area and this salon totally works for me. It's really cheap and they do a really great job. The inside could be kept a bit cleaner, but with that said you kind of get the low price. For example, for less than $20 you can get an acrylic fill and tan. So, for me this offsets the kinda not so nice inside. But the woman who filed my nails was very disrespectful, she never asked "hows your day" it took her so long to find a color that was right in front of her face. He got polish all over my fingers, cut me when trimming my cuticles and missed many spots on the sides of my nails. Even with gel polish in the past at other salons, it often lifts and wears in just a few days. I'm now 12 days in and it still looks AMAZING. I can't wait to go back and have my nails done again. Firstly I walked in with a friend, clearly let them know we were in a rush so we asked if the could take us and they said yes. We picked our colors and sat down. A gentlemen started on my nails, quietly. He remained quiet until he demanded I stop moving right that second, although I was hardly moving, being a regular nail salon addict I always know to stay still as possible. Between not speaking and how he gave me instructions it was strike one. My friend, still waiting next me 20 minutes later was pushed aside for someone who had just walked in. Strike two. I washed my hands and as I walked back to my spot the employee said rudely "why do you have so many colors?!" (I had 4) I told the gentleman what I wanted for a design, which really wasn't that difficult (all fingers one color and the ring finger was to have the colors of candy corn, yellow, white and orange) he immediately rolled his eyes and asked why I wanted that and I told him Halloween and they are a fave candy of mine he told me I should just go buy a bag and not get it painted on my nails because I could not eat my nails. This was said at least 7 more times between sighing and eye rolling. The paint job came out okay nothing to brag about. I didnt even ask for the glitter or my eyebrows done i wanted fearful that hed just continue to be rude. Behind me my friend asked for a spider Web on her ring finger except the gentleman told her they did not do designs here as well as sighed the entire time. I was charged $25 and my friend was charged $22. The person who did my friends nails at one point was on the phone and didn't look at my friends hands while he talked on the phone, using the electronic buffer. She finished a minute after I had even though she started 30 minutes after me and had a much more detailed design. The two gentlemen disappeared into the bathroom for a good 15-20 minutes and we left. As we left we saw two displays of example designs, even though the one guy claimed they did not do that. We also were bummed that we didn't get a hand massage like the other costumers around us did and that each of us receives every time elsewhere.
