Normally, I don't care if artists are "different" so long as they are talented... however; this is not the case when looking for a wedding photographer. I find posing in front of the camera AWKWARD as it is. Posing with your intended in lovey dovey ways is extra awkward. Doing said act in front of a mumbling expressionless photographer or an arrogant self-important cameraman makes everything worst - who wants that? Luckily for us, we found Jason! Wedding planning was the most stressful thing I've done in my whole life but our photographs were a breeze. Jason seems like a person we would be friends with. He has an easy going nature and we immediately felt comfortable with him. His prices were fair although it seems that he's going up due to the demand. He's also publishing a book for his insanely captivating photos of his daughters and getting a lot of recognition. JWL was one of our favorite, if not the best, vendor we had the pleasure working with. Initially, we did not want to take Engagement Photos. However, Jason insisted that it was a great way for us to get to know each other and for us to get used to being in front of the camera. I'm so pleased that he did because I think I love our engagement photos more than the wedding ones! Although, I have to say, our wedding pictures are pretty spiffy too! I suggested going to the SF Exploritorium for the engagement shoot and Whole Foods (my play on being domesticated) for wedding pictures and Jason was as game as we were. The images turned out fantastic and Jason was great at capturing our quirky personalities. He has an amazing eye and superb visual composition. You need to check out his blogs! You need to hire this guy!!! He Says : Jason was one of our favorite vendors in our wedding by far. From our initial meeting and engagement shoot to the wedding day and ultimately the delivery of our proofs, Jason has always been punctual and professional. Even his responses to email were lighting fast. When in action, Jason was great at talking us through all the poses, knew just the right moments for "natural/candid" shots, but also easily took charge with making sure our large wedding party and 200+ guests were included in our receiving line photographs. Everyone agreed he was easygoing and fun to work with, not to mention so friendly and polite! Jason is a creative and energetic photographer who is not afraid to experiment with different angles, filters, and lighting, or simply just "get in there" to produce a memorable shot. It's amazing to watch him scan a potential background with one eye shut, quickly compose the picture in his head, place you in it, gently pose an arm/leg/strand of hair/other body part, and tweak each nuance until it's perfect. He captures emotions so well. And yet for all his skill and creativity, Jason is extremely modest about his work. I have been to and in many weddings, and I have to say Jason is as sincere and considerate as they come. Our trust (and hard-earned wedding funds) were well invested in jwl photography!

It's kind of a weird statement to make, but we actually looked through two albums and they seemed decent. She simply ran out of excuses for taking horrible pictures. Take some responsibility and learn to accept criticism for a poorly done job.
