This review is way overdue but we had waited a while due to legal proceedings that resulted in a judgment against Preserve Studio. Unfortunately, Shannon and Preserve have not yet fulfilled their judgment. Here's what happened: February 2019, we had an engagement photo session planned with Shannon in Lodi. We had left San Jose in the morning to meet her by the agreed upon time. On our drive to Lodi, Shannon text us informing us that she would not be able to take our photos due to meds she had taken. The same morning and prior to this text, however, we had confirmed on time, location, we even talked about outfits, and which colors to wear as the weather was a bit cloudy which would make the pictures turn out better, according to Shannon. The day before the shoot we also had made our second installment payment (we had engaged her for engagement photos and wedding photos). Interestingly, as soon as payment was cleared, Shannon cancelled on us, breaching terms of our contract. Shannon refuses to refund us the $3,700 we had paid her for services that were never rendered. We both engaged lawyers, but as we were coming to a settlement, she ghosted her lawyer as well as us. We took Preserve Studios to court on advice of legal counsel, and we won. However, she has not responded, has moved or changed locations, has not filed her required statement of information with the Secretary of State, and is considered a suspended business. She claimed that she did not have the funds to pay us back. However, she posted about her world travels on social media and continues to do so. We've made attempts to reach out to no avail. She is a complete fraud and not trustworthy whatsoever. She took our money and has traveled all around the country and the world while we got nothing. read more

This review is a bit past due but I wanted to take the time to make sure that I capture exactly how incredible Shannon and her team really are. Our wedding took place at the end of June 2020, which means that even though Shannon and I had sat down and planned out so many of the details - which without her I would have been totally lost - all of those plans quickly came under a mountain of uncertainty as Shelter in Place was ordered in March. Over the next several months, all of our plans were completely uprooted and it was tragic - but you know who was there the entire time telling me it was going to be ok? The ONLY person that was in my court figuring out how we could make this work with the day by day changes and having faith that this wedding would be beautiful? It was Shannon. We didn't even know whether we would be able to get married in the church until 2 weeks beforehand. I told Shannon and she was on it. We had restrictive rules that we had to follow including a limit on the number of people (15) and mask wearing for everyone - but Shannon was determined to make this day so beautiful and memorable for us - even with all the limitations. On the day of, she and her mom took care of the flowers for the wedding - they were stunning. She made me feel like everything was normal. And when we got the photos and videos back (in incredible turnaround time btw), you would have never guessed that we had to change a single thing for the wedding! They were beautiful, and I'm so thankful she captured the day that as she promised me in my darkest moments, would be the most beautiful and happiest day of my life! Shannon was great from the first conversation with her. From the start, we told her what we were looking for - artsy, different angles, emotion, story telling - not just the same cookie-cutter wedding photos. We wanted someone who we could trust to tell us what to do and how to pose so that our vision would be carried out. Shannon did just that! Our engagement shoot was the perfect opportunity to familiarize ourselves with Shannon and get comfortable in front of the camera. In keeping with our wedding theme, she recommended Lodi Lake which resulted in beautiful, outdoor photos. I'm very picky with photos and was definitely on a hunt for someone who would be able to capture our most important day the way I have always imagined. After a long search of looking at over a hundred photographer's websites/portfolios across many platforms on the internet, I finally found Shannon. Her work is just so stunning, and the thing I noticed the most was how well she captures emotions in her photos. Her work is not just beautiful pictures -- they tell stories. And that is what I was looking for. We scheduled a phone consultation with Shannon, and we instantly felt a connection. Her super bubbly personality is just so lovely and fun, and she really makes everything as stress free as possible. Shannon is very detailed and professional in the most relaxing way. Our first photoshoot was our engagement photoshoot. Shannon sees things that other people don't. We went to a campground and took photos with a bunch of wildly shaped branches, and climbed a giant dirt mound in the middle of nowhere for the most gorgeous sunset photos. We trust her completely and will do anything she tells us to, no matter how weird it may sound, because we know the outcome would be amazing, and it truly is. Our wedding was supposed to be in September 2020, but of course with the pandemic we had to postpone. We decided to elope on our original date, but then California was on fire around the location that we had planned, so we also had to postpone that last minute, too. Shannon was so beyond understanding and she even helped us look for a new location and a new elopement date. Most of her other clients also had the same problem with postponement, and she was juggling all the rescheduling with grace and was still as calm and fun as ever. Shannon planned the timeline on our elopement day for us, and her mom did our stunning florals (check out RoseMarry & Vine for amazing florals). I wish I had the same experience as the other reviewers...for me, all that Shannon has shown me is that her studio provides disappointment after disappointment. When I got engaged, I knew that the ONE thing I wanted to splurge on for our wedding (06/17/17) was the photography and videography. I immediately got on yelp and started looking at recommendations and pictures. I fell in love with the pictures from Preserve Studios. I contacted Shannon Lea Rock and was very happy with our initial convo, a little over a year out. About 4 months out, she contacted me about needing a timeline and offered her company as a florist as well. I got back to her a little later that evening with the timeline and saying that we were interested in floral from her business as well. I waited a month and hadn't heard anything back from Shannon, so we had to confirm another florist. I emailed her to inform her of this and to ask if we could meet about our timeline and if I could pay our remaining balance. She got back to me the next day saying that my previous email was "simply buried in with the others." There was a mixup with the timeline template she had sent me, so I asked if we could talk about adjustments. She let me know that she was busy and told me that she would contact me the next week. Unfortunately, again, I didn't hear from her and I let her know that I was very dissatisfied with her customer service. She immediately got back to me and let me know about an emergency she was having with her cat, which I understood, but again this wasn't the first time that her customer service was lacking, and unfortunately it wasn't the last. We eventually set up a time to meet in person to go over details for the day. She told us that she normally has a couple week turn around with photo editing, but because it was wedding season she said she said she would give herself a month deadline and that we would probably get them to us sooner. My husband and I were perfectly ok with the month deadline and she was surprised that we were so ok with it because she said most couples get very antsy after a couple of weeks, but we understood that June is a busy time of year for events. The wedding day was GREAT! We had Gavin Moss (N2u Photo) as our photographer and Jesse Salazar (SB Films) as our videographer. THEY WERE AMAZING AND I WOULD DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM OUTSIDE OF Preserve Studio. I was kind of expecting some teasers or ONE teaser or something from our wedding, maybe a week or two after, but I figured it was too much to expect and I didn't want to be one of those "antsy couples" and bother her about pictures before the month deadline she gave herself. Again, our wedding day was 06/17/17, on the morning of 07/17/17, I became the antsy bride that she was talking about because I hadn't heard ANYTHING from her all month. I wanted to hope for the best, and hope that I would get something that day, but I now knew to expect the worst from this business. At about noon, she texted me, letting me know that she was almost done editing the pictures and video, but that her car got broken into and her equipment, phone, and wallet got stollen and that she needed to deal with that before she finished editing and she asked if a few more days would be ok. I understand that this was a HUGE loss for her, and I am so sorry it happened, but why was she waiting until the very last day of her own deadline to finish editing my pictures and video? So I asked her if she could send over what she had already edited, just so I could see something. She said that her system does the final exporting and that it would take a few hours and she had a lot to do that day to get new equipment, DMV, fraud department...but that she would send what she could. The next afternoon I received my photos and video. We knew from the beginning that she had another wedding on the same day as ours (06/17/17). But to top it all off...I found out that she posted teasers from that wedding THE DAY AFTER THEIR WEDDING 06/18/17!!! There are also teasers from other shoots since then as well. This and everything else shows me that my wedding was NEVER a priority to her. I would never recommend or use Preserve Studio ever again. If you still choose to use Shannon, you may get lucky and maybe your event will be the one that is her priority, but your experience might be like mine, full of awful customer service, unprofessionalism, and poor time management. The only reason she is getting 2 stars instead of 1 star is because the photos and video were edited beautifully. I just wish my experience with her business matched the level of excellence of her photo editing. read more

White Party Productions (WPP), namely Shannon Rock, was responsible for beautifully capturing a number of my monumental family moments. I will start with my wedding. While there was an outside photographer and videographer, WPP was solely responsible for the editing of my wedding video. After its completion and release online, a number of my family and friends told me how beautifully and wonderfully crafted it was. A few even mentioned it brought them to tears. Not only was my wedding captured well, but also the birth of my first child. Similar to the wedding video, once I posted the photos of the birth of my son (not the actual birth, course!) a number of family members and friends flooded us with compliments on how well the photos turned out. We used Preserve Studio for our Videography and for our Floral for our wedding. From my first conversation w/ Shannon, I was hooked. She explained everything to me and I was pleasantly surprised that she offered to do my floral as well! She made sure to stay in my budget but still give me everything I wanted for my rustic wedding. The photographers at White Party Productions are awesome! We had them take pictures of our 2 month old baby and were very happy with the pictures and the caring nature of the the team.
