I never thought I'd look at an image of myself and think it was beautiful. I'm usually really uncomfortable when being photographed, but I felt so comfortable working with Shannon. She was able to help me with poses and caught the best angles. I can't stress the angles enough, she maneuvers the camera until she finds the shot and it makes all the difference. Her experience shines through in the way she manages her projects. I was able to work with Shannon on the Redefining Beauty project. She was able to come into my home, spot the best lighting, and create photogenic spaces that I wouldn't have thought would look good in photos... but somehow she made it happen and my photos came out AMAZING. I love how professional she was throughout the entire planning process. We had consultations prior and I was able to stay in contact afterwards. She even helped with planning the photo shoot concept. Honestly, she does way more than any other photographer I've ever worked with. When you hire Shannon you're not just hiring someone to take pictures, you're getting so much more. I received my edited photos quickly and on a cool online platform I can revisit anytime. The photos are beautifully edited and such a high quality. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Shannon is an amazingly talented photographer who can make magic happen in any circumstance. I'm so grateful for the images I got of me and my daughter. I look forward to working with Shannon again! read more

Shannon is truly such a rockstar photographer! We went with Shannon for our engagement & wedding photography and we are so glad that we did - one of the best decisions we made! We fell in LOVE with the romantic and moody style of her photography, and we were so incredibly happy with how our photos turned out. My husband and I aren't the most comfortable in front of a camera, but she made it so easy for us and also made us look so natural in photos :) She perfectly captured all the best moments of our day for us to look back to and we will treasure these for years to come. Shannon also helped with finalizing our wedding day schedule, gave us tips on what we can wear for our engagement shoot, single-handedly wrangled 100+ people for a massive family photo in a matter of minutes, and above all, so fun to be around all whilst being super professional! Shannon, thank you for traveling to our wedding location to capture our special day. We consider ourselves so incredibly lucky to have found the most perfect photographer for our day! read more

Preserve Studio isn't just good, they're downright AMAZING! If you're on the fence about who to trust with capturing those precious moments, let me assure you, Shannon and her team are the absolute dream team for any photography/videography needs. Our elopement photos were nothing short of STUNNING; I can't stop gushing about them even though it's been 6 months since our special day! Shannon is not only a skilled photographer but also a genuinely amazing person who actually takes the time to learn about you&yours, your vision, and thought process. She knows her craft inside and out, and what sets her apart is her ability to make her clients feel like the most comfortable, loved, and beautiful versions of themselves. As someone who tends to struggle with their appearance, I was over the moon and felt completely at ease and gorgeous the entire day. Even when my feet were killing me, Shannon ACTUALLY paid attention to my needs and even posed us in different ways to give me relief. Not every person pays attention to those things. As a bride, I am so thankful to have had someone who was "in my corner". And let's talk about the photos - they're breathtaking. Friends and family alike were blown away by Shannon's work. I absolutely cherish them and see these photos being used for years and YEARS to come. With that being said, durring the day- I am an event & wedding planner as well. I've had the pleasure of working with Preserve Studio at several events, and they are consistently one of my top picks. Professionalism? Check. Making clients feel important and celebrated? Double check. I've yet to encounter a client who had anything but raving reviews for Preserve Studio. If anything, they're left utterly speechless by the incredible photos and videos that perfectly encapsulate the essence of their special day. Trust me, you won't regret choosing Preserve Studio for any of your events. Seriously, don't think twice - book them now, and thank me later. Your memories deserve to be preserved by the best, and that's exactly what you'll get with Shannon and the team at Preserve Studio! read more

Shannon and the Preserve Studio team are the BEST! We worked with her for our engagement shoot and wedding photos and absolutely LOVE the results. We've gotten so many compliments on all of our photos and I would 100% recommend them to anyone who's looking for a photographer. When we first reached out to inquire about booking Preserve Studio for our wedding, I had a few goals in mind. 1) I wanted our photos to be unique and fun. 2) Ours was going to be a small wedding with just our immediate families, so we wanted to make sure that we captured all the special moments with them. And 3) We wanted to feel really comfortable with the vendors who would be onsite since the family vibe for the wedding was super important to us. Shannon and Preserve went so far beyond all those needs and we couldn't be happier. The biggest challenge for us was that we were based out of Los Angeles, and Shannon was based closer to our wedding Venue up north, however Shannon was so flexible and we were able to work everything out so that she could shoot our engagement in LA and the wedding up north. She made it so easy to plan! And the photos! There are so many amazing photos to help us remember the day. Every time we share them, we get so many compliments on how special and unique they are. We honestly couldn't be any happier. So far beyond 10. Would highly recommend. read more

This review is way overdue but we had waited a while due to legal proceedings that resulted in a judgment against Preserve Studio. Unfortunately, Shannon and Preserve have not yet fulfilled their judgment. Here's what happened: February 2019, we had an engagement photo session planned with Shannon in Lodi. We had left San Jose in the morning to meet her by the agreed upon time. On our drive to Lodi, Shannon text us informing us that she would not be able to take our photos due to meds she had taken. The same morning and prior to this text, however, we had confirmed on time, location, we even talked about outfits, and which colors to wear as the weather was a bit cloudy which would make the pictures turn out better, according to Shannon. The day before the shoot we also had made our second installment payment (we had engaged her for engagement photos and wedding photos). Interestingly, as soon as payment was cleared, Shannon cancelled on us, breaching terms of our contract. Shannon refuses to refund us the $3,700 we had paid her for services that were never rendered. We both engaged lawyers, but as we were coming to a settlement, she ghosted her lawyer as well as us. We took Preserve Studios to court on advice of legal counsel, and we won. However, she has not responded, has moved or changed locations, has not filed her required statement of information with the Secretary of State, and is considered a suspended business. She claimed that she did not have the funds to pay us back. However, she posted about her world travels on social media and continues to do so. We've made attempts to reach out to no avail. She is a complete fraud and not trustworthy whatsoever. She took our money and has traveled all around the country and the world while we got nothing. read more

This review is a bit past due but I wanted to take the time to make sure that I capture exactly how incredible Shannon and her team really are. Our wedding took place at the end of June 2020, which means that even though Shannon and I had sat down and planned out so many of the details - which without her I would have been totally lost - all of those plans quickly came under a mountain of uncertainty as Shelter in Place was ordered in March. Over the next several months, all of our plans were completely uprooted and it was tragic - but you know who was there the entire time telling me it was going to be ok? The ONLY person that was in my court figuring out how we could make this work with the day by day changes and having faith that this wedding would be beautiful? It was Shannon. We didn't even know whether we would be able to get married in the church until 2 weeks beforehand. I told Shannon and she was on it. We had restrictive rules that we had to follow including a limit on the number of people (15) and mask wearing for everyone - but Shannon was determined to make this day so beautiful and memorable for us - even with all the limitations. On the day of, she and her mom took care of the flowers for the wedding - they were stunning. She made me feel like everything was normal. And when we got the photos and videos back (in incredible turnaround time btw), you would have never guessed that we had to change a single thing for the wedding! They were beautiful, and I'm so thankful she captured the day that as she promised me in my darkest moments, would be the most beautiful and happiest day of my life! Thank you Shannon - you aren't just a photographer. You are a wonder worker. read more

Shannon & her team are so fun to work with and she is truly a friend! Shannon has done my wedding photos, video (wow!), and even my maternity pics. She is the best in the biz and I'm lucky to have found her and know her!!!!! 100 % satisfied with them! read more

Shannon and her photo/video team are outstanding. From 4-wheel driving up a mountain to get the perfect engagement photos to boudoir and intricate details on our wedding day. This woman and her team can do it all! She ran with every one of my ideas even when they were out there. She is an absolute blessing and an amazing person. I was honored to have her be a part of my day that I dreamed of since I was a child. I will be using her and her team for every milestone in my life. I now consider them friends and they will have a special place in my heart forever! read more

Shannon was great from the first conversation with her. From the start, we told her what we were looking for - artsy, different angles, emotion, story telling - not just the same cookie-cutter wedding photos. We wanted someone who we could trust to tell us what to do and how to pose so that our vision would be carried out. Shannon did just that! Our engagement shoot was the perfect opportunity to familiarize ourselves with Shannon and get comfortable in front of the camera. In keeping with our wedding theme, she recommended Lodi Lake which resulted in beautiful, outdoor photos. I let Shannon take control of the shoot, and even sent her pictures prior to the shoot of possible wardrobe outfits, which she provided feedback of what she thought would look best! For our wedding day, we used her experience to put together our entire wedding schedule of events. I don't know how she did it, but she got so many shots and different angles throughout the day! Her assistant, Ben, was awesome as well! Our family and friends cannot stop commenting about how perfect our pictures are! Just yesterday, my coworker said our pictures look like they should be in a wedding magazine! While we won't be having another wedding, I hope that we will have the opportunity to work with Shannon again in the future!! read more

Shannon Rock, the owner of Preserve Studio, is HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHERS IN THE VALLEY! If you check out the photos here, on her website, on Instagram, facebook...the proof is in the pudding--she has a keen eye for details and knows how to organically tell a story through artistry that cannot be taught! There are plenty of people that can take a picture, but not too many can capture the ESSENCE of the moment. Not to worry though... I can hands down assure you that Shannon can and WILL do that for you! Why? Because she is a perfectionist and is dogmatic about getting and doing it RIGHT not only for her customer, but out of respect for her craft! This isn't just a job for her-this is her passion and she loves what she does. As someone who has done 3 different photoshoots with her over the last year and is currently on the books for another within the next few months, I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I've been with the ease of doing shoots with her-crying, uncooperative toddlers and all! I don't know about you guys, but finding a photographer with the patience to let my camera shy three year old cry it out, take a breather, eat apples, color a picture and still manage to persevere is a SAINT lol :). But seriously, Shannon is patient when she needs to be but assertive when it comes to capturing the perfect lighting... producing organic, "unstaged" moments that uniquely make Preserve Studio. While I haven't booked a wedding through Shannon, I have done Christmas family photos (as shown in the gallery), a 3rd birthday party and a bridal styled shoot, which have all been nothing short of professional and fun! I have referred a ton of friends and family who are willing to make the 2 hour drive from the Bay Area to work with her and have her PRESERVE special moments in time for them as well. Is Shannon busy and hard to pin down at times? Yes! Which means she is THAT GOOD. PEOPLE WANT HER! She IS in high demand! So...If you want photos taken fast and produced in a hurry, book someone who has all the time in the world to give you a package in a few weeks with a complimentary teaser just because...there are others who can do that for you... And there is always Picture People-they will be sure to decapitate body parts and produce uncentered photos-but will give you full reign on the editing and same day service! No need for a teaser! If you don't mind waiting for a conglomerate of beauty and thoughtfulness, do yourself and your family justice and wait for Shannon...she won't disappoint! read more

I'm very picky with photos and was definitely on a hunt for someone who would be able to capture our most important day the way I have always imagined. After a long search of looking at over a hundred photographer's websites/portfolios across many platforms on the internet, I finally found Shannon. Her work is just so stunning, and the thing I noticed the most was how well she captures emotions in her photos. Her work is not just beautiful pictures -- they tell stories. And that is what I was looking for. We scheduled a phone consultation with Shannon, and we instantly felt a connection. Her super bubbly personality is just so lovely and fun, and she really makes everything as stress free as possible. Shannon is very detailed and professional in the most relaxing way. Our first photoshoot was our engagement photoshoot. Shannon sees things that other people don't. We went to a campground and took photos with a bunch of wildly shaped branches, and climbed a giant dirt mound in the middle of nowhere for the most gorgeous sunset photos. We trust her completely and will do anything she tells us to, no matter how weird it may sound, because we know the outcome would be amazing, and it truly is. Our wedding was supposed to be in September 2020, but of course with the pandemic we had to postpone. We decided to elope on our original date, but then California was on fire around the location that we had planned, so we also had to postpone that last minute, too. Shannon was so beyond understanding and she even helped us look for a new location and a new elopement date. Most of her other clients also had the same problem with postponement, and she was juggling all the rescheduling with grace and was still as calm and fun as ever. Shannon planned the timeline on our elopement day for us, and her mom did our stunning florals (check out RoseMarry & Vine for amazing florals). Shannon and her lovely assistant, Anne-Allyce, helped navigate our day flawlessly, and of course captured all the beautiful moments perfectly. Our photos turned out amazing as expected and we can't wait til we can have our big wedding next year! Hire Preserve Studio and trust Shannon to do her amazing work. You will not regret it. Shannon is worth every single penny and beyond. We would give her a gazillion stars if we could. Photos, videos, personality, customer service, work ethic, emotional support -- all perfect. read more

I wish I had the same experience as the other reviewers...for me, all that Shannon has shown me is that her studio provides disappointment after disappointment. When I got engaged, I knew that the ONE thing I wanted to splurge on for our wedding (06/17/17) was the photography and videography. I immediately got on yelp and started looking at recommendations and pictures. I fell in love with the pictures from Preserve Studios. I contacted Shannon Lea Rock and was very happy with our initial convo, a little over a year out. About 4 months out, she contacted me about needing a timeline and offered her company as a florist as well. I got back to her a little later that evening with the timeline and saying that we were interested in floral from her business as well. I waited a month and hadn't heard anything back from Shannon, so we had to confirm another florist. I emailed her to inform her of this and to ask if we could meet about our timeline and if I could pay our remaining balance. She got back to me the next day saying that my previous email was "simply buried in with the others." There was a mixup with the timeline template she had sent me, so I asked if we could talk about adjustments. She let me know that she was busy and told me that she would contact me the next week. Unfortunately, again, I didn't hear from her and I let her know that I was very dissatisfied with her customer service. She immediately got back to me and let me know about an emergency she was having with her cat, which I understood, but again this wasn't the first time that her customer service was lacking, and unfortunately it wasn't the last. We eventually set up a time to meet in person to go over details for the day. She told us that she normally has a couple week turn around with photo editing, but because it was wedding season she said she said she would give herself a month deadline and that we would probably get them to us sooner. My husband and I were perfectly ok with the month deadline and she was surprised that we were so ok with it because she said most couples get very antsy after a couple of weeks, but we understood that June is a busy time of year for events. The wedding day was GREAT! We had Gavin Moss (N2u Photo) as our photographer and Jesse Salazar (SB Films) as our videographer. THEY WERE AMAZING AND I WOULD DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM OUTSIDE OF Preserve Studio. I was kind of expecting some teasers or ONE teaser or something from our wedding, maybe a week or two after, but I figured it was too much to expect and I didn't want to be one of those "antsy couples" and bother her about pictures before the month deadline she gave herself. Again, our wedding day was 06/17/17, on the morning of 07/17/17, I became the antsy bride that she was talking about because I hadn't heard ANYTHING from her all month. I wanted to hope for the best, and hope that I would get something that day, but I now knew to expect the worst from this business. At about noon, she texted me, letting me know that she was almost done editing the pictures and video, but that her car got broken into and her equipment, phone, and wallet got stollen and that she needed to deal with that before she finished editing and she asked if a few more days would be ok. I understand that this was a HUGE loss for her, and I am so sorry it happened, but why was she waiting until the very last day of her own deadline to finish editing my pictures and video? So I asked her if she could send over what she had already edited, just so I could see something. She said that her system does the final exporting and that it would take a few hours and she had a lot to do that day to get new equipment, DMV, fraud department...but that she would send what she could. The next afternoon I received my photos and video. We knew from the beginning that she had another wedding on the same day as ours (06/17/17). But to top it all off...I found out that she posted teasers from that wedding THE DAY AFTER THEIR WEDDING 06/18/17!!! There are also teasers from other shoots since then as well. This and everything else shows me that my wedding was NEVER a priority to her. I would never recommend or use Preserve Studio ever again. If you still choose to use Shannon, you may get lucky and maybe your event will be the one that is her priority, but your experience might be like mine, full of awful customer service, unprofessionalism, and poor time management. The only reason she is getting 2 stars instead of 1 star is because the photos and video were edited beautifully. I just wish my experience with her business matched the level of excellence of her photo editing. read more

Shannon is cool. She does a very great job and her work is stellar. I'm a pro videographer which makes me more picky when I hire others and I would definitely recommend her for any video needs. I don't know what that other girl is talking about but sadly not everyone is going to be satisfied because they expect amazon customer service from a boutique company with unique talent and artistic services that you can't get anywhere else. Working with Shannon you'll know she is passionate in what she does and that's enough for me to know I can trust her to make awesome things happen! read more

3:29 PM Shannon and her team were absolutely exceptional to work with. My husband and I were thrilled after our engagement shoot and wedding. I would definitely recommend her for any photo sessions as well as videography. Our wedding video is probably my favorite , it truly brought me so much happiness to see what an amazing job she had done. Thank you again Shannon! read more

Preserve Studio - Videographers Near Me

We hired Shannon and Preserve studio for videography for our wedding at the Brentwood Golf Club a few weeks ago. I have to say that from the get-go Shannon was an absolute pleasure to work with. I really appreciated Shannon's knowledge, advice, and experience especially as a new bride who didn't know much about her impending wedding haha! While searching for videographers, we looked for friendliness, price, availability, etc. Out of all the bids we got, Shannon was the most competitive in every sense. We are super happy that we went with Preserve. The day of was completely organized, Shannon was on top of everything! Her team were all equally lovely. We received our finished cinematic short 3 weeks after the wedding and it was perfect. Shannon's editing was wonderful, the finished product looks well put together, polished, and classy. She was able to capture the essence of the day and the joy we all felt- which is not an easy feat! I plan to work with Shannon in the future for more events! I recommend her and her team wholeheartedly. Thanks Shannon! :) read more

White Party Productions (WPP), namely Shannon Rock, was responsible for beautifully capturing a number of my monumental family moments. I will start with my wedding. While there was an outside photographer and videographer, WPP was solely responsible for the editing of my wedding video. After its completion and release online, a number of my family and friends told me how beautifully and wonderfully crafted it was. A few even mentioned it brought them to tears. Not only was my wedding captured well, but also the birth of my first child. Similar to the wedding video, once I posted the photos of the birth of my son (not the actual birth, course!) a number of family members and friends flooded us with compliments on how well the photos turned out. I also received a number of compliments for the birth announcements, also done by WPP. Lastly, I'll mention my philanthropic efforts. Last Sunday, June 8, 2014, I took a group of people from my church in Stockton to partner with City Impact Church (CIC) and Adopt a Building (AAB). CIC and AAB focus their efforts on the homeless and needy in San Francisco's Tenderloin District. I asked WPP to accompany our group in an effort to capture the day of service - what a blessing! WPP captured our service, as well as made it clear (verbally and in writing) that the service and love our group helped to provide the homeless and needy deeply impacted them. In essence, you will be satisfied with both the quality of results and people you'll work with that produce the results. Enjoy. read more

I am co-owner of Magical Moments Event Planning & Coordinating in Manteca, Ca.. We had the extreme pleasure of working as the Day of Coordinators, along side Shannon Rock and her team, at a beautiful wedding this past Saturday in Waterford, Ca. Shannon's team handled the videography, as well as the floral for our client. The floral theme was beautiful and tied in with our clients rustic theme perfectly. Her video team did not miss a beat with all of the important moments, but also managed to work cohesively along side myself, as well as the still photographer. Shannon was constantly offering her assistance with anything that needed to be done. She is very professional, friendly and worked with me to think ahead at all times, to make sure our clients day was flawless! I most definitely recommend Shannon Rock / Preserve Studio and look forward to working with her again in the future! read more

Upon getting engaged, my wife and I sat down and really decided what aspects were most important to us regarding our special day. My wife being a photographer, she cared most about how our memories were captured. Preserve Studio was our first choice, and after the initial conversation our decision was only solidified even more. We hired Preserve to shoot our wedding here in Stockton, as well as adventure out to Iceland with us for a more personal wedding shoot + video. There are so many photographers out there, but very few have the know-how and confidence in what they do the way that Shannon does, this absolutely translates in the consistency of quality in her work. Her communication is ultra clear and how much she loves love makes the process so fun. She is incredibly comfortable to be around, and isn't afraid to do whatever she may need to, to get "the shot"- which makes for some seriously epic photos. Preserve Studio built a relationship with us, treated us like family, and gave us memories that we can pass down for generations. We are forever grateful and highly recommend them to everyone! -Aly & Will read more

We used Preserve Studio for our Videography and for our Floral for our wedding. From my first conversation w/ Shannon, I was hooked. She explained everything to me and I was pleasantly surprised that she offered to do my floral as well! She made sure to stay in my budget but still give me everything I wanted for my rustic wedding. Every question I had, she answered and was always available for me. The day of the wedding was absolutely amazing. The floral arrangements were beautiful and above and beyond what I expected. Shannon was so accommodating the day of and captured all the perfect moments. Her team was super friendly and accommodating as well. We just got our video back and it is more than we could of asked for. We absolutely loved it! She also made us an extra video of me and my bridesmaids basically doing a rap video lol. We loved working with preserve studio on our wedding day! Shannon and her team are seriously amazing, capturing shots before the wedding, during the wedding and to be honest the entire day! We have gotten so many compliments on our highlight video! We love watching it and reliving the day over again. She was even able to capture a few still shots from the day , and they are absolutely stunning as well! Preserve did a fantastic job with a venue that is notorious for being "difficult" to shoot in, but all they captured was beautiful and showed the emotion. My mother in law seriously shows it to everyone she meets and sees. I truly appreciate that they captured the whole wedding, so that we can buy single chapters down the road. For our 1 year anniversary I plan to surprise my husband with the chapters of our vows and first dance! Its awesome Shannon gets and keeps as much as she can. Not many others take care of you that way. Its really nice, especially since last minute budget changes can happen. I seriously cant wait to work with Shannon again in the future. This team is magical. We met with Shannon to talk about our wedding and right away she made us feel so comfortable about her vision that we booked her right away. She was so amazing in how she cared for us and our special day that I booked a separate shoot before the wedding (spoil alert that shoot was insanely awesome as well). Her vision is simply amazing. Her team arrived for our wedding and became apart of our family. There are no words for how seamless they work together. The cohesiveness is astonishing and they truly made our day one to remember. When people comment on how amazing the photographer/Videography were before they even see the finished product- it means something. And the final product was a magical dream come true. I am looking for reasons to work with Preserve Studio again simply due to the star treatment we experienced. Side note they also have a company that does breathtaking floral arrangements. I have never been a big fan of flowers, especially the "wedding flower" but Shannon and her RoserMarry & Vine team changed that forever. I am forever grateful.
