I had previously seen Jake's work so I knew the quality of the McAnally's work: clear and crisp photos. I remember driving in the golf cart to different photoshoot spots on the wedding day with my wife, the McAnally's, and our video crew and being so thankful for the team around us. Pro Tip: Write down/email ahead of time shots you'd like for family photos, ceremony, etc. so you know what to prioritize and know what you can hand over for creative reign/room. For example it rained on our day so we got some mismatching umbrellas, with "it's raining" faces in our audience. We hired Jake and Tab (McAnally Moments) to shoot our wedding in Lake Tahoe on 8/6, and quite frankly they were the best vendor hire we made for that day. Let me tell you why: 1. Together they are a dynamic duo. They both have a special eye on what makes a shot great: Tab is great at ensuring small and easily overlooked details are just right (like my hair not laying right, or the guy's jackets bunching up in odd spots), and Jake is great at posing the shot in the most balanced and beautiful way. They are dedicated and uncompromising in their vision. "Good enough" isn't in their vocabulary or work ethic. 2. They are professionals in knowing how to execute a busy, schedule-packed day. Weddings are stressful enough, knowing it's one thing after another. While myself and the bridesmaids were running behind in Hair/Makeup, Tab and Jake were on top of it, being flexible to adjust their timing on where they were supposed to be (with us vs the groomsmen). Additionally, Tab kept reassuring me that we would still get all the shots we wanted/needed, and she was RIGHT. They timed and adjusted everything perfectly so we could still have an off-site First Look & wedding party photoshoot BEFORE the ceremony, despite our time crunch. Just WOW. 3. Some comments on here have recounted stories that, based on my experience, seem to be over-dramatized. I found Tab and Jake to both be very receptive to shot requests and ideas, from all parties!! They have a gung-ho enthusiasm and directness that I found reassuring on such a stressful day. They took command of their (major) responsibilities for the day and ensured that everything would be perfect for us. One story I'll recount that I was particularly thankful for: My fiance has a large extended family, and we wanted to avoid getting stuck in a loop of pictures after the ceremony. Jake and Tab had our preferred shot list, and helped us stick to it. When the extended family began creeping in to ask for photos, Jake and Tab politely but professionally handled the situation for us. It's awkward to tell our own family 'no', but they handled it for us. Whew! 4. They are so incredibly hard working. They were literally somehow in 100 places at once, getting all the photos and video that we wanted. While I know they were everywhere at once, they also did not interfere with the wedding day or the guests. They made sure that the day was about us. TLDR: Jake and Tab take amazing and creative photos. They are professionals who take ownership of their responsibilities day of, and I trusted them wholeheartedly to guide us through the day. I went to a wedding in which Jake and Tabitha were hired for the photography and videography. Immediately upon their arrival, Tabitha was bossy, aggressive, unfriendly, and inflexible. In fact, these traits were noted throughout the entire evening. Tabitha is just an unpleasant lady and unfortunately the one you will probably have to deal with in negotiating the contract and after the wedding. For example, the bride, her mother, and grandmother were all sitting in chairs getting make-up done by the brides (3) cousins. We asked for a photo representing the 3 generations- all 3 women looking over their shoulder at the camera. Tabitha glared and refused. An opportunity missed. Post wedding- she is refusing to provide the father and daughter dance raw footage unless the bride pays $300 more!! Tabitha is a nightmare and I would seriously think twice before hiring her. Jake, her husband, on the other hand, is a true professional. He is agreeable and easy to work with. He is a talented photographer with a keen eye and artistic ability. If you have a choice, only work with Jake- from the beginning to the end including the contract negotiations, or else, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. read more

We had such a wonderful experience with Jake and Tabatha!!! They were so kind, patient and so much fun to work with for our Engagement session and our wedding day! My daughter's wedding was scheduled for May 2. Well we all know what happened. We rescheduled for August 22nd. They were unavailable, suggested that we change our date to either a Friday or a Sunday. Which I thought was very rude. My daughter had signed the contract with this company, however my credit card paid the bill. When I ask for a refund or partial refund of our deposit they told me it was non-refundable. That "WE" cancelled. Told me to never contact them again, because the contract was not with me it was with my daughter. Again very rude. They are out no expenses, they could not have done another event. So I feel they took advantage of us and the Covid 19. All our venders that could not reschedule refunded our deposits. I wish I would have read some of the reviews about her being very rude. Jake and Tabitha a great married couple and team! I was on the fence about hiring a videographer for our wedding day. Then I read about the number 1 regret most brides had-not hiring a videographer! They wished that they hired one because grandma was no longer here etc. I didn't want to be that bride with a regret that could be fixed so easily. Jake and Tabitha were referred to me by our photographer and I can honestly say I have no regrets! They are so reasonably priced and have so much to offer. They are a super chill, calm couple, which is really needed the day of your wedding. They also helped with poses and made sure the little things were in the right places (like bow ties, no crooked bow ties in my pics, and my hair no strands sticking out)! They laugh together and work so well together, they really are the ultimate duo! During the ceremony I forgot they were there. But when I watched the video it was so clear, they were so there and they captured the best moments; some I was a part of and some I didn't know even happened. The video they created of our day is something I will cherish for a lifetime. I would recommend Jake & Tabitha because they are troopers, they go above and beyond the call of duty and are so reasonably priced its amazing! Wanted to share all our thanks with these two for being so awesome on our wedding day! Tabatha and Jake were recommended to us and we are so glad they were available for our big day! Their use of lighting and mix of candid and more glamorous shots is amazing plus their attention to detail such as the way my train fell, that my necklace was crooked or the way the sun gleamed off my face was so appreciated since these are things that would have bugged me also lol.
