I got married last week, where Elite (Greg specifically) DJ-ed and MC-ed for us and I have to say it was a major highlight of the entire wedding experience. Elite's online portal made it extremely easy to not only list all of our song requests, but timing the entire day from the pre-ceremony to the last dance with their online itinerary guide. I should also note that my wedding was an Iranian wedding where there were several uncommon song choices. My ceremony music selections were also rather unique, and I was a little concerned that it might be difficult to accommodate but the entire day was seamless. We even got several compliments on the music almost immediately after the open dancing started! Greg was extremely kind, and a great and friendly presence to have for the day. I just recently was raving about Elite DJ to a friend who is getting married soon and is looking for a DJ. I pointed her to my Yelp review but apparently I never wrote one. How is that possible? I know for sure I at least wrote one on WeddingWire.com. So here goes... I got married back in 2011, 9-10-11 to be exact. I had Elite DJ in mind after they were used at another friends wedding. I knew I really wanted them as my DJ because she had nothing but positive things to say about them. I wasn't sure if they would travel all the way up to my venue in Meadow Vista (just past Auburn) but they did and at no extra charge! I really appreciate the easy communication via email. I probably emailed them a hundred times and they were always quick and pleasant in their responses. Also their website made it so easy to plan my big day, everything was done online and I could edit it as I went. I was living in Rancho Cordova at the time so all this made it super convenient. I could plan the schedule, the music, and even tell them which songs to play no matter if someone requested it or not. I had quite a few of those haha. It was my day and I could ban the macarena and chicken dance if I wanted! Anyways, the day of they arrived early and set everything up with no problems, or at least I wasn't informed of any problems. Everything went very smoothly during the ceremony and the reception. They did exactly what I had asked them to do. But... not only did they do exactly what I had expected them to do they went ABOVE AND BEYOND! I was so impressed with the way the dj (I think his name was Greg but its been a few years and I can't be 100% sure) went out of his way to check in on me. He kept making sure I was enjoying myself, he even brought me something to drink when he saw my beer or glass was empty. At one point I was feeling overwhelmed because everyone one was pulling me this and that way and I wasn't able to enjoy myself, he could tell I was not enjoying myself and pulled me aside and asked what I needed. When I told him I just wanted to be left alone and dance with my new husband he told everyone to leave me alone and played a song for just us to dance to. I know for a fact if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have enjoyed my reception as much as I did. I can't recommend them enough! 10+ stars in my book! read more

They were good for the most part, but there was one major issue we had with our DJ. He did not play most of the songs that we had requested, I even gave them a folder of ALL the mp3's, and told them the specific genres we wanted, and it's like the DJ hardly look at it. We wanted a mix of EDM and some pop and he was playing salsa music at some point. There was clearly some miscommunication with their coordinator and the DJ, and I would honestly say this could've been avoided if they actually let us talk to the DJ about our songs, not to the coordinator who passed off the info. read more

I hired Elite Entertainment for my wedding at The River Mill in French Camp, and I am so glad that I did. Greg and Ryan were our DJs and they could not have done more to make everything go smoothly for our guests, my husband, and me. We chose the music that we wanted for specific parts of our ceremony and also gave a list of songs we wanted played at some point during the reception (a process made easy by the online form that Elite provided). Greg and Ryan stayed completely true to our ceremony requests and supplemented our reception song list perfectly to suit the mood of the reception. On top of the fact that the music and sound quality were spot on, Greg kept everything moving and made sure my husband and I were informed and ready for everything as it came. He gave us his full attention and really anticipated our needs (for example at one point he saw me fanning myself, 20 lb dresses make you all kinds of hot, and immediately had the AC turned on), but still managed to keep our moods light despite the inherent bride and groom stress. One of my favorite parts of the night was before our grand introduction at the beginning of the reception. Greg was giving us instructions on when/where/how to go, and I think he could see that I was a little frazzled and anxious about walking out. Very sincerely he said, "one last thing, how do you pronounce your last name?" I automatically replied with my maiden name, Greenfield. He grinned a little and repeated "and HOW do you pronounce your last name?" I busted up laughing and gave my brand new married name, Smith. They really helped us to hone the music needed for the ceremony and reception, and their online form for picking the songs and types of songs was very easy to use. The DJ was extremely professional. He was spot on for every critical timing of our ceremony songs. He kept the whole event moving while still giving enough time for everyone to enjoy themselves so it didn't feel rushed. We had given some pretty loose suggestions on types of music to be played during different parts of the reception, and he nailed it. The photo booth was a smashing success. The photo printouts were high quality, and the attendant created a book with copies of everyone's photos for us that we enjoying looking through the next day. I waited a long time after my wedding to write this review because I wanted my review to state just the facts and not come from a place of Wedding emotions. I first met with Elite in 2008, I got good vibes from them I was planning on booking however that event fell through. So in 2012 when I got engaged I knew that I wanted them to be my DJ. everything seemed fine at first. I had a vision for my reception to be a of the flooded pink. I showed Krista pictures of what I wanted and she was positive that they could do it. I booked a DJ, monogram light and 40 cans of uplighting (which Krista was sure that I wouldn't need that many.) Everything was fine until I won a free monogram at a bridal show. I said how I was excited to be saving that $250, Krista said that she wasn't going to just give me $250 off my bill! REALLY cause on my contract the monogram cost $250! She did eventually take the $250 off. When I order the monogram the proof came back horrible! Krista became rude in emails! I ended up ordering a glass monogram disk for an additional cost (which on the wedding was very clear.) I wasn't convinced that the 40 cans uplighting was really going to be enough and that the color pink was going to show up on the reception room's brown walls. So I asked for them to bring the uplights to the reception. The color was prefect however there was no possible way that 40 cans were going to give off the look I had dreamed of. Now weeks before my wedding I'm in a search for a new lighting company! Thankfully after many rude phone calls and emails between Elite and I (I also have a very good friend that works in the wedding industry helping me,) I did get a refund for the uplighting. I hired another DJ company to do my uplighting which came out amazing! Not only did I need the 40 lights that was told was going to be too many but I ended up having 61 LED bars! The new dJ also informed me that 40 cans would have made the room too hot for anyone to be in it, and LED bricks and bars were exactly what I needed! The next issue became the placement of the monogram. I wanted the monogram on the wall behind my husband and I however there where large light fixtures that I was concerned they cut off half of the image. Krista and Greg both said that wouldn't be a problem. At the wedding however I was right half of the monogram was missing so the location of the monogram had to be moved to the dance floor. When you book Elite they give you a online planner for your reception. I really thought that everything was going to be followed and that the problems up until this point where in the past, I was so wrong! -Krista wanted to charge me for extra setup time and lied about the doors used for setup. Which was pointless even the reception coordinator agreed. -The DJ STOOD ON THE TRAIN OF MY WEDDING DRESS! (Which is on video in front of all my guests!) -The DJ didn't have a clue as to was supposed to be happening next. And told my guest they couldn't request songs. I used Elite Entertainment for my wedding in July of 2016. I cannot say enough good things about them. When we were first looking for DJs we found Elite, and Krista was more than happy to facetime with my fiance and I so we could meet her face to face since we didnt live locally. She was very nice and we hired her company the next day. The process leading up to the wedding was very organized and easy. Which is good when you are a stressed out bride. :) I felt some of our songs we requested for the bouquet toss, wedding party entrance and garter toss were quirky but Krista found all of them and had them downloaded and ready to go. We had Greg for our wedding DJ and he was seriously a-mazing. He was so kind and he made sure he pronounced everyone's names correctly. We did a surprise song remix first dance and one of the parts I pretended like the DJ was playing the wrong song and Greg totally played along with our bit. It was great! He also played all the songs we had listed on our request list. Last minute I told him I wanted to cut the father and daughter song down just a little (it was a really long song) and if he could fade the music out at a certain time and he did it with no hesitation or problem at all. He made sure to remind me to go take photos in the photo-booth which I am so grateful for because I was so busy I barely took any photos in there and I may not have if he didn't keep reminding me to do so, and I would have really regretted it. Just meeting Greg the day of the wedding, he immediately felt like a friend and I was more than pleased and impressed with his services. His photo-booth assistant was super awesome and nice too! The DJ then switched to a completely different song that my wife did not choose. AWKWARD! Then on the photo booth, over half of the images had the names misspelled on the top. So the top, of a bunch of my guest's pictures, have our names misspelled. We paid almost 30k for our wedding and were not excited when they failed on both of their responsibilities at our event. I do not know if this is a routine issue... but the fear of it happening to other people makes me truly not advise you to use this company. read more

We knew how great of a job they did as a guest at a wedding, but cannot express how fantastic Greg and his crew was as the hosts. Not only have I worked with Elite Entertainment and their many DJs for years as an employee of an event venue, but I also hired Elite to DJ my own wedding reception a few months ago. Every single staff member is a pleasure to work with, and their extremely detailed online worksheet made me confident that my DJ would know exactly what to play (and, more importantly, what NOT to play) at the correct times. For example, my husband cannot stand Aerosmith, and all of his friends know it. I made a note on our playlist worksheet to please not play an Aerosmith. This may be a rumor, but apparently my husband's friend repeatedly requested Aerosmith songs and was repeatedly declined, because I specifically asked the DJ not to play any.
