I have been so happy taking our little one to Dr. Boehlman at TVP!…read more I was at Banner for my little ones first few appointments and the experience here has been night and day. Much better bedside manner, much better aesthetic and vibe, and all the staff seem to actually enjoy babies and children. We love the little touches like growth stickers, stickers given post vaccines, just right temperatures for stripping down babies for measuring etc., children's art, and tiny play area with books and toys. We've received quick responses from nurses when using the message portal, and call backs when we've had more urgent questions. Scheduling has never been a problem, I don't have to schedule out our whole year in advance, they've got great scheduling management. I appreciate how they prioritize science and research when making recommendations for our kiddos. They are not shy about their pro-vaccine stance, which is so nice these days! Highly recommend Dr. Boehlman and Tanque Verde Pediatrics.

Disappointing New Patient Scheduling Policy for Working Families…read more We recently relocated to Tucson and were looking forward to establishing pediatric care for our two young children. Tanque Verde Pediatrics came recommended, but unfortunately, their new patient scheduling policy made it impractical for our family to choose their practice. We were informed that they will not schedule two siblings for new patient appointments on the same day, even if the appointments are at completely different times. Interestingly, we were told that once our children become established patients, scheduling both on the same day would be permitted. As two full-time working parents, this policy is incredibly disappointing. We are not asking for special treatment, back-to-back appointments, or even appointments with the same provider. We are simply asking for the ability to schedule both children on the same day so we can minimize time away from work. It is difficult to understand why a family seeking to establish care would be subject to scheduling restrictions that apparently do not apply to established patients. Pediatric practices serve families, and accommodating the realities of working parents should be part of that consideration. Requiring two separate days away from work just to establish care creates an unnecessary barrier for families like ours. Unfortunately, despite the recommendation we received, this policy alone was enough for us to look elsewhere. I hope the practice reconsiders this restriction, particularly for families with multiple children who are simply trying to establish care in their new community.

My kiddos have been coming to Catalina Pediatrics for almost 18 years now, and it's hard to imagine…read morea better pediatric group than this. Janel Lloyd has been my kiddo's doc from the get go, but we have occasionally seen other physicians for urgent appointments (like ear infections or prolonged sore throats and such) when Dr. Lloyd is off. It's nice to have a practice that provides such seamless cross-coverage, ensuring you can always get your kiddo in to be seen. My kids adore Dr. Lloyd, and she is good at remembering them and little details about them (like what instruments they play, or their favorite sports) which makes them (and me) feel cared about. They give you a print out during each well child visit that lists your kiddo's stats (like height, weight, and head circumference) as well as what milestones they should be hitting at their age - which is a nice way for parents to follow their child's progress. FYI - They do charge for immunization records if you request them outside of a scheduled doctor's appointment, so if you think you may need them for daycare or school purposes, just ask for a printout during your appointment and they'll do it free of charge. The waiting area is clean and pleasant. They have it separated into two sections, one for well kids and others who are sick. It's a nice touch for parents with littles (especially those newborns) who are trying to keep their exposures to illness at a minimum. There are toys and a big fish tank in the lobby to help keep kids occupied while they wait, though we've never had to wait long to be seen. The exam rooms are stocked with toys and books as well, and each one is decorated in a different theme (our favorite is the dragon room and includes original artwork painted by one of the nurses). The nursing staff has always been great, as is the front desk staff. The triage nurse is wonderful about calling you back when you have a concern, and if it's something the nurse feels should be addressed by a physician, they are good about getting back to you as well. I know firsthand how confusing and anxiety provoking it can be to try and choose a pediatrician for your child. I recommend Catalina Pediatrics without reservation.

Horrible care, didn't notify us when our son doctor left, when I called to make an emergency…read moreappointment because my so super sick they informed me our doctor was no longer there. Then refused treatment for my son because there was an outstanding bill. When I explained that not possible we have state insurance. They wanted to forward me to a 3rd party. I explained we go to the hospital and to please gather medical records, said they couldn't provided until the 3rd party they sent my sons bill to was paid. I called them back after talking to.my sons state insurance and they told me to have them bill the insurance. They refused to try to re bill insurance and insisted I must pay cash or pay the 3rd party they sold the debt to. In all this they didn't even address my son immediate need to breath.

We have been taking our grandchildren to Casas Adobes Pediatrics, specifically Dr. Bianchi, since…read morethey came to live with us. Our situation initially was slightly different than most as we were not the parents but the legal guardians of these children. The office staff was very sensitive to the situation and helped us work thru the paperwork necessary to have the children seen by Dr. Bianchi. It had been years since we were in a pediatricians office. They have a well area and a separate sick area for patients. Our grandchildren, the youngest, has been to the office much more than our grandson due to her need to catch up on vaccinations. She knows now when we pull up in the car to the office, exactly where we are. Even though she has received numerous shots, she isn't afraid at all, just anxious to go in and play in the well area. The patient rooms are decorated appropriately so it is easy to distract the kids by pointing out the creatures on the walls. Dr. Bianchi and his nurse are very friendly and take whatever time is needed during our visits to answer any questions we may have. They also interact with the kids trying to ensure they are comfortable with what is going on. We have been impressed with Dr. Bianchi's insight into our unique situation with being grandparents raising our grandchildren and his keen insight into our specific grandchildren's needs due to their past situation. Instead of giving out lollipops after the visit, they let the kids pick out stickers. The kids like this and so do we. We feel fortunate to have found the perfect pediatrician for our grandchildren. We would recommend anyone needing a pediatrician, try this office and Dr. Bianchi, you will be glad you did.
