Dr. Lisa Sathre is amazing! She is so thorough and great at explaining diagnoses/lab results/concerns in layman terms so it's easy to understand. My son has a chronic disease that I feel because Dr. Sathre was so quick and thorough that we caught it before it ever got more out of control than it already was. She's amazing! read more

Has gone downhill! After being with them for 14 years and 5 kids they turned me away. I checked if they accepted my new insurance and it shows they do on my list of providers, then I call to make sure and up date them with the new insurance and was told they did accept it by the resptionist. Next day I get a call that says they do contract with my insurance but because of third party billing they can't accept it. They were so cold about it no other options were given and they just didn't care...just we can't take it! 14 years and I just get "we dont take it sorry". It saddens me that the billing is more important than thier patients. I also went in to get immunization records updated for my new pediatrician when I over heard the receptionist having the same conversation with a person on the phone that she had with me, options about self pay were given. Then she told the other receptionist about the conversation then says I had a mom yesterday get upset about the same thing. The other receptionist said "they really need to check first" I bit my tounge as I was the upset mom from the day before. I did check twice before I was turned away with no other options. If your looking for a warm friendly staff and people that actually like their patients...KEEP LOOKING! read more

BEWARE Tricare doesn't work well with this clinic. I was going to leave a 1 star review but I'll leave it at 2 stars because I do think the clinic staff are very nice people. HOWEVER, after my sons dog bite incident we were referred to come check this clinic out for follow-ups because they had great reviews. My son was traumatized from the ER department and truthfully was not the easiest to examine. All 3 follow-up visits we had with this clinic we were referred to go to the ER department. Not because it was an emergency but because the doctor was not comfortable enough to properly examine my son. Which is fine, I'd rather be safe than sorry but what I don't appreciate is being charged for a visit when the doctor barely examined my child and was just being referred to go somewhere else (just to pay more fees). So because this doctor was not comfortable examining my son (because he wasn't cooperating cause he was scared and I had to hold him) we had to pay to be told to go somewhere else and then pay that place as well. Doesn't seem fair to me and feels like they just care about the money rather than my son. After the 3rd visit of the doctor not really doing anything (she was able to get one stitch out) we went back to our original pediatric office and that has worked out way better. I wish we never switched pediatric offices. Would have saved us time and money. read more

Only saw Dr.Kopas once in all the 4 yrs of going her with both kids. One RN made a false alarming notice of our sons belly button and stated he might have an ulcer so for a whole month I was and so was my husband and mom and all our relatives on the alert for any signs of an ulcer. This RN even referred us to a specialist for ex rays for his ulcer( we passed on that) and when the next month came and our sons well being was next, I asked that same nurse and her response was," oh wow I don't even remember telling you about the bellybutton concern! No he looks fine I must have mistaken him for the previous patient!" No Apology no sympathy for our stress! A while laterthe same RN my husband had to take our son to see and didn't realize that it was this same RN (bellybutton ulcer lady) well she assumed she heard a heart murmur on our son and now insisted another specialist (making it very hard to tell if she is just trying to do her job and score points or if this is a real concern) so we got a random unexpected phone call she had set us up without even asking for permission and we passed this!! Now our son his emergency fillings and I am so happy We decided to find a different pediatrician practice! 4 1/2 yrs here and NOT Happy and felt stuck! Dr. Kopas has again only seen us once! And we consistently got passed around to different RNS and only one we did feel comfortable with. So please be alert you might only meet Dr.Kopas once and he might also suggest your 1 yr old who walks might need to wear a head brace in case they run into stuff LOL awe passed on that and it was good it wasn't needed and just a bunch of miss leading worries and precautions. To be fair we have only visited twice but on both occasions our wait in the waiting room was very short and the doctor came into the room almost immediately when we were shown back to the room. There is some evidence of Christianity around the office but I would disagree that it is thrown up in your face. Dr. Sathre and the staff never once mentioned anything about religion and in my experience (living many places) I have always been asked about the home life including the father of my children and whether we were married. I think this is normal. This is a private practice so I don't see a problem. Not sure I would take the advice of a reviewer who uses this as a guideline for their doctor. read more

All of the doctors here have got to be the best in Tucson. We have been with Dr. Kopas for twelve years and he is simply the best.

Dr. Kopas is fantastic and has been the boys' primary care physician for several years. Dr. Kopas squeezed us in for a last minute appointment as our little one is not feeling well. Besides being competent (I am the son of a family practice doctor, so I know he asks the right questions and does a thorough examination), Dr Kopas is caring and attentive. As the boys' father, I am grateful for his diligence and Christian faith. Raising a family nowadays is (or at least seems) more difficult then when I was the child; furthermore, my wife and I are very grateful to have yet another person in the boys' lives that share faith. Many people comment on the Bible and Christian pamphlets being (somewhat) discreetly placed, while my family is fairly private in our faith (and to which I feel several reviewers have concern over skyline's placement of these pamphlets and encouragement in Christianity), my family's viewpoint is as follows: We deeply appreciate Dr Kopas' integration of medicine and faith... as a man of science myself, most scientists and Doctors feel that science and faith are mutually exclusive and at times, ridicule others whom attempt to reconcile these two spheres; however, my family is refreshed that Dr Kopas cares as much for our family's physical well being as our spiritual well being... Thank you to Dr Kopas for having the courage to ask the important questions of faith and science and to truly know that neither is mutually exclusive but rather mutually reinforcing.... and again, thank you for caring as much about my family's physical well being as our spiritual well being.... To all those reading this review, Dr Kopas is a kind, caring, and scientifically based doctor. Appreciate his concern about your family's well being OR ignore it and simply utilize him for the good doctor he is... So thankful my baby girl has a dr's office that loves her and takes such good care of her. The staff are so kind and the drs and nurses are thorough and truly care about the kids. They have same day sick appointments and do their best to get your child in as soon as possible, which is so important when you've got a sick kiddo! I am very grateful for this office! read more

They care about their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. They do not push religion but if asked they will take the time to pray with/for you. I switched my boys over to Skyline Pediatrics a few years ago and haven't been more satisfied or happier since. Both of my boys are on the Spectrum, one has severe behaviors. Going to the doctors is usually a stressful and disastrous encounter that we try to avoid at all costs. However, that has never been the case with our visits to Skyline Pediatrics. Our previous pediatrician was oblivious to our struggles and we had to fight tooth & nail for referrals and help with Speech, OT and other services. We were told that it was just a phase, that our boys would "catch up" or "outgrow" their differences. The doctor was completely in denial. Fast forward to our very 1st visit with Skyline Pediatrics and Dr. Sathre asked if our boys had a Autism dx. It was such a relief to know that our struggles were valid and real. She recognized the signs right away. She has been so incredibly supportive, informative, patient and kind. Actually, I can say the same about Dr. Kopas and Sammie. We've never felt judged or ignored or rushed off. Sammie is just the absolute best. Our boys love Kopas and we know we're always in great hands with Sathre. Lastly, let me just add that in the past 3yrs of taking our boys here... we've never once felt judged, pressured or pushed to discuss religion in any way. Sure, there are pamphlets and subtle signs of religion but it's not in the least bit unwelcoming regardless of your personal beliefs/faith. read more

Dr Kopas is rude and extremely unprofessional. He speaks without checking facts. He also added stuff to my sons medical records that he did not share with me. Inaccurate information. The office staff acts as if they are better than all the patients. The only good thing in that office is Dr Lisa Sathre. Although I tried to discuss this issue with her and was told by Dr Kopas that he was her boss and he would not allow me to see it speak to her. I had almost the exact experience that Lindsay P. did. I would also like to add that the front desk staff is also extremely rude. I was left in the waiting room, ignored for 20 minutes one day. Another day my daughter was asking very politely for a sticker on her way out and was completely ignored by the rude staff. Every time i go in they are too busy on their cell phones or talking socially to one another to acknowledge my family and I. The last straw was when Dr. Kopas sent us for several extremely expensive medical tests on my daughter that we later found out, by a specialist, were completely unnecessary. Nice building and staff but I do not understand why there are bibles laying around and brochures about Jesus in every room. Their questionnaire asks if you're married and what religion you are which is none of anyone's business. In fact, those questions have nothing to do with medicine, or even remotely factor in to how you would treat a patient. Never seen a clinic before where religion was thrown in your face like this one. If you can put the Bible in there, you should have other holy books too, including the Quran, Torah, Book of Mormon, unless you're aiming your clinic to only appease Christians which is a violation of any medical practice. read more

We LOVE Skyline Pediatrics and could not be more thankful for the great care our children receive here! From the first day we took my oldest here we have been treated with kindness and respect. Dr. Kopas is wonderful and will go above and beyond for you and your child. While out of town, my son had a nasty cough and we had forgotten our nebulizer. We called Dr. Kopas on a Saturday and he did not hesitate to help us out by calling in a prescription at the Walgreens we were closest too. We have also had great experiences with Samantha Newcom their FNP. They are always able to fit us in when one of my boys is sick. So thankful for Skyline Pediatrics! read more

We have taken our four children to Dr. Kopas and Dr. Sathre since 2011. I can not say enough about their wonderful support over the years. I have asked them many questions from issues regarding a common cold, to the ups and downs of puberty. They have always been patient and thorough. The staff is always courteous and I have bothered them for things such as immunization records and they are so helpful. When we have our visits with the doctors I feel that they truly care for my children. Not only do they evaluate their physical health, they also encourage them and instill knowledge about taking care of themselves. They have cared for all of my children from newborn to adolescence. I have called them at night and on the weekends and they have always been responsive, patient, and caring. They are also punctual, and have never been late for an appointment over the past four years. If I need an appointment for something sudden, they are quick to accommodate us- that is quite impressive for a large family where someone always seems to need something! read more

I have been to Skyline Pediatrics a few times now with my infant daughter, and I am looking for other options. While the front desk staff and doctors were, in my experience, very kind and caring, I need more from a pediatrician than we have been getting from Dr. Kopas. He seemed unsure of a diagnosis for an illness my daughter had, and asked us if we wanted an antibiotic. Antibiotic resistance issues aside, I need my child's doctor to make an informed decision about how to treat her, and then to be confident that this is the best path. How do you know which antibiotic treatment to give her if it's a shot in the dark? Another time we were asking him about whether to get tubes inserted in her ears, as she has had multiple ear infections. He asked if she had had any speech delays yet... at 7.5 months old (she was sitting in front of him for reference). An odd question as most babies this age barely even babble! My main reason to leave is that I'm not sure whether or not Dr. Kopas would necessarily make the best decisions for my daughter-- the ones based on science and medicine. There are pamphlets all around the office titled "Steps to Peace with God," and in her 9 month checkup he asked me whether I thought babies were born good, and were taught bad things, or born bad, and needed to learn a good path. I'm struck by the inappropriateness of what I perceive to have been the "original sin" speech from my baby's doctor. It seemed out of place and is not why I take her to the pediatrician. Lastly, fantastic doctors ask at the end of your visit, "do you have any/have I answered all of your questions?" After declaring that my daughter "looks great" at her last visit, he stood up and opened the door. I literally had to call out "wait!" so that I could ask a question. I don't know if it's just me but their office has an uncomfortable feeling to it and that's not even the worst part they called my emergency contact(mother in law) she actually got scared because why would her grandkids pediatrician call her to say we had a past due amount. What Drs office does that? Awful experience with their billing people them seem to be more interested in you paying your bill than the health of your kids. They will refuse the care to you if you missed an appointment for whatever reason. Not just the penalty is applied (which would be OK with me) BUT they told me that one of my 3 kids will no longer be their patient. Their policy is not legal. So I took all my 3 kids out of there. Funny how the 1 star review lady has rated nothing but 1 star for every review she has ever posted. A page full of bad reviews. I have never put much salt into yelp because the only people that waste their time on here are complainers and it's rarely an accurate representation of a business. In this case the only review is so far off, I actually registered just to put the record straight. This office is filled with the kindest hearted individuals that truly love your children. Dr. Kopas is the most gentle and caring soul I have ever heard of, much less known. He is an excellent Dr., knowledgeable and sweet to the kids. He also isn't a "sky is falling" type, and I appreciate his realistic approach. Literally the best Dr. and pediatrician in the world is this place, and the fact that someone would bash on it is indicative that some people in this world find it necessary to complain no matter what.
