I want to introduce you to a new business that recently opened in Plainfield, Illinois. Lighthouse…read moreAcademy is a quality childcare center, and the third of their centers to open in Illinois. Lighthouse Academy is a quality day care center because of its cleanliness, structured curriculum, and nurturing caregivers. I would highly recommend them to families or caregivers looking for a highly educational program for their children. Lighthouse Academy is a quality day care center ran by a wonderful director and filled with enthusiastic and nurturing caregivers. The center is accredited by The National Association for the Education for Young Children (NAEYC) and The Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS). They believe in the highest-level of education to help children learn and grow. The teachers are highly trained in CPR and First Aid. If they are not certified upon being hired, the center offers classes for them to become certified. Lighthouse Academy is a curriculum-based center, which means they follow guidelines while teaching their children, making sure there is structure in their day. Lighthouse Academy focuses on the development of each child intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. By focusing on all four of those areas, they are helping build the "whole child". The center is known for its cleanliness and they uphold themselves to a high standard of being extremely clean. They clean the entire building at the end of every day. Each teacher is in charge of their own classrooms, and making sure that all toys and materials are bleached at the end of every day. It is very obvious when you walk into the building of this center that it is very clean and well taken care of. Finding a day care center that is right for your children is important. Early childhood is such an important time in life, and finding quality care can be hard to come across. It is important to find a center that has the same beliefs and philosophies as your own, and by observing centers you can learn which is the best fit for your child. I highly recommend families and caregivers learn more about Lighthouse Academy. I hope that by writing this review I will convince people to visit Lighthouse Academy so they can see for their selves how wonderful of a place it is.

The staff cares so much and have always taken amazing care of my children. The pricing is extremely fair for the area and well worth the care they provide. I've put a child through their kindergarten program and summer program and was impressed with both programs. Any concerns I've had throughout the years have been discussed and I've always felt heard. I've also gotten great advice through the years when I've asked for it. Have recommended them to everyone I know and will continue!

Nobody was overly friendly but with how many times I see this place mentioned on my neighborhood Facebook group I was willing to look past it. However, every time I have called to register my son I have been met with a teenager-esque attitude and a very short response- "UM yeah, you actually can't save your spot yet, call back next week, okay, bye!" When I call back a week later I'm met with "Yeahhhhh, sorry your spot is gone, we're on a waitlist now." When I expressed disappointment at being told to wait only for them to give the spot, instead of being given a decent human apology I'm asked "So do you want it or not?" I'm willing to be flexible when it comes to high quality care, but when I can't even get a polite response or a sense of empathy on the phone I definitely do not feel comfortable leaving my two year old son there. God only knows how far their patience goes with young children.
