In the past 2 years I have had nothing but positive experiences with my chil'ds teachers. They have been professional and knowledgable about different stages my child has gone through. They communicate well and offer a great program that challenges my child while letting her have fun. The center also has extra curriculuar programs my child participates in, allowing us to have more family time together at the end of the day instead of running here and there. The office staff is approachable and helpful. They both hold Masters degress in Education. The best thing about the center is that you feel comfortable the minute you walk in the door. It's a small, cozy setting that makes you feel like your child would be very safe. Many families get to know eachother and keep all of their children at the center for many years. Everyone is friendly and the children seem very happy and well rounded. I wouldn't dream of taking my child any where else.

Initially, we signed up with a flashier competitor within the same top-tier standards, but at the last moment before our infant daughter was set to start there, a mothers-instinct kicked in and I switched facilities at the last moment. Two-and-a-half years later, I have no regrets at that last-minute change. My intuition served me right. The smaller, more personalized, and nurturing care of this facility was completely right for us. Our daughter thrived from the careful attention of a long-term, experienced staff (infant room teachers who had over 15 years of experience in THIS center) who treated my child just like their own ... inside and outside of the classroom. Staff worked WITH us in addressing all our concerns educationally and also with help in parenting tips as well. As our child progressed from the infant room to the toddler room, the caring continued with experienced teachers and a vast array of new opportunities including a curricula adaptable to the children's needs yet supported by a stellar national standard which includes whole learning including science, math, reading, creative play, and even basic word-instruction in Spanis. Being in an office building, the facility seems much more homey than some of the instituionalized day-care centers. The playground isn't a concrete space, but set in a tree-shaded park with designated age-appropriate areas for each group of students. My daughter gets to play in the grass, pick leaves and flowers, help in a garden, play in a sandbox, ride trikes, and so much more in a real outdoor setting. it's wonderful. In addition because of Bright Horizons is part of a larger company, the center has support staff that comes in to the center to teach music and even art in a designated work space. The school has smart boards and computers in the rooms and even has an indoor "Movement Matters" room with ballet bars, mirrors, yoga mats, a climbing wall that is used daily to motivate children in various kinds of physical activity. Even the food here is a step up from most other "day-cares." With an emphasis on healthy eating, an wide variety of fruits and veggies are offered, whole grains are standard, and unhealthy filler juices are replaced with water & milk; homecooked meals and snacks are presented in so many ways with ethnic & comfort styles that my daughter has been expanded her eating habits from most schools traditional nuggets, corn nibbles, pizza, applejuice, and tater-tots! I really can't say enough about this school (not just a day-care). My daughter is academically challenged and ahead of her peers in other institutions, she is socially & environmentally adept ... and is a WELL-ADUSTED and HAPPY little girl who has found the balance of play with forward-thinking learning. She is loved at Bright Horizons and she (and we) love it back. Truly a wonderful place.

The school is gorgeous, clean, and we so appreciate that they have a ZONO device that kills germs on hard to clean toys. In comparison to other daycares my daughters have attended, they come home sick significant less. More importantly, we love the teachers and admin at KLA: Ms. Tiffany has been my 4 year old's teacher from the very beginning. She is down to earth, fun, and really connects with the kids. When I asked my daughter who her best friend was the other day, one of the 3 people she listed included Ms. Tiffany. My 4 year old is very shy but over time has opened up a lot more at school and improved her social skills with the help of Ms. Tiffany. Ms. Lisa is my 2 year old's teacher. She has young children of her own and she treats my daughter as one of own. I can tell how much she cares for and looks after my little one. Ms. Melissa is the art teacher - she works with all the children at KLA. She is incredibly nice, creative, and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of the kids. Ms. Heather is the principal. She is very responsive to parents and has been a pleasure to work the past 7 months. Martial arts and music class is part of the curriculum. I am also impressed by the Spanish exposure the kids get. My 2 yr old surprised me one day when she started counting her toys in Spanish without being prompted. My older daughter has attended 5 different daycares, and by far we have been the most impressed with KLA. I never worry about the quality of care my girls get while I'm at work. Thank you KLA of Naperville for all that you do!

They treated us like family from the moment we walked through the door. The teachers genuinely care about the kids and go out of their way to make the adjustment easy for them. Our son loved going there and we knew he was in good hands- a peace of mind that is truly invaluable. They foster a true quest for knowledge and community in these kiddos! Ms. Selvei was so kind, sharing her own experiences with the transition to daycare and calming our new-parent nerves. Ms. Melissa, would make a special effort to check on our son and say "hi". She was always so friendly and smiley, it put our son at ease. Ms. Maggie and Ms. Morgan also had a fantastic rapport with our son. They'd answer my zillion questions with patience and kindness (and man did I have a lot being new to this whole process). If you're reading this because your on the fence- choose KLA, you won't regret it!

I make this review more as a warning to the other parents who send their children to Chesterbrook. My wife and I had enough issues dealing with the "educators" at Chesterbrook when our child came home with a head injury or covered in human feces - but if you batter our child, you have started something you cannot stop. Perhaps other parents reading this will feel the same way. To be sure, we are in no way 'helicopter parents' and believe in discipline. But, there is, of course discipline and abuse, and this crossed the line. Our son became scared and hesitant to attend Chesterbrook, and would tell us approx. a week later about this incident. Upon hearing this, we met with the "principal" - who showed us the video of the "teacher" being physical with our child. Oddly enough, the principal agreed that the contact was inappropriate and that steps would be taken to remedy the situation. Upon picking up our child a mere three hours later, we were told that the principal had been fired. Following that, in an act of retaliation, we were told that our child was moved to a class of children two years younger than him. When we met with the district manager (or whatever she claimed to be), she not only admitted that she had never video and laughed in our face while we met with her. Completely unprofessional and indicative of somebody who cannot handle their job responsibilities, much less have some control over the well being of children. I could (and would like to) name the relevant individuals, but that will only serve to have this post removed. Nevertheless, those responsible will be held responsible in court. But, my advice - ask questions and get your child out of Chesterbrook asap.

A few months ago, we were looking for a new place to send our children. I had really had it with all of the changes in staff and leadership at the school. I really loved the teachers when we first started but the atmosphere had changed and the teachers were very unhappy. I was beginning to see that it was hurting my children's experience at school. Right before we were leaving Chesterbrook, there was announcement that a new principal (Jen) would be transferring from the Plainfield Chesterbrook. I've never seen a school turn around so quickly (and I have worked in education for 15 years myself). I noticed an immediate change in teacher morale, cleanliness of the school and communication with parents. Because of the changes, we decided to stay. Jen sets high expectations for her teachers and is a great communicator. The teachers seem happy and the kids also seem much happier. Jen has also led new changes such as getting organic milk into the school, ordering new furniture and adding new learning materials. I hope the school continues to make these amazing improvements. As for the curriculum, my 4 year old just read her first book last night, teaches me words in Spanish, can add and subtract and talks about all of the "cool things Ms. Becca teaches her" at dinner each night. My kids are safe, appreciated and have a lot of fun at school. I'm not sure I can ask for much more!

I enjoy the special events they have had for Halloween and Christmas so far and look forward to more of them! The enclosed park outside and the indoor motor room are so fun. Parents are encouraged to come to class on birthdays which makes me feel very involved. The curriculum is based on books and means I can easily reinforce it at home. Pick up and drop off are a snap and I feel very secure. But I'm a little heart broken that I'm writing this review because I no longer have a preschooler...I have a kindergartner! Almost 3 years ago my daughter started going to the Stepping Stones class at GLP. Stepping Stones is a wonderful pre-preschool program for kids 2.5-3yrs who aren't able to or aren't ready to start preschool just yet. This is an amazing class for the kids that are a little shy, aren't quite potty trained, or just as an introduction to the classroom environment. Mrs. Eileen and Mrs. Denise are exactly what you'd expect from a preschool teacher. Warm, fun, caring, perceptive, I could go on for days. The kids just love them, loved their class and could not wait to go into the class each time(no separation anxiety here). I was lucky enough to help for the day, and they really create an environment that fosters creativity, learning, exploration, and wonder. Mrs. Eileen also helped me and gave me resources to get my youngest into a great special needs preschool program with the school district. Mrs. Eileen and Mrs. Denise are an awesome team and they also do "All By Myself" and "Little Campers" classes to name a few. My kids still get super excited to see them in the hallway or around the park district. The year when my oldest officially started preschool, her teachers were Mrs. Hanssel and Mrs. Lisa. For 3 year old preschool she had to be potty trained, which I was very nervous about. At home she'd fight me on going to the bathroom or wait til the last minute and have accidents. It was a major power struggle. So her first day of school as I left, I honestly felt like a mother bird pushing her baby bird off a branch. But things went smoothly, she actually had an almost accident, they changed her, and after that there were no more problems. My daughter loved going to school and she got really attached to her teachers, especially Mrs. Lisa. She also came out of her shell and started making friends, all while learning ABC's, counting, colors, and so much more. Mrs. Hanssel really has a knack for making learning a blast. The art projects and class activities she comes up with are super creative and engaging. She is very personable and her weekly newsletters were very informative. For her last year of preschool, my daughter was first with Mrs. Staib MWF, but switched to Mrs. Witt and Mrs. Cheryl's class so she could go M-F. These. Teachers. Are. THE BOMB. My daughter blossomed under their careful attention. She's more talkative and confident than ever before, which blows my mind since she's always been so so quiet and shy. She's learned to write all her letters, and even read a little too. Mrs. Witt greets the kids each day, starts a dialog with them right away. I think it really lets the kids know that they are important but also to leave their cares at the door. I swear, my daughter is insane in the morning and impossible to get out of bed. But as soon as we get to school, she's a different kid! So excited to see her teachers and learn. I knew these teachers would be great because the summer before my kids had camp classes with them. The first day I brought them, I was so afraid my son wouldn't be able to participate and that his special needs would be too much of an obstacle. Mrs. Cheryl was so understanding! She asked a lot of questions to better understand him, made sure he had extra help, and even helped get him a Seaspar aid which has helped him participate in other park district programs. He was so happy to be included! And the camps they come up with are so fun. Each week is a different theme, from art to pirates to dinosaurs. The team at GLP is wonderful. Each teacher clearly loves what they do and it makes this preschool a very special place for the little ones to learn and grow. If they can turn my wild rapscallions into productive members of society, they can basically work miracles.
